Night Meets the River
The deep night sky meets the river
With stars sparkling in ripples below
The water moves with a quiver
To a kiss around the bend, it flows
Meandering glimmer of hope shines through
Peaceful sounds reach the quiet land
With soft music in the air, playing too
Where water and rays merge into a band
The moonlight fills the sky above
Spreading light through the forest trees
Shining on two gentle hearts in love
As apprehension quickly flees
Moving with currents, love lifts to the sky
This mellow night slowly does ignite
A lovely passion with a sweet sigh
Engraving a memory, with a beautiful sight

Is there anything finer
Than that first cup of coffee?
It's better than sex by a mile
It lifts up your spirits
Sets the tone for the day
And forces the biggest of smiles
People will wonder
What you have up your sleeve
They'll think you won at the track
Unknown to them
Is the fact you don't gamble
And you're not into heroine or crack
Now a hot cup of joe
Is addictive they say
But think of the lives that it saves
It cuts down on suicides
And domestic abuse
That sends young folks to their graves
It's a small price to pay
Makes sure you're on board
It keeps those Colombians employed
Instead of drug runners
They're coffee bean hustlers
As a bonus their economy's buoyed
So next time you visit
A Starbuck's or such
Remember it's more precious than gold
For keeping us sane
Our eyes on the prize
Puts a stop to our brains getting old

I began my walk in silence this morning…save for the muffled barking of a dog…as overnight the clouds descended and cloaked the Earth in fog.
It’s on cool mornings such as this…with the fog muting all details…I’m reminded how the Earth is alive and breathing…as I walk through her exhales.
I love walking in an early morning fog…where all colors are stripped away…for the more I walk…the more I realize…there’s so much beauty in the gray.
Some people may find sadness in the mist…may see it more like smog…but I, for one, am blessed to find happiness in the fog.
When the fog drifts down to visit…I feel a kind of inner peace…every sound is muted…all boundaries seem to cease.
I’ve learned to see the beauty in her obscurity…that without the fog I cannot see…the way she blends together with the rocks, the sky…the ocean…the flowers and the trees.
The fog reminds me how life is ephemeral when I’m surrounded by her at the break of day…for I know if I wait long enough…the fog will fade away.
And when she lifts her blanket…I know there’s no telling the wonders I might feel…from the sounds she will unveil…to the colors she’ll reveal.
I’ve been blessed to know the pleasure of playing in the sun…
of counting stars in the evening sky when the day is done…
of dancing in the rain…
of standing by a lake listening to the singing of the frogs…
And one of my most cherished blessings will always be…
walking in the fog.
The Play Bill falls from my sweaty palm to the floor
September 8, 2001 and I'm still alive; it's a miracle.
Pushing my bifocals back up my nose, I frown.
I can't remember the play at all?
A cell phone rings. I stumble toward the closed doors.
Bending over, I'm approached from the wing and tackled.
My heel slip-rolls on a broken pencil; I'm down.
What did you do you bastard, he bawls.
the curtains part
revealing a pool of blood:
a chord is struck
My arm's wrenched to my back the pain's hard to ignore.
Arms back, I feel cold metal, he puts on shackles
From the outside, there's a shout; a cop's siren sounds;
he lifts and shoves me to the wall.
February 25 Faith in God Bible Meditations Based on Numbers 33-34
Key Verse – Numbers 33:2 And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the LORD: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.
FAITH IN GOD WHO LEADS US IN OUR JOURNEYS
God leads us in our journeys through His lovingkindness…
By faith, we draw nigh to Him with our gratefulness
Since He brings us to our destination of purposefulness
Always guarding us in His perfect will’s graciousness.
God leads us in our journeys through His victory…
By faith, we step forward along His kingdom’s territory
Since He lifts us from failure’s misery
Always taking care of us for His name’s glory.
God leads us in our journeys through His authority…
By faith, we flee from folly and vanity
Since He protects us from evil with His security
Always enabling us to grow in our spirituality.
God leads us in our journeys through His peace…
By faith, we enjoy His fellowship of comfort that does not cease
Since He keeps us from temptation, healing our sin’s disease
Always helping us when we are in our prayer-knees.
God leads us in our journeys through His deliverance…
By faith, we dwell in His Word’s assurance
Since He guides us from unbelief with His truth’s perseverance
Always upholding toward our discipleship-endurance.
God leads us in our journeys through His mercies’ favour…
By faith, we offer to Him our dedication of sweet savour
Since He frees us worldliness’ vain flavour
Always teaching us to serve Him with holy fervour.
God leads us in our journeys through His direction…
By faith, we receive His blessings with satisfaction
Since He settles us from discontentment midst joy of salvation
Always ushering us toward obedience of fulfillment-optimization.

