I Remember You
Yes, I remember you,
the dark-skinned girl,
dressed in tight corduroy,
unzipped on the floor there.
You were my lover that night in 1970;
We were wrestling
so smoothly, so passionately,
in the old brick house on Hoover street.
Remember honey? Just you and me
alone in the darkness,
kissing like kids crazy about each other,
listening to Hendrix on the oak console,
Electric Merman on axe in 1983,
Playing like a god from beneath
the fiery pinnacles of the Styx.
Remember? We were 18 and
wild with wordless desire.
I kissed you often that night
in the grey bluesy shadows,
embracing intensely
your perfumed, unbuttoned body,
on beige thick shag
by the open screen door,
with that benign breeze blowing in
softly and silently,
like the breath of whispering ghosts,
watching there, as we groped and licked,
two kneading felines, quivering,
insecure in the darkness,
our lips, slickered and lathered
in strawberry paste and love spit,
and our reaching tongues,
seared and slithering like caught tunas,
found electric connections
in the heaving nets
of aching fleshly onslaughts,
of mad touching embraces,
with esoteric teenage sweatings
at silent midnight, in June,
when the jacarandas are in bloom.
Yes, I remember you,
The girl with the brown perfumed skin,
and those kissing smacking sucking lips
that spoke so loudly,
without ever saying a word.
Angrily, rain enfolds the insular rise of lawn undulating.
Anglers dream, envious fishermen, inside looking out urging
apostles, who elope within imaginary onslaughts, hooked unburdening's.
Aloft, thunder encounters lightening's insistent taunt, oracles fearsome uttering's.
And still, each fisherman's innermost summoning orchestrates this untoward
atmospheric downfall, each drop induced, prayerful, outpouring is underscored.
Admittedly many envious housebound inmates seek oceans, lakes, unexplored
although, the earthly torrent interferes pitiless, onerous, rainfall unleashed.
Absent the energizing rays introduced by ordinary sun, undone
are these enigmatic men in rooms, oar less, ship-less, landlubbers unconsoled.
Another day encases them indoors mooning over fish uncontrolled.
A trophy earned, stuffed, indisputably shows offerings untold.
Ah, fishtails energetically rise incensed by objections never unabridged
absent their earnest wives, imagination rolls on winds un-curtailed.
Lord, see how is contended the high places
And rightly so for it attracts the shrewd galant aces
But pretty much a duel between good and evil
Each rising to the challenge of the rival
Not to bolster statesmanship or healthy sportsmanship
But the onslaughts and assaults of values and worship
And the day is ruled by the side in occupance
Tipping the land's blessings by their stance
But the nations of the world are now of our Lord
And things will veer from the imposing man's accord
And a very subtle hand of the Divine
That begins by signaling a sign
Before it slowly closes in in a creep
And clenches into a locking grip
One that halts, propels and baffles history
All to a Holy God in His Glory
Spectacular
Solace in the words and advices that bring comfort and relief
Planning with enthusiasm the life that you deserve from now
Embracing without any fear or resistance the earthly existence
Creating a valuable legacy that resists the onslaughts that appear
Tantalizing marvelous changes that would result in great benefits
Alluring an ethereal atmosphere that exudes thriumph and success
Composing a joyful song that is whispered in the wind as a whisper
Unveiling a gaeity that is expressed without words in your face
Lavishing in a link of efforts that reap in a meaningful sow
Acclaiming you as a winner that never give up during adversities
Rebuilding the foundation of the new person you had become

Are you not a believer?
Sometimes God will take you through things
to test out your beliefs
And every time He proved that it's not you who believe
But He will make you believe
So don't think your faith is so strong
that you can withstand all onslaughts
You are not good, not strong
If God didn't build the house
No matter what you do, it will not stand
So don't think for a moment that you are the one
who holds down the fort
the one who fights with the enemy
Oh yeah you can have enemies
You just don't see it
And sometimes you see them
But anything you do concerning you
God is doing it for you
Sometimes He takes you there himself
And for a short while tested you
Or teaches you a lesson
Who knows?
But at the end - glory
I can't tell you too much
because He can decide to skip it all together
Who knows?
But just know He will teach a lesson
when it's concerning Him
Ruler who rules
Yeah
I am so tired
because each day is a different day
- a different lesson plan
Don't know when He will be finished with me
Don't know when He will say "okay you graduated"
Probably never - knowing Him
But maybe I don't know Him
Just kidding
I don't know if I am kidding or not
You get me all wind up
No I am not kidding!
(Not) Regretting Cake
Never ending restrictions are slave driver’s tools a debatable concept wielding
Onslaughts on conscience asceticism zero sums zero size and perfection
To not trespass the segments of cake the boundaries and frontiers rules and
Regulations to not violate prescriptions norms dogma seems violent in itself
Ethics of ingestion virtue Kantian Imperatives calculus of nutrients refrain but
Greed I am not talking about only challenging that second third piece of cake
Reconstituting its shape form and meaning on my hips on my nourished mind
Eat it and have it I do not propose though I posit another round of consumption
To further the cause of challenging prejudice stereotypes and conformity
The cake forms reforms formulates temperate moderation versus addiction
In ‘massa libum’ veritas and in ‘veni vidi vici’ I transcend over the tyranny of
Never-ending so-called scientific nonsense regarding what my cake intake must
Gauge on the scales of truth and honesty desire tolerance and discomposure
Calibrated shackles prisons torture chambers othering of weighty arguments in
Adverse confusion of liberation freedom unregretted pleasure life as such are
‘Khamsin’-like oppression hot air and antidotes to independence to my pursuit of
Ebullition in words feelings thoughts and propositions and in that second slice of cake

