Bluebell Dells

Idyllic illicit illusion…

Complicit daydream delusion…

Explicit panoply profusion…

Other worldly garlanded gems..

Purring poetic…balletic..stirring kinetic aesthetic..

Absurdly drop atop delicious stems..

Heavenly blue hue...serenity’s serendipitous shade..

Or purple patch so plush…fairies blamelessly blush..

Bucolic blossom hush... mother nature's made..

Garnishing..varnishing.. intricate forest floor laid..

Magical mist…delicate..sumptuously sprayed...

Trysts persist…unctuously dappled glade..

How can you resist..not be swayed?

Flagrantly decadently displayed.

Fragrantly delectably conveyed...

Casts seasonal smorgasbord spells..

Marvel at the mythical majesty..

Spring’s cocooned woven tapestry..

Festooned filigree of bluebell dells

WE WILL WALK OUR RAINS

Welcome the falling rain with a rainbow smile
dripping onto our face rippling even the sea.
Flowers and bushes mottled wet along the aisle
together in the pouring rain, running with glee!

Without a care in the world the brackens spree
and beneath the trees nesting birds hide in style,
beholding this vista, we both are in agree:
Welcome the falling rain with a rainbow smile!

Soak and cold, hugging for warmth is worthwhile
and so is hearing the rains' staccato percussion keys
in a moment of stillness... Some cascading vile
dripping onto our face rippling even the sea,

some bring frowns, worse-- tears to our eyes
but having a beloved through every miles
may lighten dark skies. Hopefully, those guise
flowers and bushes mottled wet along the aisle

dry as the sun rises, wiping natures cries.
Under the sun, under the rain: dance and be free!
Breathe! Drink their essence... Release some sighs
together in the pouring rain, running with glee!

The rain and the sun: like a couple sustaining life~
garnishing both the earth with gregarious greens.
May we be like them: partners holding no strife...
The yins and yangs now smoothly hurdled in between
welcome the falling rain...

Premium Member Autumn in New England

Autumn
paints New England,
staining hillsides, wrapped
in red,

garnishing the trail
beneath my steps.

The season spills
like cabernet across
a changing landscape;
where the maples
bleed
their aging, amber
leaves.

I stroll
amidst the falling flames,
below the blazing
treetops,
the crisp air thick
with life, that's soon
to rest.

I walk
through spreading fire,
listen to leaves, their stories
rustling underfoot–
As Autumn’s vivid,
vibrant gift prepares
to vanish
from the view.

And I
have never known
another place, to burn
so bright in red defiance,
and I stand, here
in the art of it– I breathe
inside this portrait
of an Autumn
in New England.

Humbled, though
it hurts
to hold what lingers
and what leaves
in just one breath–

A quiet, crimson sorrow
cloaked
in boldest, brightest
hues–
where the branches bare
their warmth in
celebration–

where the greens
refuse
to simply fade to gray.

One last breath
of leaf and smoke,
one final stroll
beneath the burning trees,
another look before
the fire dies
in winter's restless
wind.

And when
the reds lie blanketed
in white
upon the hillsides of
New England,

I'll think of Autumn’s color, and
let go;

Knowing that I had it–
if only
for a season.

How far do the ripples spread, when eventually we die
Probably stay in the locality, level off, no major outcry
But let’s say we’re famous, suffering unexplained death
The ripples keep expanding, growing further in breadth

See the grotesque nature of spin, is to overplay a scene
Garnishing public outrage, lurid pictures fill our screens
Playing to an audience, ratings become the holy grail
Stories without embellishments, grow tiresomely stale

These ripples are an illusion, imagination going berserk
Carried along by a corrupt deception, truth been shirked
Evidence the one requirement, for establishing all facts
I extrapolate backwards, what the hell there’s no splash

Lines converge into partial truths, confused to a degree
Must be taken with a pinch of salt, querying what I see
Even this soup we enjoy, is manipulated and massaged
Most of the poems are quite good, others form a mirage

Taken out of context a rectangle, can become a square
Brought into focus, desolate pictures, not quite so bare
What’s basically a clean stab, or slash across the wrist
When poets stick in the knife, some give it a good twist

Using poetry for a hidden agenda, political or otherwise
Tantamount to mind-numbing crap, seen in the tabloids
If your going to post propaganda, to further some game
Write it on toilet paper, wipe off, that’s all you’ve gained

Premium Member He Can Entertain Himself For Hours

He can entertain himself for hours
We saw what she meant when we spied on him
He was four, the ideal age for garnishing make believe
He doesn’t need toys? We asked his mother

He creates worlds out of his imagination, she replied.
Give him sticks, moss, leaves, a feather or two.
It is amazing what he will do with them.
He came in for lunch but barely had time to talk.

