I was two
Staring up into this twinkling smile
Of an angel, someone I admired
My beautiful mother
The heart of my whole life
I was ten
Staring at the same woman again
She hadn’t changed
Only grown more loved
More amazing
I was fifteen
Staring out the car window
Ignoring this woman’s embrace
And the sadness on her face
When I disregarded her
I was twenty-five
Staring into the eyes I so loved
The lady who gave me life
And breathed hope into my heart
She was smiling
I was forty
Staring at the elderly light
Fading like the shadows of night
She gave me so much insight
Into the soul, so inspiring
I was fifty-five
Staring into kind, gentle eyes
Wondering how she could be so nice
When I wasn’t quite so kind
She reminds me that I am loved
I was thinking about her today
And I knew that blessings had come my way
When I grew to be her beloved child
The one who knows love is the answer
And love this alive is forever dancing
Singing to the heart and soul
Carrying light to the darkest shadows
Blessing beyond words
Love like this can’t be measured
It is surely a gift from heaven!
The attire was set ablaze,
Consumed by a mystical haze,
A moment lost in sudden daze,
All sparked by a reckless craze.
He poured his heart in investments,
Joy climbed high with increments.
But wealth, with weighty requirements,
Turned triumphs into bleak laments.
And when the errors made their rounds,
He found himself in ruin’s bounds.
Instead of wins and hopeful dreams,
His world unraveled at the seams.
He set his own attire aflame—
All he’d gathered, all his claim.
Before he even saw the shame,
The ashes whispered his own name.
He traded cauldrons for a bowl,
Chased greed, losing self-control.
Blinded by desire’s toll,
Now stripped and shattered, heart and soul.
Under the sun, his treasures burned,
From riches to rags, the tables turned.
No cloth to cover, just empty strife,
A glimpse of his once lavish life.
The fire took it all away—
Dreams that seemed too bright to fray.
He watched them crumble in dismay,
And tried to fight, but lost his way.
Now peace eludes his troubled mind,
Extinction comes, the ties unwind.
In pools of tears, he finds no rest,
For silly desires that failed the test.
The fire roared and took its prize,
Leaving him to realize
Success demands more than his eyes—
It needs the heart, the soul, the rise.
He got what he wanted, then it was clear,
Desire brings more than it may appear.
Without wisdom or patience near,
He lost what he held dear.
Regret now cools his fiery pride,
He sees his blindness magnified.
Relief? It comes in waves so thin,
Yet the sting still lingers within.
No more crocodile tears to shed,
For no one cares, the cold instead
Will bite and gnaw, his only dread.
His dares have left him hanging by a thread.
They warned him not to take the road
Of selfishness with such a load.
But careless ears turned from advice,
He chased his wants and paid the price.
Now the boomerang swings back,
The song of trouble beats its track.
Remember all the boasts and tags?
Now a weaver stands in rags.
The race is lost, the shame is here,
The path ahead is less than clear.
But maybe, tracing back his stride,
He’ll find the strength he once denied

If I took all the friends I've known
and put them in one group.
I have to share they can't compare
to friends at Poetry soup.
Through life and love and tragedy
I knew right from the start.
In the poems that we love to write
we all share just one heart.
From sunsets over mountains
and sunrise on the sea.
I could write forever
and miss what you mean to me.
As each we bare our heart and soul
and pen so many things.
Each word like one more feather
creating angels wings.
With a heart so filled with gratitude
in spite of all that we've been through.
The best that I have ever known
when I found understanding you.

i can have all the money in the world,
have countless houses,riches and much
more.
but there's much more in life than riches
and money.he is our lord and savior jesus christ
he is the king of kings,he's the air that i breathe
he is my heart and soul,
he loved me when i was in trouble.
he took my sins away,so i can live a happy life.
he created the sky the moon.the creatures
the valleys the earth,
he a king a father and a son of god.
he sacrificed his life,
crucified laid be on a stone,he was crucified
on a storm.
he was lived to die,so we can live to become
free.
he gave us a reason to live,
he took our sins and gave us wisdom and love.
he want's us to be free,we are his precious children,
children..
when I look up and wondered about you.
I pondered about you.I think you took my sins and
you gave me wisdom to become a good poet.
you sacrificed your life, but you didn't have to.
but you did anyways,
thank you for your love,
my dreams and hopes and blessings come from you

