Premium Member Its Not Ether Its Ei-Ther

they said there was no ether
only a frequency medium
a carrier of all that waves

well if there be no ether
then there has to be an ei-ther

words are sets
many meanings
within meanings

but there is a limit
before confusion
destroys order

the limit has a name
the feigenbaum constant
similarity in all natures cycles

like music notes
octaves and frequencies
the universe reality

all come into sync
with a medium-average
a frequency density

a mind is the perception
of sensed frequencies

it is sound of music
the universe plays

what's in a word
a medium
an average

colors of the rainbow
the shape of things
thought

words are like butterflies
they cause effects
order or confusion

Premium Member Just a Christian

In a word, be kind
In a thought, be kind
In a heart, be kind

In a soul, be light – shine
For the One who is alive
Eternally – He is mine, eternally
He is the light of the world
He is the light of my soul
He is the light that made me whole!

Without Him, I would be doubt, dark and dim
Like the feelings that overwhelm
Everyone who doesn’t put their faith in Him
The reason I am forgiven of my sin
The reason that I know Him, the gentle friend
Who gave up His life so that I could know Him
And live forevermore – in heaven, where He is the light
That reflects true hope, true love, kindness that reminds

He paid the greatest price…. He became the sacrifice
For those of us who believe He is the way to paradise

Premium Member Pondering

Sitting here pondering the worlds state of affairs
I am wondering who really cares
I do not understand
Why is everyone singing in the hate band
News
Is the blues
Everywhere I look
Life is took
Hate is growing
It is showing
So much war
Seems they can't close that door
What's more
Hate is running free
For all to see
People dying
Less are crying
Turning our hearts black
Love, the world does lack
Hate
.....Is now our fate....
For so long
I have heard the war song
Raised voices
Making bad choice
Darkness fills the sky
As more people die
Hope starts to look thin
We can not let hate win
Would be a sin
As the world loses the light
More join the fight
Freedom it would seem
Is lost like some dream
Hates blanket starts to draw tight
Darker becomes the night
When no one knows what is right
Only what is wrong
Hard to be strong
In a word without light
......Nothing would ever seem right....

1980 we began to learn ( about health and safety)
Not at every turn.'
As the decades went, its demands just grew.' From
Those quite acceptable, no one realised the end extent
Mind you.'
There was always, some charge; and info gathered?
Sheets of triplicate paper in bleather!
Still it was all for the good of everyone! So you buckled
Down and got stuff done.'
And if you didn't it was understood.! You could be a bad
Human..You really could??
Then 2020 there was a scare.' Victims were falling in China
Just about everywhere'
People in 'white boiler suits' sprayed mysterious chemicals
Could these be bought?
Yet no info on what the substances could be
Turned out as soap and water.!!
Which was almost free.' The media stalked hospital
Wards grim and extolling
This untoward, and most debilitating thing soon
Doc's were on t v' to moan and wring.' Hands and
The last ounce of will, from the trusting (herds?) That word was ( the trigger one)
Does this all seem absurd? Next you must lock yourselfs away, don't be fools? or worse, bad humans.?
You should 'just'follow some rules,) meanwhile real herio's would be
On an anti-dose, working while skne nurses on tik tok' were 'twerking?'
This wonder 'drug ciuld be years away?' Maybe a decade.!! We'll
Be locked away.??
And yet thanks to this 'fast paced situation' after just eight weeks into 2021
There was a (great sensation) the boffins had pulled of a coup.'
Thats something made up..In a word ir two.'
This was straight 'from dark winter' an old exersize a thing by milatary
In the U S! Wow What a surprise.?
There is a colonel, i think James Bush, he got unwilling..When it came
To the push.!
The rest is history (of which we're part) and a side-lined reality, i ask
All reading will you do your part??

In a Word

Just in the way one says things ends up setting the tone
With the baggage that brings, more than could be known
Though it's from deep in the heart being too free to reign
Allowing that other instinctive part and thus causing pain

What you wanted to say may have even been appropriate
But in so making your way you soon got caught up in a fit
And other things came to mind and it just went from there
Now you're in a real bind, oh how life always seems unfair

Maybe next time take some advice to train that other part
In who has paid your price and the pure love in His Heart
Momentarily reflect on this and start talking to Him instead
For all the anger will be remiss as His thoughts fill your head

This will only take a minute and saving you so many more
I'm glad you lent me your ear if even to just open that door
For as to what you will find and as to how you will soon feel
For one you'll have peace of mind as the heart begins to heal

Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turneth away wrath:
but grievous words stir up anger

Hidden In a Word

in the beginning,
there was a cathedral
of silence so long,
I could discern blood
congealing,
my face had cracked
in a mirror of denial

and as the horror
of a putrid filth
unmasked in its entirety

I hid,in my castle of refusal
and it all lay in silent morning…
as pieces of self fell away,
splintering to pierce the dawn

with a roar of upheaval
from Africa’s shores,
a keen of mortality
shatters eardrums

continents away
a campaign continues

still,
I run away
into smaller and smaller
rolls of my ballpoint,
consumed in the ink

words flow unchecked as
veins bulge with effortless zeal

All blessing the written word,
as each cornerstone
reinforces my castle walls

THE UNSPOKEN WORD

What's in a word,
That gives it such power;
That with a mere greeting,
You can bring feelings dour?

