an idyll escape for this heir
to the throne of the mountain king,

the well built “grand Etta face dame”

whose head must veer

blotted out never never never land
eclipsed by transient rubble,
thence vinyl city (dis) graced sacred space,
no doubt a great ache,

Key Verse – Daniel 6:22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

Death Beside the Road
Held in my arms,
fragile you are... barely alive.
I can feel your faint breath on my cheek.
I can even somehow hear,
your small heartbeat.
Feather-light, that of a small bird...
Nearly stopped, almost gone.
At what cost the weighted balance,
of your soul?,
my soul?,
our measured worth...
Everything and nothing,
given for something,
no one wanted anyway.
The world is confused.
The season is not cold or hot,
but the edge of heaven,
is frozen space,
the center of hell,
an ever burning pit...
in the far north.
The power of any man;
willing to drop to his knees,
bow his head,
plead his sin...
openly,
humbly,
repentantly...
before,
God,
ever has His ear.
The angels He will send;
swords of fire,
wings of glory,
His Son...
Brightest Star,
in the skies;
both dark and light,
day and night,
forever!
When it comes to being a good father what do most young black men see?
Can they picture their fathers passing down any legacies?
Do they remember any male bonding or talks on how to be good men?
Do they have any perceptions or even comprehend?
Unfortunately too many households are single parent with only a mother in residency
Caused by incarceration, unemployment and dysfunctional inadequacies
Too many don't have a clue of what a good father should be
As the father factor in their lives was one of obscurity
But God is the ultimate father figure to each and every man
And if you desire to be like Him read His words and follow His plans
To become a good father you must examine the Holy Scriptures
And hopefully you'll be able to obtain a good father picture
Now tapping into God's heavenly Twitter account
And Facebooking the Gospel to see what its all about
Fully prepared to formulate, cultivate and stimulate your spiritual life
So that your behavior and way of thinking lines up with Jesus the Christ
A picture of a good father is a man who leaves a financial legacy
So that his children won't exist in a state of abject poverty
By showing them how to save and how to invest
Leaving a fruitful inheritance and a full hope chest
A picture of a good father is a man whose vine is rooted in a strong foundation
And structured to lift him up in godly formation
Respectful, resilient, loving, loyal and kind
Of strong moral conviction and secure in his mind
Knowing who he is and what he could be
And having healthy relationships with every member of his family
So if you're broken, bitter, angry and have any doubts
Seek God and a professional to help you work it out
And i say this to all women and I hope you receive
You need to let a man be a man to his family
Stop disrespecting him and put your anger and pride to the side
He is doing the best he can so work with him by walking stride for stride
A picture of a good father is a man concerned about his community
Who comprehends we live in a global society
A man who gets involved and not stay isolated
As we are all a part of this world that God created
A picture of a good father is a man who loves and respects his family and community
A man strongly rooted, striding humbly and secure in his spirituality
On a day a number of centuries ago
John Calvin met the great heroine, Joan of Arc,
they both had much indeed in common
in their lives, on God's side, they made their mark
Both were born and came from France
so language was not a problem at all
they had both been mightily used of God
humbly both bowed to obey God's call
John spoke admirably of Joan's bravery
asking did you really hear a voice?
one so audible so clear to be God
oh yes Joan said it was no ordinary noise
Joan spoke of Calvin's work in Geneva
what was it like to see such transformation?
John answered it wasn't me, the spirit of God
it was His work to speak through God's revelation
So much to share can't tell it all now
John and Joan were now real true friends
their great love for Jesus their saviour
who died for their sins for their souls to mend
(I've brought together John Calvin the Swiss reformer(1509-1564) and Joan of Arc who rescued France from English domination. (1412-1431), both French by birth and both mightily used of God. They both lived in different periods of history but thought it would be nice to bring them together and imagine what friends they could be)
Oh do, let us dream, Lord, of a peaceful and shining, promising day.
To realize the value of poets we know, and incude the ignored or unknown!
Refusing the faces of negativity, humbly walking in your ways, shown.
Always remind us, please, to go to the light, where thy glory, doth lay!
I realize that not all of us have a family to sit down and have a dinner to share.
But if you do, light your candles to make this confused world, radiantly bright!
After dinner, go to the family window forthwith, inhale Spring’s sweetest night.
See your silhouettes in the moonlight, on a tender carpet on this evening rare!
Poem 1
3/9/2024
I write to you
from a quiet place within,
where words
gather like wind through the leaves,
a murmur of truths
that neither time nor fear can erase.
You speak to me
like the tide to the moon,
a silent and inexorable pull.
I see your questions, your fears,
your tender hope
masked beneath a cloak once of self-doubt.
And so,
I answer with the language of the heart,
for that is the only language I truly know.
I speak of being an old man,
afraid
of both success and failure,
watching
the world spin without you.
But oh,
the world does not spin
the world does not without you—it spins because of you.
Every breath you take,
every thought you have drempt,
every kindness you give
is a thread
in the tapestry of this living,
moving universe.
Success, as others know it,
is but a fleeting mirage.
True success
is the courage to feel deeply,
to love, to wonder, to embrace to endure
so pick one last fight a wrong not made right so that
another may endure too write.
The velvet sky
I now mention that they hold the stars
as witnesses to your life,
and they do not make judgement against you.
They see the roots of your being,
the tall trees of your yearning,
the bushes that stay green
even when unseen by the others.
You are not trapped,
though it may feel that it's so.
The heart, like the wind,
is boundless.
If you can give love—yes,
even love to yourself—you will find
that it flows back to you unseen in all ways.
Grateful, you say,
for the family that you never see.
That gratitude,
quiet though it may be, is a bridge.
It is never too late to cross,
even in thought, even in a prayer
whispered up into the great void into the night.
Empathy, the great gift of understanding,
shines through your words.
That is the way to love—by seeing,
truly seeing it all, the world
and all of its pain, its beauty,
relentless in life.
If knowledge is, as you say,
that he himself knows,
then you are already just and wise.
I ask this of you
can I be loved before the end of my life?.
To you my friend, you are loved,
even now.
The valleys know it,
the trees feel it, and I see it in your spirit.
Keep that spark alive,
for it will guide you along the long road
you call home.
I am humbly yours, in deep understanding,
Merry Christmas to you, always in love,
I am your's

