When I Die

When I die
please call the cops
don't lie
then put my body on some hot rocks.
play 2Pac
over my block
to honor me
then spread my ashes across the Black Sea.
My life of sin
will be over
when the train pulls in
life will be on my shoulder.
I'm in the zone
all alone.
When I'm gone
will it turn you on?
will it make you happy?
will it make you sad?
will it make you go crazy?
and will it make you mad?
When I die
don't tell my dad
he's a father that I never had,
just another face in my broken past.
The good memories
never seem to last.
Let life go on
for my son
may he never touch a gun.
I'll fly like a lightning rod
to the house of god.
This life is getting stranger
everywhere I go
I'm always in danger.
Let my soul linger on
let em' drop the bomb
let em' sing this song
learn right from wrong
smoke out of my bong
let the band play on.

When I die
will you cry?
will you try
to lie
about the way I died?
Will you honor my pride?

Illuminati confirmed
I will lay where my homies burned.
Everything I've seen
everything I've learned.
You've turned.
I hope I still grow
after I go.
I hope my rhymes will heard
all my words
by the birds
far away
okay.
I hope I don't go like Marvin Gaye
but, it's better to burn out
than to fade away.

When I die
will you cry?
Will you try
to lie
about the way I died?
Will you honor my pride?

Now, I know
I said and did a lot of things.
That I hurt you.
That's what really stings
because I know how much you tried
to help me through.
Play those strings.
All my love
all the hard times
all these rhymes
and those crimes.
Your my dove
my first true love.
You will always be in my heart
I made the teardrops start.
All my art
walking after dark
my fiction is stark.

When I die
will you cry?
Will you try
to lie
about the way I died?
Will you honor my pride?

Don't reject
my respect
for the dead
or I'll pump your guts full of lead.
You will see a lot of red.
I'm a thug
when I'm holdin' a slug.
If I catch wind
of you harming my friend
it will be your end.
Enough said.

When I die
will you cry?
Will you try
to lie
about the way I died?
Will you honor my pride?

Premium Member DJ HOUSE MUSIC

Alright, let's get this crowd moving! (Adjusts microphone, smiles warmly) Yo, what's up, everybody? Let's get down to the nu sounds/
We're talking about a feeling, a vibe, a pulse/ You know, sometimes you hear a track and it's just... Wack, like wow, like spin luscious/
We're here for the deep melody/ the kind that just pops your mind apart/ Think sophisticated, a one martini jazz lounge bar… but chilled ya dig/
We're going on an extended house play, delving deep into the spin/ We're talking the echoes of dub music blending samples from James Brown, Donna Summer, Marvin Gaye, Lyn Collins, and Public Enemy/ seamlessly with the precision of minimal techno, bass loops, and synth loops/
intertwining, creating a tapestry of acid house, tech-house, classic techno, and jungle/ with every spin the DJ is a creative force a real artist, mixing tracks/ keepin’ the dance floor popin’ hot with bodies mixin’ till they drop/
Led lights, Laser, Strobe lights, all the vibrant colors for house club music weaving stories with sound and music/
And when a track hits you just right, you wanna rewind that track/ that wobble, that synth sound that gets you moving/
And the riddim… that beat that just won't quit/ Tonight's about ladies' night out, good vibes, and killer sounds/ picture bass loops and hot pants with synth loops intertwining, creating a tapestry of acid house, tech-house, classic techno, jungle/
We're keeping it tight, 125 to 127 BPM, paying homage to the classic house anthems that jackin' beats bounce off the walls all night/ It's about bumpin', kissin', feelin', fireworks, and having' fun/
that seductive, sexy body heat on the dance floor/ Yeah, we appreciate the roots hip-hop, RnB, soul, or funk/that chunky MPC-60 processed classic house drums drive the soul. We're talking DJ legends/ Think Peggy Gou, Steve Aoki, Alan Walker, Frankie Knuckles, Swedish House Mafia, Daft Punk, DJ SNEAK, and Masters at Work/
These are the spinnin’ DJs Masters at Work, the architects of the groove! let's lose ourselves in the sound, the times, the night into day/ forget the worries, and just move because tonight, we're celebrating the power of music!

