Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run
All the simple inhabitants of our villages, towns and cities
Are waiting for you with tears in their eyes
Come O rain come, throw your showers sublime
On fields, soil, animals, trees and birds flying
Even the trees and birds, animals and herds, Human and insects
All are gloomy and sad, with rankles on foreheads
With worries on their faces, as their hopes are getting buried
Without a shower to wipe their rolling tears from eyes
Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run
I know, why you are offended and not listening our prayer
But the animals and birds, our simple villagers, animal herds
Even fields drying up in excessive heat do not know
Why you are offended and not listening their prayers
Oh pardon them as they do not know
The misdeeds of those, who are spreading cities
And are cutting trees, forest and are eliminating fields
In the name of modern living
They go on spreading cities after cities
And industries after industries
These less blessed species of humans, do not want to know
The priceless value of mother earth
And the value of each drop of water and rain
Which comes due to green mountains and glaciers
Trees and plants, fields and ponds,
Lakes and rivers, they all are the
Darling children of the God of Rains.
To appease you O God of Rains
We are making our prayers with folded hands
You are and you were always our dearest
O God of Rains, on you we have offered our prayers
And have offered since ages our songs and lyrics
And even our heart and souls
Come O rain come, throw your showers
On this part of earth and do not run
The soil of earth and air also is boiling with heat
The birds and animals and all living creatures
Are waiting with their tired eyes on sky
To search a piece of clouds, which can extinguish their fire
With showers on their fields, plants and trees
Bless them O God of Rains, with your sublime drops of rains

Ang Alamat ng Walang Forever
Bakit at paano nga ba
Na ang tawag sa
Kanilang isinuko o isinurrender
Laban man o hindi ay “Walang Forever”?
Kapag nais ka nilang sumuko
Sasabihin nila ito
Uso ito sa mga bina-busTED
Bangungot ng mga broken-hearTED
Narinig ko na ito sa TED mga 2013
Bago ako doon pangalawang beses paalisin
At nang ako sa Crim i-transfer
Isinulat kong motto: “CapSU Forever”
Aba! Meron paring ganong bukambibig
Hindi ba't kaysarap sa pandinig?!
Parang hangarin ko ay kinokontra
Bakit? Ano bang ginawa ko sa kanila?!
TED o Crim ba ang talagang may pakana?...
O meron lamang nagdidikta sa kanila?
WALAng mahirap kung WALAng korap
Sabi ng may pakana ng DAP
DAPalan music ay laganap
Para akong china-chopchop
Chachara… chachaRA…
Mwah2x! Chup2x!... sabi ng kanta
Charap na charap ang panot na beybi
Sa nilulutong “break-up” ni mineral mommy
Na habang kanilang tinatapos
Bumagsak isang mabagsik na unos…

sumagi na naman
sa aking kaisipan
ang pangungulila--
sa natamong nakaraan,
sa matatamong kinabukasan,
sa tinatahak na kasalukuyan
pilit na pinipiga ang puso't isipan
sa 'di mawaring kadahilanan--
malamang dahil may gusto ang puso
na ibigkas
'yun nga lang--
dahil ako ay Ako,
hindi ko mawari't maisulat
isang malalim na buntong hininga
isang malalim na paglunok
ng saloobin--
pilit na binabaon,
ginagapos
--ayaw makawala
pigil na pinapalaya
dahil ako ay duwag... .
ito ako ngayon sa kasalukuyan
bukas kaya?
Ganito pa rin ako?

--outside the kitchen window, hanging on a wire---
a trill that pierces me,
for some reason
I thought all have gone
yet,

sings again

Patradoot or The Messenger20 /Many
English version by

Originally written in Hindi by my
Late father Dr. Amar Nath Kapoor
It would look as if, all the Swans have left their
Heavenly dwelling of Mansarover*, dear letter,
And they have come here to pick the pearls,
Falling from the water game of these beautiful girls.
Some where you would see and witness, dear letter,
Boats packed with young girls and women,
In most colorful dresses coming towards you,
You would be charmed to see their love for their motherland.

independence as a true follower of Gandhi Dr. Amar Nath
Kapoor left active politics and devoted rest of his life in
writing easy mass literature and wrote many Dramas,
Poetry books, epics. All his other literary
works were mainly written from 1955 to 1990.
He left this mortal world in 1994.

May angkin ding pag-aari sila

Patradoot or The Messenger12 /Many
English version by
Ravindra K Kapoor
Nature’s gifted beautiful land of India,
Would show, splashes of its alluring beauty,
You would witness, rows of green trees amid fields,
As if, Nature itself decorates the fields of Indian farmers.
Children’s playing in the fragrance of sand and dust in villages,
Would bind you, to look at their simple smiling faces,
They would bloom like a Rose with pleasure dear,
By seeing that you are watching them, from some where near.

Let me try, spoon-feed me nor ever teach,
My big mouth said, help me reach to my bridge
Like olden-day gurus who would not preach,
Help me smooth out if you find a rough ridge
That allowed little light of truth to reach,
Stop utter darkness from declaring siege.
Just guide, help me old blockages to breach,
Let if some light enters from jutted ledge,
Just see, no doubts come from unforeseen edge.
I love exploring depths far from the beach
And acquire untapped ocean of knowledge,
Which, since childhood has been my quenchless itch….
Heck, wishing just a helping hand to stretch,
How I got grabbed, a self-goal, easy catch!

Note: I just wanted to give her a helping hand in her household chores, hoping to prove that I was not like others. But for my big mouth! As they say in Hindi: aa bail mujhe maar, a fool is always caught in his own words, this tongue-in-cheek sonnet shows.
Habang nilalakbay itong karagatan,
Puting walang galaw, iba nama'y pakipat-kipat

May angkin ding pag-aari sila
