Who hasn't?
Words,nothing but words
Until it happens
And then it is burned, branded and imprinted
Graphically and indelibly
Into your brain.
Sleep brings the nightmare alive
Again and again
You witness it over and over
In all its starkness
There's no escape,no way out
You can't stop the bloody train in time
All you can do is spectate
An unwilling and helpless participant
By the time your eyes pick out
The figure poised on the parapet
Vulture like
You are at the point of no return
Slam on the brakes
Jolt the passengers awake
The body in crucifixion mode
Glances off the cabin glass
Pupils dilated and inward looking
Staring within
You stand frozen
Unable to avert your gaze
And then time stands still
Journey and jobs disrupted
Until the gruesome recovery
Is complete
But that frozen snapshot
Haunts my memory
Flashing up
When least expected
My albatross
Seared into my mind
Spitefully roosting
And beyond oblivion
Torturing my soul
And draining
My will to live.
Love is a swooshing whirlpool,
swirling, twirling and whirling -
intensifying porcelain emotions.
Floating helplessly,
like bubbles in a tepid breeze.
There are still flashbacks
an unforgettable memory,
where poets, painters and musicians,
rushed to liberate their excited muses.
Her
diamond droplet eyes dazzled,
embellishing her emerald dress.
A vision of clarity, curing sadness.
A solution to end solitude.
An unsung song, an unheard poem,
an unfinished masterpiece.
Who's pastels and lyrics were
hidden deep within my heart.
Ivory piano keys,
craving hands sought to touch.
Poised like a pristine soulful harp -
waiting to be stroked by
composed, elegant enchanted fingertips.
A persona delicately designed
in an angelic silhouette.
Radiant innocence, illuminating through
eyes manifesting heavenly hues.
Many infatuated suitors,
hungered to taste the last sip
from her untouched chalice.
Their tongues remained blowing embers.
In the backdrop of cupidity,
metaphorical arrow magnetised her bow.
Succulence of her lips, now forever moisten,
tenderness of her chest, endlessly soothes.
The Silent One

Bugging Out
Alone watching the logs burn
Sizzling as my heart after your words
Betrayal as breath lingers and sways
My eyes crackling from the brokenness and the fire
Where does your emphasis come from
To berate me, humiliate and tell me I’m lower than a bug and invisible as the squashing
Sloth- like moving towards the shower always turning the water gracefully on as I hear those uncomfortables
You callously and mimicry throw confetti insults in my face, head and body. But I ducked like a child playing tag
Can’t catch me as I hide behind an insult. As I see , with sadness , you gather yourself , bow with arrow and with no concern, casually aim and release the last piece of me
“The pining brine streams flowing from the
weeping eyes seek the course to the sea
of serenity”– Quote by poet
The cloud convoy of despair drifts slow
in the seamless smoky sky of sorrow,
as the storm surges from the dismal
horizon of mangled mind’s visage distal,
it melts in many streams seemingly shallow,
while from the tearful eyes torrents flow,
like the raindrops rolling in tortuous rills,
the drenched face of the foliage feels.
All the dark dreary clouds don’t melt,
the pain of the deluge remains unfelt.
A lonely clump clutches a frail fraction
of crushed epitome of entrapped emotion,
like the raindrops holding hidden grief
in the secret crease of the sodden leaf,
lingers in me to wail from within deep,
for the impulsive promises I couldn’t keep.
With the emotive brine’s brisk flow,
carrying the condensed pain of sorrow,
the teardrops get poised in pearly file
on the unfurled eyelashes for a while,
like the raindrops resting on the tip
of the leaning leaves to detach and drip.
They silently sigh sliding down slowly
with the broken dreams’ invisible debris.
Down the parched wrinkles sorely sleek,
of the pensive and pining pallid cheek,
silent streams’ cataract mutely cries
as angst cascades from the tearful eyes.
The touch of serenity in the psyche bleak,
melancholic mind strives solemnly to seek
in the course the teardrop torrents trace,
and in their consoling emotional embrace.