The biggest test of my heart and soul,
Has been to trust in you, to let things go,
Some people will allow you to have the last word,
To manipulate your heart, to make you feel unsure,
Rest assured,,,their plans weren't yours,
There was no love there, that's for sure,
And btw, if that's the case, you need to understand,
What disguises itself as love will only confuse their own plans,
With no reactions or sincerity they are running in circles,
Replacing real for fake instead of facing the issues,
When you know your being used, the pain is deep,
Because your intentions don't match, your heart will grieve,
Oh, but how beautiful your intentions were,,,,
Remind yourself this every time you get hurt,
That your honesty and love outweighs it all,
That your efforts were never in vain, keep singing your song,
Keep your heart in position, and know the enemy hates,
When love and truth break through, plans always change,
The timing is on point, destined to see,
The ears were meant to hear, the eyes were meant to see,
And in the hurt of the aftermath, your still in position,
It awakens your heart through opposition,
It puts you in a spot where your faith must rise,
To see with your heart instead of your eyes,
Loss leaves you empty handed,,,but with which eyes do you choose to see?,
Do you need a visual to know to have faith to believe?,
Are we living for the outside or inside more?,
This is the test of faith that knocks on your door,
We are in bodies here, yet we wither and die,
Don't you think the eyes of our heart mean more in this life?,
The tears that fall through heartache and loss,
Is an outward sign our heart isn't lost,
It is the opposite of what you see,
It's the love you know and believe,
Embrace the pain, your eyes are now opened,
Love never left your side, you were never broken,
Rest assured, your heart is whole,
God sent those tears to let you know.......
Ring in the New Years.
Ring out the old.
Keep all those dreams and wishes.
Keep heart and soul.
Never try to break a promise.
Never let me go.
Wear all those fancy dresses.
Call me on the phone.
And if you ever need me.
Just let me know...
Ring in the New Years.
Ring out the old.
Forget all those times of trouble.
So the story's told.
Never try to tell me bad lies.
Never make me cry.
Wear all those fancy outfits.
Call me on the phone.
And if you ever need me.
Just let me know..
Ring in the New Years.
Ring out the old.
Keep all those dreams and wishes.
Keep heart and soul...

In every way but words

I've expressed my feelings
In every way but words
All the love that we cannot share
Is out there in the Universe
We exchange looks of longing
Our hands touch occasionally
How I long to take you in my arms
And hold you tenderly
To kiss your lips with passion
To love your body, heart and soul
All these wishes I hold inside
Hoping one day to make them known
But for now we speak with silence
Communicate in every way but words
Our love will fill the ocean
And we'll share it from a distance
I imagine that we could sail away
Somewhere to an island of our own
Live out our days together
Share our love, our lives, our home

Hebrews 12:29
“For our God is a consuming fire.”
Greater than we can ever dream
Sweeter than the best honey of the hive
More amazing than the most supreme
He’s the love that helps my soul thrive
Better than my lips could voice
He’s the light that shines so bright
His cross offers me a choice
He’s the grace that makes everything right
More beautiful than words can describe
A hope more faithful than even a mother
He’s the wonder only believing can ascribe
I’m so thankful for Him, He’s like no other
Him who created each one is a consuming fire
Because of His love – I, too, am consumed
By that fire who’ll consume and inspire
Hearts to give praise to the One presumed
To silence every fear, wipe away all tears
To fill the heart with love, the soul with belief
So that whatever comes, throughout the years
His peace will still the night, offering such relief
He is a consuming fire and because of love, I aspire
To give Him all my praise, with a heart who is amazed
By the love He blesses us with – love my heart can admire
Because it means I’m filled with Him who God raised…
From the tomb where He lay, waiting as hearts grieved
Remembering that love can win, over any sin
Forgiveness came to the souls who believed
As His fire burned, pouring out love within….
Each heart and soul were filled with His love
When they repented of sin and came to believe
In this Jesus who is that hope sent from above
To fulfill each scripture with a love that won’t deceive
I’m still thanking the One I love, this King of Kings
For His forgiving me for the sinner I was
Writing my name in His book so my spirit sings
Forgiven and loved, praising Him is my life’s cause
Because of Jesus, I’m forever offering my heart
Only God can truly know just how much it cost
To right my life – giving me a whole new start
Because of my Savior, I’m no longer lost
