Knowing You Knowing Me

We've known each other for a while now
I think its fair to say
I haven't met anyone like you
not ever, not to this day

when our eyes really first met
something inside me began to stir
I was unsure what to make of it
so I shrugged it off without a care

weeks have passed by, our conversations keep flowing
like raindrops from above, the topics have no warning.
The more that we explore, the greater my yearn
to travel the footprints of thought
that leave tracks across your mind.

time flies fast, its almost a blur
we've know each other over a year now
and you have become a mama.
I've never seen you so happy
a miracle from above, I am sure..
I love how your eyes are smiling
This is a picture I adore.

it was at this point, when I looked into your eyes
that what bothered me before came back to life
the stirring within came out of the blue
it was then I realised it was fuelled by you.
still unsure what it was within
I just looked up and gave you a grin

Its 2 in the morning, I should be asleep
each time I close my eyes, its you I see.
For a second there is blackness, and everything is sound
then from nowhere, your face is found

My arms reach out, to hold you tight
to hold you close throughout the night
but like before, you were not there
so this again, I'm hugging air!

Finally, my brain gives up and sleeps
but still you find me in my dreams
but in my dreams your there with me
so this is now the place to be.

its time to wake up, I feel exhausted
my brain feels fried, there was no off switch.
All throughout the night, you and I danced away
under the moonlight, with the stars on display
upon cloud tops, high in the sky
where angels sit to watch you and I

Sorrow was what it took, for me to realise
what love was, and how it thrives
where it starts, how it feels
how it hurts, but how it thrills..

I feel like I could fly, this stuff is better than Red Bull
I've never been so high, the feeling is astronomical
and to think the reason why, I feel so invincible
Is because I looked into your eyes
and was touched by your soul..

I leave it to fate, to decide what will be,
to see if theres a future for you and me.
You are one of a kind, you are my friend.
I've never met anyone like you..
I dont think I will again!