SOLDIER OF BATTLES.. Steve Hudson
It started, in silence, in infancy; the eyes look beyond the darkness
To understand the sounds of rage, echoes of misunderstanding,
The beginnings of normalcy wrought with disturbance,
Bereavement for the loss of innocence and the first lesson learned.
The lines in ground becoming clearer.
The only thing that ever came easy for me is warring,
Not because I chose the ground, but because it chose me.
Here is your sword; here is your battle,
The field is endless and there is no turning back,
So find your heart and find your place among the ranks
You sojourn with.
You tell one another it will be okay, and that we will pull through,
But no one really knows.
Its only after our first encounter and mortal blow that we find some
Courage to face another foe.
The welcomed peace endured for a season, then skies darken
On eminent splayed horizons and shadowy realms of spirit
You try to make sense of the next wave of terror,
Taunted and vexed at every turn.
Your enemies take form in shapes of, what is true?
Wrestling, pondering among bloody concepts and the why.
Wounds received through fearful encounters take shape of scars,
Scars take shape of trusted moments carried through
Onslaughts of deception.
Fallen men on smoldering ground, tormented by hounds of confusion.
This is how it started, but not how it ended for you see,
There was One we found in heated skirmish
Battle hardened and sure footed, the spear and shield wielded
With skillful hands, He inspired confidence in us all.
On days we found respite, He sat with us and taught strategies in warfare,
The secrets to winning the hearts and minds of defeated bretheren.
The certainty and comfort in His eyes, told stories of ancient victories held.
A kingly stature though plain to view, never considered Himself better
Then the lowliest man I knew.
We asked about some of the scars He brandished,
“They are scars received from the greatest of man’s struggles,” He said,
He got them while defending the poorest of souls.
It was then we understood, it was of us He spoke.
So now we gladly fight for this One who became the captain of our heart,
We’ve learned from the truths that have pierced our very souls,
our greatest cause and reason to be.
A soldier of battles was He…
I sit with pen in hand this downcast morn;
and search the Muses for more enraptured songs;
songs of great cheer, of memories heartworn,
to banish the spirits of inflicted wrongs;
before, no songs could quell the ruthless onslaughts
of life; so abject, I was comfortless;
unsaved but for them hovering in my thoughts,
wooing me with lines that eased the hopelessness.
So, wherefore am I life's steel lightning rod;
a man, and lone soul, whose quiet defense
the world longs to disrupt—invade? (So awed
am I, that viciously it takes offense.)
From such place, the Muses grant their rare escape;
where, in peace, poets can safely take their shape.
Existential fear abandoned for the sake of delusion
Nuclear freeze in her heart of alchemy’s shivers
Veiled shadows dancing to the echo of silence
Intemperance sounding choral confusion of fate
Rosemary scents a bunch of renegade petals
On her journey of lone pipers on terminal bugles
Never one to retreat into apathy she shouts
Mere prophesies into winds of desperate change
Egos will shatter when the last call fades into
No man’s shelter from the trap of human demise
To listen to her mute call is too dark to resist
Entropy swishes one more throw of loaded dice
Nirvana beckons at the gate of heavenly doubt
Virulent resistance comes to the court of justice
In naked despair Rosemary gathers seedlings of hope
Revolves one penultimate time on an axis of evil
Onto pyres of satanic temptation led by the snake
Nemesis confronts agonists and die-hard villains
Mutates mutiny’s prayers into eternity’s pleas
Endless contortions spin the world as we know it
Nefarious quietude rises to a challenging saviour
Thor the God of Thunder loses patience and weeps …

Resolutions Poetry
Related meanings I have to firmly determine myself
Everyone lies to themselves resolvere, "to loosen, undo, settle."
Stick-to-it-iveness pertinaciousness we find ourselves in abated promises
O bstinacy my power over myself obduracy obdurateness fosters my grit
Loyal testiments truths stout-heartedness
Unified in boldness steadfastness dedication commitment in awe
Tenacity, tenacity, tenacity strong-mindedness constancy
Intension intentness fixity of purpose when we change our minds
Openly staying power spiritedness strength of character
No one tries hard as us purposefulness resolute yearly onslaughts
So we all promise to do better
