Premium Member What's Great About Our Cabin

How do I explain what’s special about our cabin…that she’s not just a cabin anymore…
How, after all the years we’ve grown old together…she’s evolved into so much more.

Sure she creaks more than she use to and she’s added a few wrinkles as time’s gone by…
But, as she remind me when I mention this, over these same years…so have I!

But because of all the time we’ve spent together her walls hold memories of our past.
which makes each time we walk through her door….a little more special than the last.

Awaiting in this cabin are the memories we’ve made throughout the years.
Most are happy memories…but a few are brushed with tears

Deborah’s mother’s laughter, her father’s garden filled with veggies we eagerly awaited
Bryan, Ali and Ryan performing full length plays they wrote, produced and then created.

Picking blackberries, holding a stick in a campfire then pretending it’s a torch,
coveting the Goddess of Uno, chasing fireflies, laughing together on the porch

Flying paper airplanes from the upper deck…watching them soar and glide
Playing games with Grandma and Grandpa…laughing so hard we cried.

This cabin saw Deborah’s mom’s and dad’s passing…
saw sadness grip the trees
But she’s also watched their great grandchildren sharing similar memories

Over the years this cabin has inherited our genes and chromosomes….
mix in all our memories and this cabin is our home.

We even call her Balsam House…
yes we’ve christened her with a name…
I wonder…since we think of her with fondness…
if she thinks of us the same.

Yes, somewhere along the way she’s become part of our family…
A safe…a loving and happy place….
where each time I enter
I promise to ignore how she creaks a little more these days….
If she’ll ignore the new wrinkles on my face.

All Hallows' Eve Black Mass Incantation

We Pray in The Name of Our Father Lucifer,
Which wert in Heaven:

Boil, Boil plague-ridden rats and toads in oil,
With a pair of gleaming snake eyes too.
Mix in fresh hen’s blood and a rabbit’s paw,
With a touch of horse dung and a lizard’s tail too.
Add six cups of Vitriol and a tablespoon of Goldwater.
Stew, Stew this Stygian alchemic brew for ne’r six hours
During Vespers for Our Midnight Black Mass on All Hallows’ Eve.
Serve this unholy sustenance to Our Coven at midnight,
As we pray in Great Lucifer’s name for his guidance
In defeating Jehovah’s forces of good and light.
We do this in the name of Great Lucifer—The Dark One.
We seek Blackness, Darkness, Degradation, and Negation—
As Our Coven has the power of His Power as granted
By His Unholiness when the full moon’s shadow
Crosses the face of the Earth.

Kick - A - Cola

Endorsement money
Sports entertainment
Ethics and commerce
Challenged are values
……..” I don’t like
……..that my Son
………drinks Coke “
..Now that was lament
..Of Christiano Ronaldo
..Now: Kicks - A - Cola

Dad finally moved those bottles
Love for his son Vs. endorsement
A battle A game that must be won

How can a sportsman endorse poison
Not late for other dads to emulate him
The sporty father- set a new standard

As spectators let us not get carried by
Those 4Billion$ hit on the Coke shares
That may well be another game, arena

Applaud the sportsmanship on display
A father finally decided to Play the ball
No more a clothes hanger, finally a Dad
.
Can stop here but to complete the image
The bottle in center stage, biggest Brand
What is the content - sugar water untruth
.
“There is nothing in Coke that is good 4 U”
Yo Man! why then promote this mix in sport
“Inside the leather bag you are a consumer
“Entertained consumer Deluded to - core”
Someone puncture the veneer kick free
Primate-consumer-consumable-ate
Strangely one of biggest brands
A billion cans opened per min.
A 60 Billion $ market cap
…Am I divided…...Figures and

Chemo, Puberty & the Fourth Watch

by Patrick Cornwall

Wake up—rush for the toilet, say my prayers.
Stomach races, chasing bowels,
anxious like horses shot from a gate.

Chemo, the man said. Takes time to get used to. And I’ll ring you.
I take a shower. Just trying to rinse the sick away.
Ready for the day.
The sun leads me out—
then gas explodes.

Liquid in my underwear.
Provocative, isn’t it?
Warmth down my leg,
staggering back up the stairs.

Another shower.
Like it’s raining.
Tears mix in—
but no one sees them but You, Lord.

Toilet bowl—heaving, vomit.
Wishing I wasn’t alone.
Wishing I wanted to live.
But I must be strong—
three months in,
and I’m still breathing.

Nose forward,
purpose steady.

Old faithful—couch again—
Boom Boom Boom
We love you
Toon Toon Toon
We care
Tears of sweat, sweat of tears
Boon a Toom—
I’ll be back as soon as I can.

I can handle it.
If it’s dark, I’ll candle it.
Lost my wallet? I’ll panhandle it.
Chemo’s my companion now—
anaphylaxis too.
Friends from the deep.

I greet them with my game face.
Pretend it’s a new hockey stick—
I’m young again.
We’re playing the Russians,
and I’m a Flyer.
We’re gonna pound them.

But I’m sixty now.
My lungs don’t want to play.
My legs betrayed me.
What happened to me?

Boom a Toon—
legends call me down.
Boon a Toom—
I go back to the ward.

I see old friends,
but they’re younger now.
My vision’s slipping.

Boom Boom Boom
We love you
Toon Toon Toon
We care
I’ll be back
Just as soon as I can.

I didn’t want to end up in the belly of the whale.
I’ve already been there—
addicted, lost, refusing the call.
So I started writing.

So don’t worry.
I’m not at the end.
I’m just creative-bugging along
with my puberty chemo oats—
awkward, uncomfortable, and oddly alive.

Premium Member I Am An Autumn Dew

I'm water, though I'm like a pearl.
Hung on a crown of thorns, I swirl
My form and shape slowly alter.
Though I'm like a pearl, I'm water.

I'm born, like a crystal, tonight.
Tomorrow's sunbeams I've to fight
From my throne of thorns, I'll be gone.
Like a crystal, tonight I'm born.

The vapor! Then cold wave chills
Though I dry fast, my quest thrill-fills.
Sometimes I am a breeze-breaker.
Then cold wave chills the vapor.

Like a leaf, I float in the breeze.
Gradually, my movements seize
To nature, my life I devout
In the breeze, like a leaf, I float.

Eternity, I find, at last
The ocean I mix in is vast.
Amidst every absurdity
I find, at last, eternity.

Now fly,
show off gossamer wings;
Blessed with hunger am I,
brave with weatherproof strings;
I aim for a bullseye;

Now write,
letters are alchemy;
Each reader can take flight,
learn you intimately;
My set glitches delight;

Ink flows
from deep inside the gut;
Inhibition will close;
Setting free classy smut,
I mix in clean cut prose;

Words scream;
Cognizant of my soul
they hijack a daydream;
With pen, paint, or charcoal
take it to the extreme;

Lines dance,
walls crumble to freestyle
celebrating a stance;
My stanzas run a mile,
I always take a chance;

You soar
so high when you give in;
I’ve crashed and hit the floor
and stood up forgiven;
I’ll write forevermore.

WHIRLPOOLS OF THE MIND
Cycles of life..churn..revolve,dissolve..
resurface..mix in restless sleep.
Deep from the chasms of the
unconscious, the froths of
yesterday's concerns as flotsam
become a jetsam dream..to
scatter up on the beach of
our tomorrow..as hazy recollections.
Forlorn..half-remembered..such
detritus of our persona slowly erodes
shrinking in the light of day.
Put into proportion such giants become
dwarf like..distant litter on our
horizon..to fade away forever upon
the tide of each new dawn's..reality.
