How many tears must hope shed?
Is there no bread left for the hungry,
or cures bred for the sick?
Can hard work feed itself no more,
neither trust share its roots with truth,
with no water left to nurture either one?
Does love have none left for itself,
nor mercy favor fruits of friendship
as it once did?
Do rainbows reign no more after rain
nor doves fly following rainfall
with fresh saplings in their bills?
Has faith lost its will to live?
Will will lose itself to fear?
Would that God would strike it down
with one brush of His hand.
But this Would must submit to God.
World's hope may have fallen to embers,
but God's hope breathes flames of white,
for white knows the rainbow,
which signals water is growing the crops
that feed each fellow man.
Hope's origin is not with man,
but with God.
If hope is lost,
it is because this we have forgotten,
that hope lies in God's only Begotten Son
As I looked in your eyes,
I saw a tiny flicker
As a small piece of your love for me
Died deep within you
A flicker so small
You barely gave it notice,
But it blazed like the sun
As it seared my heart
I felt my soul shiver
As if your precious gift
Was pulled from body
A sickening wave of despair
Passes through me
As I realize your love for me
Will no longer be whole
My heart is left broken
And bleeding with regret,
Unable to mend the wound
That has been inflicted.
Will time heal the damage?
Or will I have to suffer
A slow painful death
As the fire within you
Slowly dies out,
As your once loving arms
Releases it embrace on my soul.
Shall I continue to fan the flames
That I see still burning inside you,
Or does the fuel for my love
No longer have the capacity to sustain it?
I think I shall just close my eyes
And let fate run its course.

Standing in the fire

We've grown apart and
You're always away;
The kids feel the sparks,
And they're no longer okay...
So, I say we've got to talk,
But you say you've got
Nothing left to say;
I just don't know anymore,
What more I can take,
So...
I'm standing in the fire,
Can you see me burn?
I'm not trying to survive,
Just want to pause the hurt...
Oh baby, I have tried,
To see things all your way,
But maybe now I'm tired,
I've got words to say...
So, I'm standing in the fire,
Oh, yeah, I'm standing in the fire;
The flames feels fine,
I'm gonna be just fine,
Standing in the fire...
You walked out,
And left me to burn,
Burn, burn,
For you, yes for you;
And you never thought
I'd survive,
Never thought I'd get
Through...
But here I am,
Me and the kids,
We're doing fine;
They saw my phoenix
Rise in the afterburn...
The ashes they flew,
Flew far away to you,
And I know that
I'll get through
Anything new...
Because...
I was standing in the fire,
And you watched me
Burn;
Never thought that I'd survive,
But I embraced the flames...
It took away the hurt,
The hurt you gave
Always,
Oh, baby, how I tried,
To see things all your way...
But, baby, I got tired,
And my words have
Faded away;
I'm all action now,
I have tamed these flames...
The flames feel free,
I'm doing fine now,
Standing in the fire
Where my phoenix won...
Yeah, I've overcome it all,
I am a phoenix now,
No longer feel the burn,
The flames are my best friend...
Yeah, I'm standing in the fire,
Whenever I want to burn,
Any darkness here,
You're no longer my concern...
Yeah, I'm standing in the fire,
'Cos I'm a phoenix now,
And I burn, yes I burn,
With my own desire...
I burn...
I burn...
Yes, I burn...
I've tamed the fire...