I am building a zoo and a circus out there, he told us.
The ringmaster is annoyed that I came in for lunch.
What kinds of animals do you have in your zoo?
Llamas, penguins, polar bears and dragons, he said.

I remembered for a minute that I used to be able to do this.
Create my own world with bits of fluff I found on the ground.
I wanted to run out there and play with him, so asked.
Sure, he said, but you have to watch out for the ring master.
He has a mean temper. I figured I could handle him.

Multiplication of a Powerful Zero

Dampen talk in a hesitant time
Uncertainties of a procrastinating hour
Where life goes on … and on...and on
With some obvious happenings of the inevitable
Blemish talk only highlights the stigma of a stagnation
Where neither you nor I are able to be someone
Other than only living in a life of necessity
Those pernicious happenings go on with
the description of a disaster. With a lot of
Repetition of a traverse, repentant mind
Where we are blocked with
A roadblock and a sentry,
Always alternating,
Always calculating
The ingredients of laughter
Ambivalence is a residual reality
of the heavily guarded possibility
Still, there is love, there is a poem,
And there is a visage of heavenly affection
With an astral temptation of life,
Garnishing more and more along with;
Perhaps an enterprise of goodliness. With the
Threatening math multiplying the powerful zero.

Seasons

Now garnishing her stage with high décor
Does Nature take delight in seasons four;
Embellished by her handiwork, they stand
As symbols recognized throughout the land

Before her curtain rests a Summer spell,
Although behind the cool of Autumn dwells,
Awaiting only for the warmth to ease,
And paint the pallid faces of the leaves

Still watching from afar does Winter speak
Of coming frost and heavy blizzards bleak,
While Spring lies sleeping soundly in the earth
Until its beauty once again gives birth

In time all crafted seasons have their say;
The new emerges and the old gives way,
As Nature works relentlessly to hold
The glitter of her treasure’s fading gold.

The Fab Four is no more

The fab four...not Scouse superstar serenaders..

Stellar constellations of cricketing fascinations...

Connoisseur christened, humdinger harbingers..

Listen…whispers of willow wizardry whistle…glisten..

Skipper sorcery glow…celestial cerebral Martin Crowe..

Appetites whet..forget the quartet..for the fab four is no more..

Game's pantomime dame, Kohli...encores harangued..

Creeping crepuscular flaws…Virat’s ersatz career nadir scores..

Smith's sisyphean shuffles..flummoxed fossicking for form..

In mists of time..muffled murmurs of his prime...

Two remain....caressed nurdle nirvanas...nudges finessed...Kane..

Benjamin Button…old school whiffs…lyrical lever lullabies..

Rooted rhapsody riffs..gourmand & glutton..

Wallowing in echoes..aesthetic embers of the past...

Trained elbow craned....poetic flighty feet…

Silkily souffle sashays scream balletic....

Swishes so late, almost tardy...halcyon garlanded greats..

Third man tickles...soft hands court..behind cover cavort..

Wooing nooks...seducing crannies..scoreboard cooing..

Relished textbook looks..cherished record books..embellished..

Joe shuns Icarus...strums eclipsing Sachin's sun..

Kane’s hushed kudos..won’t boast..hums humility…..

Genius garnishing..legends..legacies..

So time “gentlemen” please..

Lachrymose Last Post toast.

Final round for Kane..Joe & Martin Crowe..

Late great host…ruminating perched proud..

Hankering..hollering with the crowd..

Illuminating a long white cloud..

Premium Member Pasta: a Fork of Heaven

PASTA: A FORK OF HEAVEN

In a pot of bubbling boiling water,
I drop hard nine inches long bundle of farfelles..

Minutes passed,between my fingertips,
I pressed one strand, al- dente!

In a platter glittering white,
I form a fist of fresh-cooked pasta noodles,

pouring a hot scoop of white
creamy silky sauce made from:

parmesan and pecorino
melted, blended in a saucepan,

flavored more with a savory stock,
tossed of shallots, saffron and lean meat.

The sauce must be rich enough
coating all the threads of farfelles...

Garnishing it with grated cheese,
teaspoonful crunchy diced bacon,

a pinch of chopped flat leaf parsley...
Voila! Who could refuse this tasty fork of heaven?