The Big Show

Sitting here in the dark thinking

Thinking,

Listening to Johnnie Taylor

Taking me back down that old

Memory lane..

Singing “I believe in you”

While the rain beats against my

Window pane..

All the fun memories of my

School days ring out loud &

Clear..

While skating to Disco Lady

Eating cotton candy and never

Gain a pound..

Dancing close holding hands

Moving across the floor..

Shake oh shake, shake all a

Round..

Now here comes soul heaven

He was having such a good

Time..

Seeing all his buddies in this

One night only shindig..

Line up to play their songs

Johnnie Taylor said we need to

Buy our tickets..

The tickets are running out mighty

Fast...

Hey, I love all those guys whom

To many to call their names

But, I'm not ready to buy that

Ticket just yet!

I know this concert will be jumping

Standing around with Sam Cooke

Singing "A Change Gonna Come"

Even Marvin Gaye singing "Let's

Get It On"

So many I can’t mention..

Just think about "Lonely Teardops"

Jackie Wilson dance to his own beat..

Johnnie say it raining,

But everybody just stood there..

While King Curtis Blue "Played His

Soul Serenade"

Elvis Presley

Singing "His Blue Suede Shoes"

The Mighty Temptations singing

"Ain't To Proud To Beg"

He said the Bar-kays tuning their guitars

While Z.Z Hill Singing "Down Home

Blues"

Oh so many I cannot mention..

Johnnie didn’t want to wake up

Cause he was having such a good

Time..

Amidst all those great super stars..

Oh, yes he was having such a good

Time...

Singing "Soul Heaven"

He buy his ticket to this big one

Night Show..

So he said he was having such a

Good time..

With all his super star buddies "Singing

In soul Heaven"

I know that concert was jumping with

With all those super stars singing

In that one night only concert in soul

Heaven....

You see Johnnie Taylor said he was havin

Such a good time...

And he decided to join his friends in the land

They call soul Heaven..

For this one night big show...

Premium Member Papa Was~~~~~

I hold three magic stones in my hand, rolling them over-and-over-and over, leaving
this
reality behind - far behind, as I fly back-ward through time.

Suddenly! We are together; I have dreamed of this moment for so long; I am filled
with so
much happiness; it falls from my eyes in tears you kiss from my cheeks as we
embrace.

I am a child again! It is Christmas Eve! Carols, and scents of cinnamon, and pine, fill
the
air, as we decorate the tree; you place an angel on the top, and say she looks just
like me.
Snowflakes dance outside the frosted window-panes. White tapers melt into dreams
and
drip onto the mantle as they flicker and glow in the magic of this night. The Yule-tide
logs
lying in the hearth, slowly turn to embers - like the three glowing stones, I hold In
my hand,
that I roll, over-and-over-and-over again~~~~~

Now! I count sixteen candles on my birthday cake, as you waltz me around the
room.
Tonight - I am a princess. I roll the stones again~~~~~ Your handsome face beams
with
pride as I stand before you, in cap and gown - scroll in hand, on this - my
graduation
day. I roll the stones again~~~~~

Now! You (tall and handsome) in black tuxedo, me, in jewelled gown of satin white,
walk
(arm-in-arm), down the isle, on this - my wedding day. I roll the stones again~~~~~
Tears of joy - swim in your ebony eyes as you reach out to hold a new-born babe
(my
son), who looks just like you. How can this be? How is this possible? You were never
there.
I roll the stones again~~~~~

Then I see them - Three little WORDS engraved in the three stones - my legacy -
that
brings you back to me after all these years. Three stones - I roll over and over and
over
again, until they fall into place and say, “I LOVE YOU.” And, in that moment, all
those lonely
childhood years, SIMPLY DISSAPPEAR~~~~~~~~~~

Premium Member When Blackness Turns Into Light

When blackness turns into light

Society could not deny
what we saw
with our own two eyes.

We saw blackness
turn into light
soulful stars
illuminating
white nights.

Jackie was a pioneer
his love lifted us
higher and higher
his black voice
shining bright in
the white night
his acceptance there
was no denying.