MY FATHER'S GENTLE HANDS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I remember my father’s hands as a plumber’s hands—fiercely strong, calloused, rough, knuckle-battered, and dirty after a long-day’s work. Those hands shoveled; unclogged drains and toilets; repaired leaks; and installed pipes, commodes, and bathtubs. Those hands provided.
I remember my father’s hands as a fisherman’s hands—perfectly patient, tenacious, self-confident, and unwavering as he held his fishing line and lure stabile, waiting for a fish to take the bait. “Keep your hands steady. Stay focused,” he prompted me when I asked him to teach me how to fish from his flat-bottom boat. Those hands fished longer than they ‘plumbed,’ rarely missing an opportunity to commune with nature, seldom losing a fish. Those hands fed.
I remember my father’s hands as a treasure hunter’s hands—firm, certain, and capable, listening intently to his metal detector’s tones learning to discriminate the sound a good coin makes compared to the choppy, broken sound a junk target makes. Those hands searched, discriminated, and found soulful answers to life’s complex questions and dilemmas.
I remember my father’s hands as gentle healing hands—kind and comforting as he wiped away the tears that sometimes streamed down my face. Without saying a word, those hands loved, consoled, and encouraged—always righting my world.
I remember my father’s hands—full of strength and hope as he took my trembling hands in his. Those hands gave me courage—the courage to reach up in search of everything impossible, leaving me with the unbridled sense that to do anything less was the greatest impossibility of all. Even now whenever I need courage, I can feel his hand around mine helping me to feel invincible once again.
In my mind’s eye, I often see my father’s hands—every line and every wrinkle. They told a story about the kind of man he was. I’ll remember my father’s hands for the remainder of my life. I’m grateful for him, for his enduring spirit and presence, which continues to grace my life despite his passing some years ago.
Dad's hands tell a tale
they did countless loving things
they touched and guided
they shaped and molded
they encouraged me to reach
they held the stars in place
they held rising sun
they sought deep understanding
they chased lonely moon
The Mystique of the Lady and the Unicorn
An invisible string was created from the beginning of time,
it is wound around my horn, and bound to your heart
Invincible.
Each time your heart beats, you tug at this string,
drawing me closer to you
You are unaware of this, I love you
yet I fear and resist you, dear Lady
Not only have you captivated me, but my fate is in your hands
I am the last Unicorn in existence
Kings and nobles desire me for my horn,
for it can purify poisoned wells
and they know only you have power over me
Sweet virgin, all I ask is
one song  to enchant my ears
one glimpse of your precious smile
one kiss from your ruby lips
one whiff from your perfumed dress
...a single stroke from your gentle hands
and I shall dream of you forever
Betray me not please by handing me to the men
Let me lay my horned head on your lap even just once…
then set me free
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
You are Testing me my rear precious unicorn,
every King has offered more than our beauty holds.
Unfold I will hide with you in a placed to protect us from every face.
Avoiding your poisonous horn, in which I fail to feed my soul with your purity.
I will move you from this revolution in which has troubled the monarchy.
Medieval strings of power to catch you~ your the last of your kind.
My Unicorn you are the medicine, the symbol ones seeks to rule darkness.
With passion I hold a belief that your horn can heal illness,
your strength will carry on.
Every time you returned to drink the waters of a no man's paradise,
I reach out to touch your radiance once a year.
Your horn can cure plague, rage, rabies, fever's and more!
Become my host let me wear you in this mystical amulet.
I will wear you as my jewelry while you lay your head on my lap.
My Unicorn of purity, I will never tell the ingredient and secrets we share,
as we got lost in each others stare.
I will ride with you and never betray your existence.
Together we will gather the fresh fruit and CORN~
My precious unicorn my virginity is your dignity.
Bathe with me throughout my immortal long and healthy life.
I'll sing you a song good night.
Ali-corn you are the weight in gold, all emperors, will fall at my feet.
One kiss with my red ruby  lips!
I "guarantee" you a gift only we both see.
"If you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you!"
Premium Member In the thicket forgotten of deeply anchored thoughts
In the thicket forgotten of deeply anchored thoughts,
Where ideas nest, across time and tailored spaces,
There I stand, guardian of the undimmed realm, the archivist of the flame
That knows not extinguishing in the beating winds of history,
Guarding the pure light that does not fracture from darkness.
Shadow does not frighten me, in the tumultuous whirl of the ephemeral moment,
The virility of my pen is the bastion safe from political venom,
In my fortress of books, ideas, and eternally glimpsed dreams,
A candle of knowledge, a lighthouse piercing the fog of despair,
And my intellect, a fleet that can quench the thirst of the abyss.
I am the knight battling the windmills of forgetfulness and ignorance,
At war with the shadows that attempt to speak of present suppression,
A country does not parade its grandeur in the fleeting plays of political stages,
But in the echo it leaves through a waltz of creative genius in the world's libraries,
Through art, science, and the poetry whispered by blossoming briar circles.
A nation does not stretch into the arms of death when it is defeated,
Nor embraces the poison when lords change or thrones waver,
But on the wings of those who walked through the subtle circles of thought,
They leave an endless imprint of the dream in the springs of eternity,
Weaving its chronicles, over centuries and wisdom its people grow.