Standing at the sink there,
all is set before her view;
she works through problems one by one--
of course, she's thought of you.
She deftly scans the skyline,
loved ones cast before her there;
and thinks about their struggles--
weighing each with tender care.
With quickened mind she courses
through a thousand ways and more,
to heal the aches and pains they feel--
these precious ones, she bore.
With mother's heart she rushes
to the aid of every child;
so many battles fought and won--
still standing there, and mild.
But now, the sink is empty,
and the dishes in their place;
another meal has come and gone--
and off, the children race.
Still, she stands there humbly,
as the evening claims the day;
and seems for just a moment more,
to gaze out, 'cross the way.
She bows her head then, reverently,
(the angels gathr'ing near);
and weary shoulders, shuddering--
she sheds a loving tear:
"Oh, Father mine, please bless them,
and keep them safe I pray,
until the morning comes again--
I've done my best this day."
There are so many mothers
in this world, it seems to me
(and no one way that mothering
should ever have to be);
But all I meet will measure
'gainst this mother that I knew--
Still standing at the sink there,
precious family 'fore her view.

Recently being on holiday at Strathpeffer
one day taking a countryside walk
so pleasant walking among the woods
time passed by noticing no clock
Having walked quite a fair distance
decided to turn around to walk back
then halfway along met a man
who was struggling along the track
this man stopped us with a question to ask
'Who is the greatest man in world history?'
so we said that man is Jesus Christ
no doubt at all our answer to this task
Then in midst of the conversation spoke
the purpose of earth, stars, and moon
agreeing that God did make it all
in His greatness everything by a stroke
1 Corinthians 13 speaks of perfect love
Galatians 5 tells of true spiritual fruit (vs22-24)
our walking friend clearly agreed
showing we all knew the right shoot
Then our friend posed one more Q
what does God require of His own?
justice to be done also love kindness
brings humility to walk along God's zone(Micah 6:8)
These characteristics found in holy scripture
Micah chapter six verse eight
such a blessing to meet this friend
sharing so much of God's open gate
(On holiday at Strathpeffer in the Scottish highlands last year, my wife Christine and I met a man on a country walk and this is our experience.)
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires."
Galatians 5: 22-24(esv)
"He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the Lord require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God?"
Micah 6: 8 (esv)