Spire insight of silence
Swotch and bind, conspiracy of mind
Conspire and self-protrude
Mindless matter of maddened hatter
Borne gall of uncongruent bladder
Reign wettened confections'n faux pas
Pram embedded bedding of public propaganda
And poised for prose 'dulted diaper thrown an' broiled'n a gutter
Homely homelessness in wake of deft arms
Freshened refreshener and wetted choke
Chugged and driven doomed deliverance
Cut of word 'cross and lost'n devious drivings of work
Ticking tenor left fear to render
These haps to fall through ungloved metal and measly meak meal, and
Coarse feel along rift ridged riverbays
Swept upon eons of words spurred affray
Sully gusts, and worry t'encrust
And collect the lost worker from astray.
Wind and sea and waves and sun
sand in toes as day is done
Seagulls glide, sandpipers run
young dad splashes with his son
Breakers rise, translucent teal
lifeguards poised as youngsters squeal
Seniors search for shells - they feel
twelve again as sun rays heal
Sky on fire towards the west
clouds in lustrous fashion dressed
Cosmic artistry - I'm blessed
songs of peace swirl through my chest
Violins waft quietly
over swelling timpani
Saxophone soars soulfully
bidding hearts to be set free
Blushing scarlet, clouds advance
smell of salty foam enchants
Palm trees sway as in a trance
recalls young love's first slow dance
Couples stroll, fingers entwined
share a kiss if so inclined
Rising moon smiles as designed:
gives the anxious peace of mind
Waves still warm from midday blaze
surfers dance in sea-mist haze
Sailboats flee from stress-filled days
springtime struts; summer sashays

He wants me to know
He’s watching my every move
And he’s moving real slow
He’s got something to prove
He whispers in my ear
Every one of my fears
But when the smoke clears
I pretend I don’t hear
I go to the mirror
He’s pretty vocal here
I always try to get near
But he’s a puppeteer
He tells me I’m fat and ugly
He says I look like a disgrace
I say ‘no hun I look lovely
Now please get out of my face’
Every time I’m in a large crowd
Or whenever I’m someplace loud
Or I fall for certain men
There he is again
He wants me to drown
He tries to bring me down
Uh oh I’m seeing red
He’s inside my head
I lay in bed to escape my thoughts
But in my stomach is the devil’s knot
My anxiety is keeping me awake
I don’t know how much more I can take
Just when I think I’m going to break
I get this feeling I can’t shake
It’s a pure and heavenly presence
An angel of honor and reverence
She tells me in a calm voice
‘Everything you do is a choice’
I say “how do I get rid of the noise?
Around the devil I can never stay poised”
The devil’s across from me snarling
And he sees my aura’s sparkling
She says ‘he’s a part of you darling’
I never heard something so startling
She takes me by the hand
‘This has all been planned
You‘ll learn to take a stand
Against everything that’s damned’
‘It’ll be hard but you’ll be okay
As long as you always find your way
All you have to do is pray
And angels will be on their way’
I gently lean into the breeze
I turn my head up to the trees
I pray the angels can hear my pleas
I pray for the devil to find some peace
As I sit and gaze outside by the open door,
Favourite classic poised once more,
Pride and Prejudice, the Bennetts galore,
O’ comforts of wealth, I wish for no more.
Today,
I entered the boudoir with passion and flair,
Chose the coveted scarf draped over my chair,
Chose the finest silk to decorate my hair,
The mirror warned, “please do take care.”
Cinderella, adorned in purple silk apparel,
Who I am now, who can possibly tell,
As the comfort of silk ordains my seat,
With ivory silken slippers on calloused feet.
The Sun,
illuminates dust circling above my feelings,
Of servitude that cannot float above ornate ceilings,
I call to the maidservant for afternoon tea,
Served on the best China and doilies filigree.
Suddenly, the old Grandfather clock strikes four,
My dreams crumble to dust and float out of the door,
Alas! My mistress will return in an hour, maybe two,
And I still have so much work to do.

Black Diamond Night
The rapier of light cut through the black velvet night
Two lovers looked up at the first star tonight
Look see, that star light above
But she could not see, the star was her love…
Bodies lying spent under the warm black sky
The rapier of light like a javelin poised high
His body glistening in the extending glare
Her eyes blocked by her lovers breath to share.
He stands and looks up to the gods above
You thought you could take me from this woman I love.
Thor looking down at his son now a mortal
Power he would give to his grandsons through his portal.
His son once a demi,-god, now a mortal man
He vowed he would help, in any way he can
The light strikes his son from the black velvet sky
His back arched in pain his thoughts wondered why!
His lover lay replete on the damp flattened ground
Unaware of the pain and the light all around
Her lover stands his beauty abounds
In his hand a weight his fingers surround.
His heart is heavy, his father has cast him
As he opens his hand, his breath he does gasp in.
There in the palm of his hand he held tight
The most beautiful diamond from the black velvet night.
His heart is softened, he know it does mean
His father’s not forsaken him, his love he has seen
He takes his lover in arms, holds her tight
As they make sweet love under the black diamond night.