And I, amongst waves of misunderstanding and barriers of indifference,
Submerged in creations that speak in languages only the stars comprehend,
I traverse the fine line between present and dreaming eternity,
I build from words a wall that no terrestrial battle can crumble.
I watch how politics spins like an old mill in the fickle wind,
But I keep my distance, with my quill dipped in eternal ink,
Agony and ecstasy, in a wondrous dance of knowledge,
Never forgetting that the sunrise from my mind is the rebirth of the world.
Beneath my intellectual hoard, with its invincible nature,
I warm centuries, illuminate unfoldings, and cultivate hope,
For, regardless of the whirlwind that beats at my gate,
I am master of my counsel and the dream I embrace.
Politics may haunt the streets and squares,
But the eternal plays in the laboratories of my tranquil mind,
Where I, the architect of this human sanctuary, undefeated,
Weaving eternity with my intellect, remain.
Look At Them
Look at them, tangled in insignificant conversation
about politics or stereotypes of  blacks, whites and Asians,
lack of youth education, weather ruined vacations, how inflation squeezing their arm like “yo, I got you taken,
and how fuel became a bill from the money that we are making.
They sacrifice the savings to keep a standard of living.
I hear then talking about their lovers lack of love that they are giving
I say communicate or leave because time is steady ticking
Look at them
Buying expensive rims, and high fashion clothes with sneakers, lugz, and tims. Inside I soul spy like
magnified mri’s an imaginary field force of selfishness and pride.
Careless if they fetus die, cry internal cause maternal really means giving up a lot.
They sacrifice the club shot for shot life and dreams and  the scene of kings and queens all decken together…
and their business is each others infused for forever playing tether with the ball of a pendulum. Uncovered
are their memories of covers and words they’ve past uttered…it is just another case of lack of patience
Like gimme good but hold the impregnation. Bright futures still there steady waitin
Look at them
Thinking they can plan their lives, brake the rules of the beehive that ran their lives, make a little honey to
expand their lives, then forget they folk turn around forget they wives.
See she lost her heart and he aint got no eyes but in such a dark world that man is king.’
Look at her flaunting that ring then pawning that ring because all that mattered was a shiny thing. Not the
signs
Look at them tryna rewind. Relight the spark that wouldn’t stay the last 20 times
It should be a crime to try to live back there. Yo people do change but change is rare
They put it all on retail so it can be re-teared
All the hurt made them cold so they don’t care
Blinded by the glare, and the lights and such
Look at them!  Don’t they know they done sold too much?
In for a short time touch instead of long term goals
People drive through they souls without no tolls
All control each other’s minds fueled hearts by coal
So hard, so swoll, so invincible is external
Look at them bout to blow so internal
Would you look at them actually living
My observations vicarious as information I’m giving
Look at me all input but no answer
All I am is input but not the answer
Premium Member Woman, Whenever, Wherever, Whoever You Are
well, woman has been around for a while
  hypno-teasing men with her wicked smile
  been known by many names starting with Eve
  Boadicea, Cleopatra and Genevieve
  she can fly-by-night, be out with the bats
  purring and prowling with sly slinky cats
  never a tame girl, sometimes receptive
  with hidden secrets, deep and deceptive
  see her in twilight, creature in the dark
  flames flickered when she was Joan of Arc
  think she has been here for just a few years?
  think again, 'them' hills, they flow with her tears
  woman has been teacher for aeons of time
  wrote most of " Homer ", taught Plato to rhyme
  as Archimedes' hand-maid, she had a laugh
  when he shouted " Eureka, get me out of the bath! "
  around when Adam gave out those spare ribs
  her name is on parchment writ with rare nibs
  her time here with us, a mere interlude
  battles over centuries, a bitter feud
  with men from the past and future I'm told
  man on her arm, just her latest cuckold
  well-rounded dame or seriously slim
  cheerful demeanour or chief sister grim
  close-quarter woman talking loud and fast
  words over-taking like a blast from the past
  so hard to keep up, so hard to break in
  leave you behind in the wake of her din!
  what's this I hear, is she now slowing down
  pausing for men, is she wearing a frown?
  perhaps she's starting to shuffle the deck
  departure dreaming on a very long trek
  maybe no point in moving on once more
  the greater challenge is here at the door
  as men they shout " I am invincible
  I've the biggest Archimedes Principle! "
  late at night she now walks the floorboards
  seeking a new role, a song with new chords
  " where and when will I go, who will I be
  will I stay in this land or else oversea ? "
  men of the future and men of the past
  treasure this woman as head of the cast
  whenever, wherever, whoever you are
  she will always twinkle, shine like a star
  bring her some chocolate, bring her some wine
  make sure she stays and has a good time
  but watch at midnight in case she's outside
  all alone by the road hitching a ride
  silver moonbeam and finest curb crawler
  then down to the port and onto a trawler
  far out to sea where she thinks of those days
  when Gods fought Neptune for sight of her gaze
========================================
{There will be ‘nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.’ UN climate report warns of ‘code red for humanity.’}
========================================
You, unfeeling creatures
Who call yourselves human,
You, fleeting bubbles of reason,
Accidental parasites of time,
You, filthy microbes of cancer,
Ephemera of invincible eternity,
You, who try to fill your vanity
With abominable crimes,
You, insensible butchers of animals,
Notorious destroyers of pastures,
You, contaminators of oceans,