Too easy to get burned,
in a world where peace I have not earned.
For no matter how much I yearn,
the one within me will never kiss the sun.
Please, call upon the skies, the men below,
call upon my lovers, my friends, my foes.
Seek their arms, for I can’t stand on my own.
Let them carry me, so I can rest my soul.
Let them be burdened, for I a martyr for all.
I who soared.
I, the one who speaks of love,
stoned by eyes that stayed so low,
I fall.
I fall, engulfed in flames.
Its gentle touch embraced in shame,
forever whispering my name,
the name that fades away.
For I’ve had to speak three words,
words that scorch my chest and tongue.
Words I spoke, but me that stung.
The timeless cry, that I had sung.
Farewell, my love.
nestled in the lee of a thick flint wall
guys taut, grappling to hold firm
our canvas castle shook and shuddered
flimsy but somehow reassuring respite
as mountain giants prowled through the night
inside, hunched low over his stove
blue flames licking around the pan
Pops whistled a calming retort;
his gourmet dish to warm us up
bangers ‘n beans in a tin camp cup
we ate and we watched through the half closed flap
as lightning struck nearby -
so, while thunder grumbled at the drumming rain
(still in coats, with hats on heads)
we stretched out on our blow-up beds
father and son fishing had been the plan
on the shores of the lake that weekend
but different memories, caught by different lines
were shaped and set in that storm
as Pops read me ‘The Hobbit,’ all cosy snug and warm
When evening red surrounds our dream
A varnished crown glosses the breeze;
To summon love's ascent, upstream
On river's bend as moist lips tease.
A varnished crown glosses the breeze
Here, stars wiggle in blazed delight;
On river's bend as moist lips tease
When embers of dusk flames the night.
Here, stars wiggle in blazed delight,
Through middle- age, we find pleasure
When embers of dusk flame the night--
As tide cradles this love, it's lure.
Through middle- age, we find pleasure
From gentle floats of a damp kiss
As tide cradles this love, it's lure--
While years ripple in fiery bliss.

Mud can be classical
with just the right temperature
of earth seasoned with heaven.
Birds are classical always
they just don’t know how not to be.
A dog however is part human
it strayed into our camps
thousands of years ago
and became classically unnatural.
However dogs rock love.
The Universe is classical
but we have yet to figure out
what symphony it is playing;
we are looking at something that has not
been composed yet.
Same with humans
they all have a classical beauty
but the Artist has taken a break,
The Painter did this
so we could express perfection
in all kinds of imperfect ways.
Cats are classical;
no one with an ounce of awareness
could deny that. If you do
Your litter-box will burst
into hellfire flames.
SUPERNOVA
Stars can't shine without darkness
God has a purpose for your pain,
A reason for your struggles,
A reward for your faithfulness.
Save the rope and leave the dope,
Take a life, run the mile,
Execute the thought
Let the Hades' voice wane
Don't pull the plug now
See the end until life is over,
Still be the supernova.
When it shines so bright
It's at the expense of explosion
Many lives depends on this life,
Generations wait endlessly to drink
From the steep ocean called YOU
To suck from your milk and honey soul
Not to sing the graven song and so
Give hope for tomorrow
Better days will surely follow.
They laugh at you because you're different?
Laugh at them because they're the same
Never bow to those ephemeral gods,
They will fade into shades,
Ignore the names, rise above the blames
Stir your flames, set ablaze the shame
Don't turn swords into ploughshares
Glory is concealed underneath
The veil of mist over the hills,
Way to glory is through the furnace
It's never a Cinderella on ice
But knocked hard by the rod
Not to be knocked-out
But beaten and banged to shape
The iron does not know
Until it becomes the envy,
The cynosure of all eyes,
To honour and to cherish;
A Samurai sword of valour
Shinning with blaze of glory and power,
That is who you are!

The scent of wet paper flops in my grasping hands.
Careful fingers tear mail open slowly to guard its contents.
A handwritten note from a woman I don't know
flows with sweet meanderings, too delicate to repeat.
Who is she that would lure a faithful wife's husband?
I trusted him with the strength of gold.
Torched like its making,
jealous flames leap my eyes to the return address.
I plan to confront this mistress for their heartless affair.
Quicker than anger surges, my eyes scroll to the middle,
squinting at the rain smudged ink....
Addressed to the neighbors, I shame my hasty accusations.

Speak of fond sights that come to be,
Ignite the flames that bring warm glow;
Glimpse a sure light that soul now sees,
Hurl just the same rhymes that frame show;
Tell of the way beyond the dream.
See beyond sight the tree of life,
Plant poise of play in mystic streams;
Live what feels right in midst of strife,
Enter with cheer where soul abides;
Note how your heart clings on to soul,
Deed happy here and purge all pride;
Oblige firm start to seize the whole,
Urge faith to grow where hope finds thrill,
Reap what love sows in journey feel.