James Brown led the way
when there still
was segregation
blacks and whites
in Baptist churches
but in separate
congregations

His voice was strong
his blackness shone
his body contorted
in rhythmic gyrations
his voice was heard
when people listened
and saw as useful
this racial integration.

His strength and stamina
on the stage
and his voice made you
want to get up and dance
those who saw him
knew that maybe
racial unity had a chance.

Then came Marvin
yes that Marvin Gaye
he blazed a new trail
a new way of thinking
never encountered before,
music with a social conscience
that stirred a whole nation
to even question the war.

Then there was Sly and his
band mates the Family Stone
they were unique and special
mixing races together musically
but they were all alone

Then came Stevie
yes he was a wonder
his talent as a musician
there was simply no doubt,
his music resounded
a message of peace and
harmony was what it
was about.

Then came Michael
and Prince at the
very same time
two forces of black nature
twisting and turning their
blackness into light.
Music of healing the world
and the crying of doves
transfixed hateful gazes
into havens of love.

And don't forget
Luther Vandross and
Teddy Pendergrass too,
their songs of love
helped conceive a
million children or two.

If you never lived
at a time like I did,
growing up with
Soul music's beginnings
it would be like being a
football player who
never experienced
winning.

Now they're mostly all gone
but their music still lives on
we were witnesses
to the legends
in the making.
Now the message carries on
hope is never really gone
it's still there
for the taking.

Here Is Happiness For Me

With her pet toy in hand and playing,
In mother’s lap, a strange smile lurking,
To her lullaby whilst listening,
Eyes on Ma, at last succumbs to sleep,
Here’s happiness for me sound asleep.

Their heavy school bags left way aside,
Uniforms too thrown on whatso side,
Back from bunking class, leave un-applied,
Bare bodied when children dance in rain,
Here’s happiness for me sans restrain.

Dreams and young desires dancing in mind,
Two teenagers in tender love blind,
At the appointed place do when find
And haply together smile their smiles,
Here’s happiness to me that beguiles.

Dawns a day, and Ma wakes up early,
Finds the house bare and rather lonely,
And lo, the door-bell rings suddenly,
Her daughter and kids hug her in glee,
Here is crest of happiness to me.

One eve, the sun prepares when to pack,
I see grandpa— nigh bent at the back,
Nostalgic, playing old songs from rack
When breaks into dance that transcends age,
That’s happiness to me freed from cage.

Imagination

Imagination
( you are never too young or too old to put your imagination to use)

                 Imagine the concert

The concert did not cost a dime
But every soul was there- from the beginning of time .
It was the biggest concert the heavens had ever seen.
The greatest dancers and singers that were ever known.
On the largest television screen it was shown.

You had the crooners, the swooners,
the rockers, the boppers, and the opera singers
All gathered together for one big show.
In heaven- this is the way to go.

It started off with the “tappers” coming on to the stage
All well known in the archives of fame.
First Bill “Bo jangles” Robinson with Fred Astaire in back .
Then Jean Kelly. Ginger Rodgers,
and Gregory Hines picking up the slack.

Then came the female singers who were all
In the hall of fame, and all well known by their names.
Billie holiday , Lena Horne , Doris Day and Peggy Lee
Judy Garland and Dinah Shore-and lets not forget
The Andrew Sisters- who gave us so much more.

Then out came the male singers who touched the
Hearts of women all around the world
And made all their hair stand up and curl.
Mario Lanza , Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin
Just to name a few, then let us not forget the soul singers
Otis Redding ,Sam Cooke, and Nat “king” Cole
Then Marvin Gaye who really put on a show.

OH ! This concert was a wonder to behold !
And the greatest one was yet to unfold.
Everyone waited in anticipation
As the angels blew their trumpets
And the harps let out the most beautiful melody.
For behind that big curtain
Walked out our all Mighty King.

All knees bent ,and all heads bowed
You couldn’t hear a pin drop
Not a single solitary sound.

He gave the heavens his blessings
As every face lit with delight
And all the way to earth
You could see this glaring light.

This is the concert- that one day we may all see
If we follow his words, and help to save all humanity.