Deleterious polluters of rivers,
You, menacing beings of harmony,
Transgressors of universal laws,
You,
Who deliberately have put me through
The tormenting agony of dying
By
Strewing your treacherous dark web of
Your unworthy ambitions, all over my face,
Shadowing my generous fertility and
Rendering me sterile,
Behold,
For the time has come for you
To feel my wrath and my fury
Boiling lava over you
To flow every day,
Kneel,
Your tiny mortal beings
In front of the immortal cosmos,
For the shiny heavy sword of
Universal justice,
Punisher of transgressions, guardians of
The eternal laws,
Over your thoughtless heads to fall
With vengeance and rage
Decapitating the most of you and
Those who would survive
Shall feel the torturing pain in
Their hearts
For
Uncountable years!*
* This poem I wrote in 1985 in Montreal, Canada when, as a co-founder of a peace movement, was making efforts to raise conscientiousness to save mother earth. It was posted here on the 28th of November 2012 with the title:"The Rage of Mother Earth". Now, with minor editing, is re-posted with its original title of 1985: "THE MOURNING OF MOTHER EARTH." THIS IS A STERN WARNING TO ALL OF US WHO DESTROY HER: REMEMBER NOT MUCH TIME IS LEFT TO SAVE OUR PLANET AND OURSELVES!
-
**'Worst is yet to come': Disastrous future ahead for millions worldwide due to climate change, report warns. So it came to pass. What I dreaded back in 1985 is here, according to the UN report. The question is this: What can we do? What should we do? What we would do? LET US DO THE BEST WE CAN TO SAVE OUR EARTHLY HOME!
***I wanted to include this poem in the PoertySoup upcoming Anthology but poetrySoup says it has too many lines!
Structure of the Man
Hour arrived,
Proclaiming first light,
As a shower of mellow sunbeams
Smiled on the foundation laid
For the structure of the man.
And he began to ascend.
Time fused together
An empirical patchwork,
Mirroring the passage of pain and joy,
And slowly and meticulously
Each part melded together,
As a solidarity formed,
And his very existence
Was tested,
As each piece of the puzzle
Fit into place.
And he stood invincible.
Highways ventured off
To ambiguous tributaries,
Triggering decisions to snap into place
And simultaneously causing consequences,
As he played the game of life.
Taking more risks,
He constantly hoped
All would be well,
But a shadow started to form in his mind.
And he wondered why.
The threshing of the merciless hammer
Sank to the bottomless pit of his heart,
And he postponed action for awhile,
As his shell showed the wear and tear
Of his sorrow.
Fine lines, weaker eyes, grayed hair
Landscaped his outward show,
Yet he still found laughter
In roundabout places.
And he pondered more.
Reality unhurriedly and deliberately crept in,
And the bitter truth hit him hard.
A barren emptiness pierced his structure.
Try as he may
To make it go away,
It stood its ground,
As a formidable foe,
Reigning in its scheming majesty,
As it devoured him whole.
And he trembled.
On auto drive,
Days and nights became one,
As a robotic sameness
Mocked and tormented him,
Engulfing his dreams and his hopes
For happiness and purpose.
He forgot about all the exciting possibilities
And relegated himself to a solitary confinement,
As the fissure widened.
And he suffered.
Out of the blue,
Fresh blueprints renovated his perception,
As reinforcement seemed inevitable-
Ready to strengthen his original splendor.
He liked the design
Because it reminded him of his original plan
Of magnitude
Of dignity
Of respect.
And he accepted the proposal.
Layers of veneer removed,
Revealing the beautiful pattern
Still buried within but not lifeless,
And the lights switched on,
As everyone saw who he truly was.
Admiration exceeded even his wildest imagination
As all who passed
Could not help but notice the change from within.
And he stood tall once again.
As everyone marveled
At the beautiful structure of the man
Society Lies
My best friend got raped by a man she knew
He covered her mouth and whispered in her ear and then he came inside her
Now we are sitting here without a plan wondering when or how are we supposed to get out of this mess
Waiting on her next period hoping that it came
It’s 2012 and my family just got bigger
An my brother in law whom I devoted my love too cause he was my brother
Stretch out his hands and told me to be quiet and spoke words of distaste and now
Tell no one for sure they would not understand
Now my sister is pregnant and
I’m too young to understand why it aches in my thighs but they won’t understand so I must lie, I must lie
It’s 2015 and I’m dating a guy and I hold his hand and he whispers in my ears
But why does it still ache in my thighs so I lie because I must lie
It’s 2018 and I’ll always be afraid of the fact that I can’t swim
And the crash of every wave will forever haunt me in my sleep
For as long as I live
It’s 2019 and I have a boyfriend and I live like a queen because I’ve been achieving my dreams
But the crash of the wave still haunts me in my dreams
I’m invincible and so damn naïve I believed I was protected because I lived on a screen
Because no one would dare violate me again
I’ve earned that much
Until a man I don’t know touched my leg
But I don’t want that I just wanted to wear my short dress
And I wake up the next morning and I find myself in a trance
Because the crash of the wave still haunts me in my dreams
And the boyfriend I have he won’t understand
There is blood everywhere but is it mines
It’s just the death of yet another loves’ live
Hold on a minute.
I’ve worked every day of my life to be where I am
I’ve pied the piper and lived out my dreams
Decorated my pain
And showed up in vain
So what do you mean this happened to me
You can’t put your hands on me
I’m supposed to be safe now.
I’ve earned it.
And it’s 2020 and I’ve realized that nobody is safe as long as she is alive,
And every friend that I have has a story like mine
So listen and be a voice for those that have prisoned lips
Even for those that had to grow up to young
For every story counts,
For every voice should be heard
And every woman should be safe someday
But today isn’t that day and who knows when it would be!
