For the moment let's get intimate
forget the lyrical sentences
I'm out spoken/heart broken
I'm everything I wasn't
something that I never I was
In Love so deep,
sometimes I think how I got this way
and I gotta cry myself to sleep.
I sweet talked my way into her head
worked my way down to her jeans
but... I see a lot y'all
looking at me funny so I'll
explain to you exactly what I mean
you see, she approached me
when I was vulnerable & hurt
I met her at the bar scene
wit that little two top & little mini skirt
she spoke I spoke back
but while I was busy trying to relax
she was busy trying to fade to black
You see I needed her as much as she needed me
she believed in me and... I trusted her
she loved me and I lusted after her
but while these events were occurring
I guess she felt it was necessary
to talk me into going home with her
so I wouldn't have any worries
but when you're with a perfect stranger
sometimes it could get scary
so I tried to act like I was in a hurry
but she saw right threw me
maybe because my vision was a little blurry.
The intimacy I'm speaking of
goes a little deeper than love
burns a little more than slugs
and it bleeds more internally than the lost of blood.
The more intimate we got
the more I was feigning for her a lot
you know... the type love with every
moment you spend with her
be feeling like you shot,
thats what this is
it's a lethal injection and even though
we just met it wasn't no second guessing
because sometimes when you with the
opposite sex, just with eye contact
it can make you feel so wet.
Two years later I love her
but... she hates me
so since we ain't making love physically
It's just...
Lyrical Intimacy
Love
Love can feel like flying,
Soaring above the world below,
You feel unbreakable,
Like there’s nothing you don’t know.
Love can be quite shaky,
It can go up and down,
But when two people really care,
They choose to stick around.
Love can be unnerving,
Not sure where its going to lead,
But you think you have the answers,
Oh, that’s so naïve.
Love can be so painful,
It will likely make you cry,
When you approach a struggle,
Its always worth a try.
Love will break you to pieces,
When you lose your special one,
When it comes to purpose,
Youll feel like you have none.
Love will teach you lessons,
But will also leave a scar.
When you get your heart broken,
You learn more about who you are.
Muslims
One Muslim greeted me in the park yesterday. I said hello; completely unaware.
Another Muslim passed by the other day. I nodded and smiled; completely unaware.
Again a Muslim crossed my path and still; I remained unaware.
Theological stigma seems to elude me; completely unaware.
Wardrobe choices and ethnicities render me colorblind and ignorant. Yet I too am effected by sociology.
Media haunts my directive; completely unaware.
Fear lays deep within me. I am afraid of you—What you may do to me.
Heart broken and mislead by poor leadership; completely aware...
I ignore so many yet I attempt enlightenment.
I am completely unaware.
Muslims do not wear name tags labeling their lineage. I am not a Muslim; only willing to listen.
I believe in the power of the unknown.
A power which I do not seek to fully understand.
A man has a purpose.
A Muslim does too.
The fact remains that deep within my soul I truly believe in a reason for everything.
This reason, I believe is unreasonable.
And if we spend our days in search of the almighty answer(s) to life; we are bound to question.
You, I and Muslims alike are all...completely unaware.

dashed to pieces
on day of celebration.
shards of antiques
dishandled, cracked
and abused. pieces
of mother-daughter bond.
I can’t cry; tearbowl-eyes.
always collecting myself.
mom would say,
“Stop that, Kimmy…”
the glass shelf fell
couple days before
though Dad heard the crash
he didn’t glance at the curio
tea party event before the cock crows.
a royal wedding; mom with her daughters,
swag and fascinators, blossoming teacups
and saucers - great-grandma’s china
heart broken
in so many pieces
mom wanted me to have this collection
what would cause this eruption…

So excited, I was to be going
to dance at Purdue U...
And on a blind date, too!
Aunt Angie mixed her magic hair
potion,
To turn me into a blond bombshell.
Well, at least...that was her notion.
Tragically for me, my tresses turned
out to be chartreuse green!
I wept till there were no tears left.
Then on to the train, to meet my
fate- date.
I saw my date when the train arrived,
And pulled slowly into the station..
His face turned pale white
You would, too, if your date looked
like a ghoul, from the Woodstock Nation.
No winner was he to me, either!
A short nerdy type complete with
those nerd-glasses,too!
I clearly saw my destiny, I foresaw he would not go to the dance with me.
As right as rain, the nerd-fool called
later, so overcome with a cold was he.
That at the dance, he could not be.
I sat forlorn with tree green hair!
Utterly forlorn and sad in Purdue's
Student Union!
A PH.D, as astronomer, who, like a
Knight in shining armor, came to my
heart-broken need!
Takes one interested in the stars and
God's firmament
To envision this lost poetic soul at sea.
The dance was magnificent as was my
Savior Prince.
The compounds and the elements of our
universe, aligned!
And created the most celestial night ever.

