I knew there would be a time
The day the Angels marched
To the River Styx they headed
There's evil to be torched
Lucifer and his lurid
To our surface they have risen
As they corrupt, plunder and kill
Our survivors to their hell like prisons
To eradicate this evil
The depths they need to go
Combat instead of mediation
To match them blow by blow
They meet at the gates of Hades
On mass with shields and swords
In evils, dreaded hellish eyes
The might, as the angels hoard
Lightening flashes zag
The cue for them to attack
In delta formation they swoop
Heroism, there will be no lack of that
Weapons blessed by higher
Cut down the lowest dregs of all
Winged saviour's all of them
In the end will stand so tall
This planet will remember
The day the Angels marched
When evil was finally defeated
Beaten, earthed and torched

I tried today and failed again
I’ve tried so long I don’t know when
It ever went the way of which I planned
I’ve given up on wondering why
I’ve learned it doesn’t help to cry
Nor does it pay to try and understand
But each time that I stumbling fall
I rise with my back gainst the wall
Resolved to bury disappointment’s ire
With: “Just keep going, day by day
Don’t ever let it have its way”
That’s what I tell myself to feed the fire
That burns inside my beating heart
And urges, “Make another start”
Don’t worry that you’ve failed each time before”
“Just make sure that you try again
For if you do so surely then”
The day will come when you’ll have your reward”

Every day is a little more special
With every breath we take
With every moment that passes by
The impressions that we make
With each breath we are given
The first could be the last
Simply making the best of them
Let your present be your past
Brave enough to answer
Any beckoned call
With strength enough to face life
The toughest battle of all
Every day that we are here
Each moment will be blessed
We stash away our sadness
Striving for happiness
Sometimes things don’t go our way
When our hurting takes center stage
When anger overwhelms us
To the point of a burning rage
Soon however it comes to pass
And the pain will slowly fade
Light emerges from the darkness
As we walk out from the shade
Let every breath have meaning
With purpose to each moment in time
Never forgetting how to smile
While moving to the rhythm of the rhyme
We dance with love awhile
For every moment this heart beats
For every breath of fresh air
The blessing of friends and family
And precious moments we share
These words are not forgotten
They reside deep in my heart
For everyday is worth living
Each waking moment a start
Oh take good words
Oh hear me now
For my voice I lift in blessings of pure delight,
And the spirits of good fellowship
is the call for joy tonight,
For not a child born of woman
from this day forth
Will ever know of limitations,
For the views of few can not undo
What happened on this occasion,
Let us not as we have
look for past injustice to waver in tone,
For in truth I do say to you
you can’t undo what’s set in stone,
For such as the greatest of the potter’s wheel
without the fire could never be,
The synonym applies without once being slaves
our victory would be incomplete,
Never the less let us not permit
that we rejoice in the former way one man treated another,
For it be not designed by the divine
that the son of man be better than his bother,
For all are equally shortened from his glory
and by his hands it was undone,
For it was in his will when he spoke the words “In the beginning”
that we shall over come,
And though this be not our final battle
a mere speck of the final victory,
We celebrate this mild stone of a long coming
that many fought to see,
For by many’s blood, sweat, and tears
did this come to be,
So for ever more we will cherish this day
as the day the world was free

NOTE: A young college football player who plays for a team that I follow was seriously hurt this
past weekend. I wrote this poem in honor of that young man and in hopes of a speedy
recovery.
The scarlet warrior with foe in sight,
Stops the advance with all his might.
First, a roar of great celebration;
Then a silencing of the elation.
Prideful eyes from thousands of fans,
Watch attentively with folded hands.
On the ground lies one of their own;
A knight fighting gallantly for his home.
From the banks of the ole Raritan,
Prayers and thoughts for Eric LeGrand.
Representing his school and his state;
Of his courage and valor there’s no debate.
Playing a game he dearly loves;
Blessed with ability given from above.
Now relies on his inner strength,
And all our support to every length.
I only know Eric as a Rutgers’ fan,
But some day would like to shake his hand,
And on that day when he retakes the field,
On my knees, to God, I’ll give thanks and kneel.
Reaching deep into the night,
time slowly passes on.
Daylight hours have passed from sight
and it's sounds are now gone.
Gone are sounds that people make;
this day some have labored.
Nightfall brings a welcome break,
a calm that is savored.
Here in stillness, thoughts come forth
recalling day's affairs.
Written down, for what it's worth,
I take this time to share.
The point of what I'm sharing-
times reaching through the night.
God's peace keeps me from bearing
the cares of next day's light.
For now, all lays in silence.
It's here, I hear Him speak.
Warring thoughts lose violence
as now, it's God I seek.
As I spend time with Him here,
The more I know He's there.
In this calm, His voice is clear.
He's with me, strength is shared.
Time reaches on to the light
and all that next day brings.
I walk by faith, not by sight
and to His strength I cling.
O, what it was He did for me
He will do also for you.
He opened my eyes that I would see
His Path in a life that is new.
There is nothing that I can Give Him
than just this one day at a time.
This new life that I find myself in
is more than just staying in line.
To know Him and not just a bleak set of rules
is the great promise to which I cling.
I will receive in that day a crown with jewels
from the service that love for Him brings.
As He pulled me out of the darkness
into the Love of His Glorious Light,
I'll encourage others to reach for His best
And they too will receive their sight.

EVERY DAY IS A NEW DAY
Though in a dark crucible
Cruel fate for you.
A hearth built
And for the crow
of the cock, with
frail hope
your dawn waits.
Disheartened though
for your dreams
By a dark veil
of vagueness wreathed,
And your easterly
light, dark fate eclipsed
But never with the eyes of yesterday
into tomorrow gaze
For everyday, a new day is
The morn, a new hope it heralds.
And it’s benign ray a courage for
Conquest over cruel fate it brings.
Cloaked in sulleness
Robed in nadir
On you, eerie fate
spitefully smiles,
for a dark thorny path
To your eyrie
it carved for you.
And even for a glint of light
you grope.
And oft time into the ditch of
futility you fall though.
In your impregnable dreams
find a strength to stand
But, never stand, for behind
To look, but to ask yourself why..
For everyday, a new day is
The morn, a new hope it heralds.
And it’s benign ray a courage for
Conquest over cruel fate it brings.