It isn't always in what is said,
What's left unsaid speaks too;
For often the unspoken word,
Rings loud and clear and true.

The things we say can bring such pain,
That often we forget,
What's left unsaid can hurt us too,
And fill us with regret.

Why did I not tell her this?
Why did I tell him that?
What's left unsaid often begets,
More than we thought begat.

Be clear about the words you speak,
And clearer what's not said;
For later you will rue it all,
As it rings inside your head.

Regretting what should not be said,
Rueing what should have been,
Said, unsaid have equal power,
It seems they're evil twins.

Words are like a weapon,
Like any knife or gun,
Depending on who wields it,
It builds or brings undone.

It began with her dear husband Yudi
The first Nathan we'd ever met--
His friendly smile, his charming wit
Helped my wife and me forget--
That OUR families were not all intact.

He invited us for a Sabbath meal
Where we met his lovely wife--
She served us homemade soup and other fare
All prepared with a momma's special care--
Shirley Nathan had just enriched our life.

The Nathan place became our second home
We became regular Sabbath guests there
In bits and pieces we learned of Shirley's life
Of her selfless service to her family
  --and to people everywhere.

In a word or two, she was beloved
Of family, friends, of students one and all
She loved us, cared for us, taught us--
Thanks to her, we stood tall, never small.

Shirley was my wife's best friend
A friend both firm and steadfast
A person she could count on in a pinch
Their friendship, my wife sensed, would forever last...

And that it did, to her dying day
When Shirley Nathan was laid to rest--
  A woman, a wife, a mother, a teacher,
A grandma, a friend to all who reached her
    A woman for the ages
The very best of the best!
    R.I.P. now, dear Shirley
~ With love from all you've blessed.

Shirley Nathan passed from this world to the next
on the first night of Channukah, 2018 (5778)
surrounded by her adoring family, at age 86,
not a wrinkle lined her joyous face!

I do not like the word different…it cuts too much like a knife
It adds to the trouble in our world…it causes so much strife.

When we see someone as different fear seeps into our minds
and where there’s fear…animosity and prejudice are never far behind.

What starts out merely as a way to tell that person apart from you or me
somehow ends up with people treating one another differently.

We end up in a word of labels, a world of discrimination and entropy.
A world of injustice, a world of oppression, of wars and bigotry.

A world where suspicion and distrust rule and seeds of animosity are sown
all caused when we find traits in people that are different from our own.

What if we looked at one another in a completely different way?
What if there is a word that would keep our fear at bay?

What if we weren’t afraid of diversity but reveled in it’s mystique
and instead of seeing others as different…we saw them as unique?

Perhaps then, in each life, we might focus on the good things that we see
and in the end create a world filled with peace and harmony.

I imagine by now many of you are thinking this man is different, he’s a freak
but I suggest I am not different…I, like you, am totally unique!

(Did you notice when you called me different a host of negatives abound
but when you use the word unique...see how wonderful I sound?)

It seems to me we should strive for a world where differences are not critiqued…
a world where people are more accepting…
now wouldn’t that be unique!

Premium Member WORD LADDER

I like to solve word ladders…as a puzzle I think they’re great!
Did you know Lewis Carroll invented word ladders back in 1878?

Yes, the same Lewis Carroll who in 1865 I understand…
wrote a story about Alice…who followed a rabbit running late
into a wonderland.

In a word ladder you start with a word…
The object is for that word to be reversed…
by changing one letter at a time you make a chain of words…
and when you're finished there is a link between the last word and the first.

For instance let’s take the word love…
change the ‘l’ to a ‘d’ and you have dove.

Change the ‘v’ to ‘t’ and you have dote.
Then change the ‘o’ to an ‘a’ and you have date…
Change the ‘d’ to an ‘h’ and voila…
you have quickly changed love into hate.

A word ladder works in both directions…
in case that’s something you were thinking of
We can start with the word hate and using the same process
change hate back into love.

But life is not a word game is it…played with paper, pencil or pen…
and love which can quickly change to hate…
Does not change so quickly back again.

Perhaps Lewis Carroll provided a solution…
reminding us if we want to find our Wonderland…it’s is not too late…
When he wrote, ‘Oh, ’tis love ’tis love that makes the world go round…
and no where did he mention hate.

So here’s a little something inspired by Lewis and his Alice
that I’ve been thinking of…
What if the word ladder we’re creating in life
begins and ends with love.