I hid in a pile of leaves under the great oak tree,
hoping you'd never see,
the very things you begged of me.
But what you didn't know,
was that what I really craved was to be found by you,
to have you find me, and for you to feel loved in the finding.
You searched and searched and cried out for me,
perhaps you'd feel a foot, or a hand,
and each time I managed to hide once again.
You began cry aloud, "this games of fun no more, just come out to be with me!",
and weeping you sank to your knees.
And in my fear, in my foolish pride, I sought the lie of the leaf pile once more.
Then one day you left, the game had lost its power.
For now, it seemed, I was no longer in the leaf pile, and could never be found.
The old oak tree watched it all,
heart broken and withered,
that her beautiful leaves were given to such a woeful end.
I heard you call no more.
But then I heard the old oak tree thru my new despair,
She wispered to me gently,
"Shed my leaves and show yourself, you have so much to share.
Crawl out and find your love, and beg her, come drink your heart laid bare"
So out I did crawl, fears and wounds and all,
yet reeking from the years of hiding in that pile of leaves.
I want no greater thing than for my love to see,
the little wounded boy, who hid amongst the leaves.
Your words they stand eternally,
They’re words that cannot simply leave
They sink into my memory
Like stones set on misery
Tried to make some good of them,
Found it hard to call you a friend
Your truth was so bold
Time lost in their cold
Why do we smile so easy
For a photograph?
Why can’t life just be
Like a photograph?
You say no offense
No offense taken,
No, no heart broken
I’m strong, oh I’m stronger than the mouth that spoke
No heart broken
Do not awaken
A soul that’s about to choke-
Cause I will smile on...
I can't be what you make of me
I will smile on
No offense taken, with me
No offense taken, with me
Ghosts are haunting all my fears
Bursting at the gleam of tears
Can’t you see I’ve lived by it?
Made use of it, use of it?
Oh, has it changed you around?
No, don’t try to take it down
The hurt is set in stone
So let it sink alone
Why do we smile so easy
For a photograph?
Why can’t life just be
Like a photograph?
No offense taken,
No, no heart broken
I’m strong, oh I’m stronger than the mouth that spoke
No heart broken
Do not awaken
A soul that’s about to choke-
I will smile on
I won't be what you make of me
I will smile on
No offense taken with me
No offense taken
With me,
With me,
With me…
I wandered and I wondered,
About all the pieces of my life
That came together in a puzzle,
Causing so much strife
The struggle, loss, pain and betrayal at hand
Feeling at times, sinking in deep quicksand
Those many times my heart broken like a mirror,
I could see the many flaws that remain in me
I wandered and I wondered,
About all my days of joy
A playful life of inspiration
Like a child with a toy
Laughter freeing the spirit, as if nothing is wrong
Dancing with a smile, to every song
The many times my heart healed, ready to fly
Releasing all the burdens of asking some things why?
I wandered and I wondered,
About my destiny
So many paths I’ve taken
And still there’s so much to see
Impressions and visions, imagination on fire
Burning and yearning with inner desire
Then, the many times, my heart wanted you
Sending messages in the wind, in a dream, we flew
To pristine places, hand in hand
Where no-one has ever been, but you understand

writing is life
writing is feelings
feelings that need release
feelings that need telling
telling feelings in stories
telling in syllables
syllables falling on paper
syllables bleeding with grief
grief so deep
grief that leaves scars
scars on the soul
scars on my journey
journey of ups and downs
journey through life's mazes
mazes full of unkindness
mazes down unknown forest paths
paths that lead no where
paths that lead to beauty
beauty that makes me linger
beauty that is inspiring
inspiring me to stay
inspiring me to pen poems
poems of meandering streams
poems of twittering birds
birds singing me a symphony
birds delightful and beautiful
beautiful wildflowers
beautiful poetry
poetry mingled with life and nature
poetry from the depth of my heart
heart broken
heart that is still healing
healing from grief
healing from bullies
bullies from my childhood
bullies that still find me
me, a gentle girl
me, a quiet girl
girl who only wants tranquility
girl who only wants serenity
serenity to share
serenity that is deep
deep and hard to write
deep stories written
written full of pain
written words
words falling red
words bleeding
bleeding . . .
red . . .

You may not hear the sounds
But they are coming in leaps and bounds.
Hearts being broken in two
And no one knows just what to do.
In this world of uncertainties
No one knows just what they’ll be.
Searching for love - yet wanting to play the field
When true love comes , they won’t know how to feel.
Love is not a physical attraction
But an emotional reaction.
So many explanations for the feelings of love
And all are sent from the heavens above.
Now you may think that you know it all
And on the wayside these words will fall.
But will you be the next heart broken in two ?
THAT MY FRIEND DEPENDS ON YOU !
