As Erica fought for her liberty
She be truly began to see
What life would be like for her
But her troubles only got rougher
As she grew and claimed more
She often left others broken and sore
She destroyed them as she forged her path
Not stopping to think of her wrath
Devastation of local friendlies
Caused her to gain more enemies
She let nothing stand in her way
Dominating over her weaker prey
She turned a blind eye to her troubles
And it really left her in cultural rubbles
She fought for causes with such passion
But often refused to share the ration
Why didn’t she listen to the voices
And provide them with enough choices?
Why didn’t she think about equality
As she watched casualty after casualty?
Why didn’t she treat people right
While they continued to fight?
She sits atop with power so immense
But it seems she lacks common sense
If she would have just stopped to see
That her people weren’t living equally
She could have made the needed change
And maybe prevented the heated exchange
If she only could’ve seen what she was doing
She could have noticed what was brewing
Now maybe is the time for her reckoning
The moment to adapt is beckoning
It’s not too late to listen still
To collaborate and provide some goodwill
Erica has a chance to re-imagine a new way
Where peace guides her toward a new day

Is there any better sleep than an afternoon nap?
I think not, my Soup friendlies
Hands down, it's like I imagine what heaven is like
Not that I'm in any big hurry to make the trip
I really don't advise doing this if you haven't retired yet
Your boss could get a cranky old sod
Especially if you have your afternoon nap
In the middle of a very important client meeting
Perhaps then you might know what it's like to be retired
When I was much younger I envisioned retirement
As being “put out to pasture”
It ain't happened yet, I'm still full of “viss and pinegar”
As a hobby, I started searching some recipes online
And have made some tantalizing dishes
Which turned out pretty good for a rookie chef
Much to Cathie's delight I might add!
So my afternoon naps have been a lot less frequent recently
Along with writing poetry and cooking up a storm
I'm having to allot some special nap time
What a twist that's turned out to be!

Went to the well and the well was dry
So what shall I do, oh me, oh my
My mind's in a quandary, what shall I do
I fear I've run dry, I haven't a clue
Is there some medication that I can take
My mind's in a dither for goodness sake
This surely can't be, I must go lie down
Will try a wee nap, my mind might rebound
Does this ever happen to you guys out there
Is this an affliction uncommon or rare
Will try it again gonna give it a shot
Gonna go for broke, give it all that I've got
So this should be easy, what rhymes with boy
It's uh... hang on... my heart's filled with joy
Hey, I think I'm finally back on the track
I'm saved, I'm saved, the old Jack is back
This smile on my kisser is here to stay
Unless once again my rhymes they do stray
It's a life or death issue so wish me good luck
Sorry about this, for being such a schmuck
I promise you friendlies from this day on
It's all copacetic and everything's calm

Hello there my little friendlies
I'm Archibald Denton Frog
I'm here to tell you the story
Of Catherine Clemetine Clogg!
Clemmie as she's always been known
To a bunch of her closest friends
Has a wonderful talent for juggling
While sitting on her bottom end!
That may not sound so astonishing
But imagine the things she juggles
Kangaroos and a big mouth bass
And soap that causes big bubbles!
But awkward things like soccer balls
Or a pair of Grandpa's false teeth
A ten pound bag of Kibbles 'n Bits
Can certainly cause Clemmie some grief!
Let's give this lady a big hurrah
As she entertains all the wee kiddles
Keeps on juggling for many long hours
Till she finally needs to go piddle!
Oh my goodness did I say piddle?
What a naughty word I just uttered
That bar of soap is now in my mouth
Making me choke and sputter!
Archibald Denton Frog signing off
With a moral right at the end
Enjoy the talents of dear Clementine
But never use bad words that offend!

Some days are diamond, some are stone
We all need a mix of diamonds and stones
Otherwise we would miss the comparison
If life was all diamonds, we wouldn't be able to
Handle those stone days
And all stone days, we would be on a suicide watch
The perfect mix produces balance
It produces happiness knowing
As bad as it gets, there's always a better day ahead
I hear some of you saying, “Not in my life!”
Yes... in everyone's life or we wouldn't survive
Really think about your life
Unless your are in the .001% of the world's population
There have been times of exultation
And times when you didn't think it could get any worse
Take heart my friendlies
If you're feeling down right now
Imagine how great it will feel when you reach the other end
As we walk the tightrope of life!

Gonna let you all in on a little secret
My real name isn't Jack at all
Charles is the name I was christened with
A late change caused a huge falderal
My seven older sisters ended up in a furor
A last minute change by my dad
Didn't go over well with the seven of them
So this joyful event became sad
His reason for making this last minute change
Was to honour his brother Charley
Who died a big hero in the first World War
Sisters thought the change was too tardy
So they decided to call me Jack anyway
In spite of dad's last minute switch
His reason for making this admirable change
Wasn't reason to change their wish
So keep on calling me Jack my good friendlies
It's stuck with me for 79 years
If you call me Charles, I can certainly guarantee
Won't answer unless I've had too many beers!
True story!

Blankety blank blank blank
Blankety blank blank blank
So how do like my quatrain so far
Getting pretty low in the tank
To resort to this ridiculous bit of nonsense
Must be pretty damn desperate I'd say
You can fool some people some of the time
But never you friendlies each day
When juices stop flowing you'll know right away
One can spot it right off the bat
Obviously when I start that blankety blank stuff
Instead of love and all of that
Maybe I should take some word rhyming pills
But they're so damn expensive these days
Two thousand dollars for just twenty-five pills
Need a job as a gigolo to pay
Well I'm gonna end this blankety blank poem
Threw in a bit of smut ha ha
Got by the censors with that blankety blank stuff
They're freaking out, sure good for a laugh
