"WINTER"
the beautiful season
of suspension
where we find
our true selves
hibernating
under sacred blankets
of wisdom won
dreaming of all
the days past, gone
in the never complete
and we dream
in songs
of the other life
approaching
beautiful,
inviolate,
lilting pure,
lighter, pristine,
more truer
than true
than the heavy
coloured cloaks
covering lost victories
in the dedicated Obscure
never wrong
never won

“O light! This is the cry
of all the characters
of ancient drama
brought face to face
with their fate.
This last resort
was ours, too,
and I knew it now.
In the middle of winter
I at last discovered
that there was in me
an invincible summer.”
(Albert Camus, L’été)
“A poet is a blind optimist.
The world is against him
for many reasons.
But the poet persists.
He believes
that he is on the right track,
no matter what
any of his fellow men say.
In his eternal search for truth,
the poet is alone.
He tries to be timeless
in a society built on time.”
(Kerouac)
"For small creatures
such as we,
the vastness
is bearable
only through
love."
(Carl Sagan)
“There are things known
and there are things unknown,
and in between
are the doors of perception.”
(Aldous Huxley)

The talent of this England team
Will overcome the rest
Because the players on display
Are simply the best.
James our keeper will save every shot
He's experienced and so cool
Glen Johnson and Ashley Cole
The defence they both will rule.
John Terry solid as a rock
With King at his side
While Lennon and Joe Cole
Control the play out wide.
The creative skill of Lampard
And captain Gerrard too
Will create a hole in any defence
No matter what they do.
Peter Crouch up front is so tall
He reminds me of a Giraffe
When he scores and does that dance
He really makes me laugh.
Wayne Rooney wow what can I say
The best of the best
He's like a little bulldog
With three lions on his chest.
Our manager Fabio Capello
A master of the game
If we don't bring back the cup
We're only ourselves to blame.
prologue's entry
it’s as ancient as
the salt missing
in the dead sea
it doesn’t hold
that essence
in its tears
it looks over
its dominion
the souls
kissing its feet
entry point
found in the cracks of
over zealous blowing
their self-righteousness
stood on
soap boxes
they know better
let them speak
watch them
war with each other
it swallows opines
it feeds
prologue’s entry
it never leaves
it watches
the eyes of others
windows open
virtuous with bravado
pushed to believe
only when they are on their knees
when the truth monster
struts in
shutters close
not so brave
to defend, to endure
what they speak
it thinks
it waits
Prologue's entry?
it never left,
it never sleeps
Prologue's entry
Entry's prologue
as above,
so below
it watches them
in mirrors
invisible,
yet seen
soon
to be believed
it reads them,
like the other
it knows
them all
soon
to be believed
"what's inside them?
is it made of strength?
unbreakable?"
like a Vampire
it will impress promises
seduce them with
safety in its arms
it felicitates its
kind of freedom
"what's inside them?
is it made of strength?
unbreakable?"
stood on their
soap boxes, towers
the same as rosaries
soon
to be believed

"Freedom Sees - Part 1"
Sailing
her clear
Aqua Green
oceans
floating
mysterious exotic
fragrant
Dark Pink
Yellow Frangipani Petals
surround her boat,
gifts sent
from the big fat bellied trees
in the Queen's Land,
standing fixated,
rooted to the spot
they aren’t going anywhere
fast, that’s their lot on
Departure Shores,
waving their
confetti dreams
at the Bamboo Queen
sailing adventuress
standing tall now
not down on her knees.
She’s surveying her pearl beds
Giant Burnt Orange
Lilac Lavendar
Deep Emerald Green
Astropecten Articulatus
accompanying Royalty,
they are far from their
familial home.
Hippocampus.
Syngnathidae,
Olive, Ultra-Marine Blue.
Mate for life.
Sea Dragons.
This is true.
Golden Glistening
Burning Ball
the Sun’s
beckoning ascension,
light beams,
dapple the surface
there is abundant
life underneath
this, her verdant
Sea Bed Circus.
Crystal clear deep waters
full of mothers and daughters
the nexus electric current
for her virtues
her sins,
her babbling
ranting minions,
their downloading zone
go-with-the-flow.
A million zephyrs
cut the air,
they are calling HER
“HOME”.

"50 Words for Poe: The Wicker Man"
Lost in the fire of his own mind
Lost in the fire of his own heart betrayed
Lost in the fire of his own life arraigned
Lost in the absence of Love, always
No Home
Man on Fire
Afraid
Freedom to be found in the fire of his own sorrow
Freedom to be found in the fire of his own soul
Freedom to be found in the fire of his own today n’ere tomorrow
Freedom to be found in the fire of his own higher-self to remember
Time now to let go
Time is not borrowed
Burn the past to find Home
The Ocean calls him Home calls him Home calls him Home

"Man on Fire"/Gerrard
“It is said by the Eldar that in water there lives yet the echo of the Music of the Ainur more than in any substance that is in this Earth; and many of the Children of Ilúvatar hearken still unsated to the voices of the Sea, and yet know not for what they listen.” Tolkien, The Silmarillion
“Ocean, n. A body of water occupying about two-thirds of a world made for man — who has no gills.” Ambrose Bierce, The Unabridged Devil's Dictionary
"The Black Habit"
Bast never rests
claws sharp as scissors
The Black Habit
no natural skin
torn to shreds
with a cream filled kiss
Legs wrapped around a velvet lick
Perfume purrs in your ears
Like a Black Cat
Bast never rests
Like a Black Cat
Bast skirts your whiskers
Breezes over your lips
The Black Habit lifts

“I want to fall in love in such a way,
that the mere sight of a man,
even a block away from me,
will shake and pierce me,
will weaken me,
and make me tremble and soften and melt.”

Graeme’s hero is Steven Gerrard,
That Liverpool and LA football player,
And has Cerebral Palsy. It was hard,
‘Cos doctors said he’d never blether.
He was prematurely delivered 1979,
But can now lift 3x his body weight.
For his 8th birthday his parents fine,
Bought him a horse, sports to date.
He studied at Beaumont College,
In Lancaster, where he got involved,
In CP sports competitions to wage,
His abilities and strength devolved.
Joining Chorley town Athletic Club,
He became determined to make it,
And in May 2012 Graeme did tub,
Taking silver, to sprint the Worlds fit.
Then in the London Games, Paras,
He won another silver to objectify,
His raw talent in the T36 100 metres,
In which he does his dreams solidify.