It's no mystery
the tools
the engineering
just the understanding
of forces
the way
Robert Frost walks
a neighboring wall *
raising
fell'd stones
to reverse gravity
That's all we do
all the time
reverse gravity
The poem's talk
of commons too
beside the futile labor
It's just math
in
simple terms
a simple truth
that governs
and love
which
lifts no stony hope for sinners
. no neighbor to argue their side
as
night's legions
never bare children
and silence
has no say
Only math
Just math
where
radii might
transit a point
Not love
Just gravity
and
death
YOUR death
Just to die
or die just
My mother died
A law governs
but love
with no measure
no rule confounds
to see
beyond our waking
the proverbial heart
not physiologos
. transectal
. geocromes
. that strike the minus
( a kind of understanding )
but love's
transgenomes unbinding
in
space
. time
form
in
exhalations capitulation
' heart throws
the strike-line
beyond
star's intransigence
stands-in
for an absent moon
and
sketches out
the ashen eye's refrain
where
the rule of
. no command
. commands
. no thing
as
line &
light &
labor
fail

Ask for warm grace to light the way:
Heed your pulse here that love makes light,
Apt words now trace bold rhymes that play;
Prize happy cheer that frames grand sight,
Peace of mind knows a touch that lifts;
Yes your soul sees that mystic path.
Bright floral glow comes as a gift,
Intuit touch spree to bring sure stuff;
Reach for the way as dream avails,
Thrill in the bliss as spirit speaks;
Heart feels touch stay in cosmic sail,
Dance with sure ease love's profound peak;
Answer the call within you soul,
Yield thus your all to merge one whole.

Life is a fest
In journey quest;
Start with calm zest
That works the best.
Be of sure heart
As blessings start;
Your tale is told
As joy unfolds.
A flight of dreams
Ushers bold schemes;
A brand new year
Comes now with cheer.
A lovely truth
Greets timely proof;
A dream comes true
For me and you.
Light shines most bright
As grace lifts sight;
Love comes to stay
With us each day.
May faith bring light
To sculpt fond sight;
Hope dwells on earth
With fond re-birth.
Start with your heart
To spread love’s art;
Joy flavours peace
With happy lease.
Goodwill binds cheer
Where love endears;
Seek to be true:
Both we and you.
Treasure each day
Now come what may;
Dare to live bold
Through warm and cold.
Live what you give
As true love lives;
Choice is the key
To what may be.
Pray for fine good
To lift your moods;
Yet do not prey
With evil ways.
Live your best game
As blessings flame;
Learn to employ
Love that spreads joy.
Wear your heart well
To cast fond spells;
Grow as you show
How blossoms grow.
Go on your way
To live each day;
Sizzle and shine
With kindness find.
Blessings find you
In all you do;
Seek to be free
With love’s sure spree.
Watch your word wit
For poise funds fit;
Picture your dream
With scented streams.
Thus let it be
Just as you see;
Ample day’s sum
Your grand outcomes.
Sync with the times
As beauty rhymes;
Frame dazzling mimes
With lovely chimes.

Grace brings me through every storm
Singing to my heart that I’m never alone
Grace invites me to be saved through faith
Not of myself, but it’s a gift I must take
Grace enlightens me to believe in Jesus
And know He is with me whatever I’m doing
Always a friend I can count on every moment
A friend that loves me beyond what I deserve
Grace defines my heart’s compassion and joy
Reminds me why I give generously with feeling
To those who are in need or who appeal to me
To bring gestures of kindness with God’s healing
Grace opens my heart to feel all that is a alive
Love that has no conditions and always survives
Throughout the worst that comes, the storms
Those moments when chaos has its approach
Grace feeds my soul with gentleness and beauty
Friendship that lives beyond what is bound to me
Joyous acceptance that proves I’m quite capable
Of giving from the heart what God makes of me
Grace whispers through me and judges not the wrong
Forgives all the past and sings a bright new song
Intimacy grows from the warmth of its harmony
A tenderness that lifts me to new heights, new hopes
Grace guides me through the challenges I’m met with
Covering my worst worries and feelings of anxiety
Feeding my heart with praise, joy and enlightenment
Feelings that grace abounds in a life so dedicated to the word
Grace reaches down from the heights of heaven above
And releases me from all the suffering I’ve felt in my past
Teaching me that whatever comes I have Jesus love within
Giving out a part of heaven with every gift I hope to give
Grace is a gift from the good Lord up above
Sending me answers to all that I might wonder
Helping me to pray when I have doubts or worries
And keeping me safe through all the pains that come

A stranger buys coffee for the man
whose hands tremble counting pennies~
the warmth lingers past the last sip,
carrying him to the bus stop,
where he lifts a suitcase
for the woman balancing an infant.
She smiles all the way home,
slices extra sandwiches
for the neighbor’s kids
whose mother works doubles.
The neighbor, grateful,
mends the fence
for the old widow next door,
who now tends her garden
with less ache in her knees.
Months later,
the same stranger
finds his tire changed
in the rain
by hands he doesn’t recognize—
but the rhythm of kindness
is familiar.
