At a bend in the road
One needs take utmost care,

                                                  Rush Hour

                                        Hectic rush at day`s end
                                            Everybody in haste
                                      Traffic jammed at road bend
                                        Proceeding at snail`s pace
                                         Sound of sonorous smash
Splits my dream in a rash.

The Toe Jam Jamboree

Was it his head tilt that stumped me—
Was it his keen variations of hilarity,
Was it his words—wild, strange, free,
Like a bird straight out of captivity?

He had a frisky, playful tongue
That sounded like a friend
With no limitations save the time span
Of sixty seconds—
There—none wasted—
No—a wit sharp and full enough
Uttering colloquial meanings I could only dream
To attain through a matter
Of a downloaded app

And yet—he needed only sixty seconds
—on the spit and spot—
To relay inch by inch
A soul so beautiful and rich,
Creative and lovely,
With flawless bite and light

Smart phone readied,
His big toe hit the record button
As he played his tunes,
As he always had
And always will.
He called it the Toe Jam Jamboree,
And I applauded ever so inwardly
With a smile of awed sincerity

Sixty seconds and it ends,
Cut off too soon—
The limitations of fellow man
And fellow receiver
Playfully cruel
Ever playing through
Maybe the thick sail of tunes reached my ears
Beyond the time of the app’s snipping jeers

I told him—ever so inwardly,
His Toe Jam Jamboree was symphony—
Onward with sovereigns in silver harmonies
Reaching a peasant’s light and a warrior’s fight
Straight to a lone cock with feathers too bright
Beak strong-held high, and sharp
Ready to peck his way out of the coldest of hearts
And into ripples of rhythmic paradise
Where there breathes
The guy who attracted me,
With his tilted head,
His words of glee,
Flipping off every useless ad
And sifting words and airs like mad

Toe Jam Jamboree, he called it
And I call it symphony
With a steadied foot
And a readied middle finger
It’s his difference that will always

Quote used "I do not like green eggs and ham. I do not like them, Sam-I-Am.”
Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham

My mum says I’ve got to eat all my greens
They’ll help me grow strong, guess l know what she means

But why green eggs and ham, I just want to eat jam
For I like to eat jam whenever I can

Jam on potatoes, oh that’s simply delish
I spoon it on carrots and it covers my fish

I eat jam for breakfast and always on dinner
Mum says I’ll get fat and I need to be thinner

Why does mum always think that she’s right
I need to eat jam morning, noon and night!

Every night time I kneel by my bed and pray
I thank God for letting me eat jam every day

But why won’t he listen for he knows I don’t like greens
I’d put them in firework and blow them to smithereens

Sadly mum disagrees and still gives me green food
It makes me all grumpy and puts me in a mood

But I eat them all up as I don’t want to fight
I still tell mum I love her every single night

Holy Jam

Myself and Allah had gone for a walk ,
‘We then sat down and began to talk ,
‘the wind blew hard and began to freeze us,

then low and behold there stood Jesus’

“Hey bud”
I’d began to say ,
have you met Allah and what ya doing today ?

“ Of course I know him J.C said ‘
not sure on the other question as I’ve been in
Bed ,

Well That comment dulled the conversation more than I coulda but luckily a loud whistle came in ,

it was our mate the Buddha ,
Whassup y’all the round priest called out ,

actually it was more of a mantra chant than a karmic shout .
Allah threw up a peace sign to the Buddha’s delight

“peace be upon you brother your outa sight,

Jesus laying out a rhythm like a beat box pro ,
Allah threw it down next and let his wild side show .

The Buddha gave the bass line and waved his arms in the air
‘as I shouted to the crew
“like ya just don’t care “.

Jesus sounded the scratching that was perfect and just enough, as the Buddha closed his eyes and funkily shook his stuff .

As this collective reached their limit and our piece had started to end I thought this was the best of days and hoped it would be again .

Once that improv jam was over and us friends had wished each other well ,

Jesus looked at his Rolex ‘his time was up I could tell .

“Peace upon you Allah” as The Christ then nodded his head ,

“I’ll see you around no doubt Buddha”
as their fist bump sounded in my head .

And there I was with the others now gone,
I took the slow walk home ,
although I could no longer see them ,
I knew I wasn’t alone .

Premium Member Cherries Canned Fresh Or In Jam

Cherries are delish
On top of a Banana Split
Topping on a Sundae center of whipped cream
Straight from the jar a tasty treat

They are so good by the pound
Fresh from the grocer
Get a bowl and bite around the pit
Or made into a jam_lickety split

But all those cherries have their pit
A lot like life
There's lot of good
But always some strife

We learn the best lessons
When we're in the pits
Somewhat like we get bowl of cherries but soon only have pits
But wasn't the good part wonderful

(Thoughts came on this one after remembering the line
"If life is a bowl of cherries, why am I in the pits"..
I think that Erma Bombeck said that but not sure..
Just not my line orginally.)

Premium Member A Simple Sunday

A lazy day
No work waitng for you
No routine
No restrictions
You may not obey the time
No need to rush for breakfast
Traffic jams and crowds become nonsense
Breakfast become brunch
You may cook some maggie mee to start the day
And packaged food or canned food
For the rest of the day
Confined to a self lockdown
You stuck to the handphone or tv
And the world is at your finger tips
Day and night have no difference
The sun never rise and set untill tomorrow
Free of the mind and free of the soul
For one day only
And maybe a prayer for the world to go round
once more tomorrow

Traffic Jam

Another boring day I make my way
down this life’s tricky busy long freeway
So many travelers choose to go as well,
in slaving sync to the cold life school bell

We all so focused on the single prize,
so much assets to gain and maximize
My car is rusty and not too trusty
My mind conviction pure and just gutsy

So many jams clog the path to your heart,
transforming my ride to a slow oxcart
Again frustration at the sight of red,
again my efforts going head to head

Looking at your lips for the light of green,
but your smile is still a sight to be seen

Premium Member Where's the Dunny Paper ?????

They created a scamdemic
what a filthy nasty lie
Then they lined 'em up to get the jab
or else you're gonna die

Side affects are bodily
but there is another scam
Shortages of dunny paper
create a traffic jam

One would have thought that food
would be the major focus
But no the human race
has lost all form of locus

So me I'm running where
the vegetation's lush
Not so hard to find some green
when I'm caught short in the bush

But where the growth of trees and plants
are often rather sparse
Hard to find material
on which to wipe my ass

I stand in awe whilst I do watch
the rush for toilet paper
Don't they realise it's all part of a
dirty criminal caper

There are places I have utilised
to aid my body function
No doubt I would have spread some seed
I do it without unction

Garden shrubs on city streets
provide a hiding spot
Luckily I've not been caught
they'd think it;s ME!!!! who's lost the plot

Sometimes I've utilised a culvert
number one or two
You've gotta take whatever's
when you're busting for a poo

And when there's need to clean one's self
whilst running in the scrub
Smooth stones or straight sticks I've often used
why don't you join the club

Footnote: A stern warning from an old bushie
who has spent years around a camp fire with a billy of tea
NEVER STIR YOUR TEA WITH A STRAIGHT STICK1111

                                 There are many different hearts
                                              Hearts in love
                                        A heart that is happy
Hearts that jumps in your chest
                                          A heart that weeps
Broken hearts, we have all heard of
                                        Hearts suffering in pain
                               Sweet and delicious chocolate hearts
Hearts showing us where the toilet door is
Hearts that are red or pink in our diary
Hearts may look cute and small
Those I like best is the waffle hearts
                                        with strawberry jam on
