Prey In a Cage

I behold the rose in bloom, and I cry,
I weep and I wail, then I sigh.
As the night draws in, my painful thoughts begin to wake,
I retreat into my mind and with fear I do shake.

Your clammy hand on my neck, your touch just like lead,
I close my eyes so you will go, you bury further in my bed.
I know I’m worthless, but please do not hurt,
And I try not to scream as you begin to insert.

The deed almost done, your sneer of disgust,
Your toes curl as we prepare for the final thrust.
You roar with delight, I exhale with relief,
My virginity now taken by a wretched old thief.

The memory still haunts, and the damage goes on,
I unravel the silk cloth that my knife lays upon.
Slowly but surely destruction is on its way,
I fear for my soul, but my body must pay.

Anticipation takes hold, and the blade does its work,
I press firmly down, blood appears with a jerk.
Is this the pleasure I've longed to have?
And a voice deep within screams "YES! ONE MORE JAB".

I am so frail, my young flesh so weak,
I can not go on, for my virginity he did seek.
The cold steel blade tattoos my white maiden flesh,
And the untouched skin becomes like wheat for the thresh.

I must abate, I must restrain,
This is the only way I mask the pain.
My eyes glaze over, my body feels weightless,
Each stroke is a prayer, and every cut a caress.

The guests have arrived, my relief has been fleeting,
He stands there staring, my heart is beating.
He looks at me inquisitively, mouth gaping,
And my mother knows not that her brother likes raping.

His gaze upon me, I'm his gift to unwrap,
He would rip me open and toss me like scrap.
I wish he would vanish and leave me in peace,
But his lust won’t be sated, and on me he would feast.

My legs are so withered, and my wheelchair’s a cage,
I wish that man in the Skoda didn’t have road rage.
I guess I should be grateful I can’t feel a thing,
But my mind is alive and every inch of him stings.

He gives me a present and pretends to be nice,
But don’t be fooled, it comes at a price.
He wheels me outside for a fresh of breath air,
When no one is watching he sniffs at my hair.

I wish I could lash out with my thin spastic legs,
But they are as useful as ice-cube clothes pegs.
I hope my diary doesn’t land in the wrong hands,
And if you’re reading this now then I’ve suck-cummed to his plans.

Puzzle Stomped

"Puzzle Stomped"

Pieces scattered
placed on a table
with boundaries

between
the incarcerated margins
there are strict conditions

Time drips
its wet connection
each piece a stair fitted

imperfectly
perfect
towards upwards

new mirror reflection
a cracked heart piercing
the tear with savage dedication

behind her veil
the known Morpheus assails
her compromised senses

holding her captured
behind the external view
eyes blindfolded

the blue sashes now let loose
opening green windows to
free the redressed vicissitudes

to undress the crisp breeze of her
monk chanting wake
a new phantom arrives caressing secrets

gambled on a fresh Delius
composing his unfinished symphony
he’s looking for her singular notes

Somewhere,
he stands behind her
sharp as a needle,

cutting tall poppy
each step she takes
towards her freedom gate

In his hands he cups
the hidden
missing piece

The sewing of pages
she continues to bind
in her sleep

along a strong spine
turning and folding stories
uncommon ne'er sublime

their spelt magic
grows majestically spoilt
seeded from a sweet perfume

conducting intoxicating notes
stories flying black-winged
off all the slippery knaves

and wax-sealed pages
like ebony feathers
mummerating starlings

turn into suffocating
dream stealing
king crows smiling maces

She the Smythsewer
laying tenuous imprints
for a new road home

He the myth Beyond
shakes the game board
peace in pieces, a long forgotten song

the chance card thrown
the blanket of romance
thundering over a stormy mind grows

patch worked with glassed-in
jarred ghost bees, the old
puzzle of a story stomped on

He places his feet
firmly between hers
closing in on time

Beyond takes her hand
And sensually whispers
along all her fairest fears

sweeping all pieces off her
tattered story board
fallen irretrievable

forgotten
left lacking
on the harsh floor

Cum dederit
dilectis suis somnum,
Ecce haereditas

to the tune of fate
there is so much more
the words are sewn and sung

the child in time fled
long gone, as if all was pure fantasy
destiny arrives supernaturally too soon

Time for a new story
He says darkly
and swiftly closes

Past’s door.

Dressed From the Inside Out

it's Fashion Week in New York City and the people just can't wait
to see the lastest trends that the designers will demonstrate
to all the fashionistas with their obssession to impress
tis the season to be a woman of style in the way that you dress
for true fashion is about representing one's identity by the clothing one wears
but fashion is fickle and it's a crazy and unpredictable world out there
one day you may be in and the next day you may be out
but if your wearing the garments of God your fashion style is never in doubt

celebrity endorsements, designer labels and someone's logo on your butt cheeks
there's nothing wrong with the external facade but it's the internal you need to seek
you've been baptized and now you are a new creation in Christ
wearing Divine Designer garments to go with your new life
you have been stripped of the old way of dressing
now wearing the virtues of God in a way most impressing
high fashion from that Universal Designer known as Our Lord God
wearing His Divine creations to go with your brand new heart

Patience is now the pantyhose where your divine foundation starts
Compassion is now that delicate silk blouse worn over your heart
Kindness displayed like a heavenly pair of shoes upon your feet
Humility is now that stylish hat that makes your outfit complete
Forgiveness worn like a precious and expensive pair of gloves
and last but not least that glorious overcoat that God calls love
dressed in Divine Designer garments from the inside out
dressed for success with a stylish spiritual clout

you don't need a Louis Vitton sash around your waist
if you have the Belt of Truth cinched firmly in place
you won't need a Ralph Lauren chemise to cover your back
as the Breastplate of Righteousness will protect from any and all attacks
you don't need a pair of Jimmy Choos stiletto high heels
as the Readiness of the Gospel of Peace is a much better deal
you don't require a Prada handbag just to show you're with it
if you have in your hand the Biblical Sword of the Spirit
and it's not necessary to put on Ban de Soleil
as the Shield of Faith will cover you each and every day
and you don't need a Kate Spade hat upon your head
as the Helmet of Salvation will have you spirit led
dressed from the inside out now totally and spiritually clad
dressed in the virtues of God, the finest garments to be had

The Fortress Part !

Matters not how much I may want to rescue you
That closed steel door I cannot walk through
Outside the door feet planted firmly on the ground
Knocking every so gently trying not to pound
But everytime my knuckles on the door they tap
Stinging fire flies out and my face is slapped
Through the pain I can hear your plaintiff calling
For something to save you from further falling
So to my purpose I try bravely to stay true
Attempting to find a path to get through
To figure out a way in which my spirit can fly
Over walls of brick so tall they touch the sky
A prisoner within chained by ego, pain and guilt
There I can see the Fortress you've built
Out of the windows fire of anger consumes
Any real healing touch you continue to refuse
Because the rescue does not come totally free
Only you have the power to open the door and choose to believe
"Can't and won't take the risk you say
Of the sorrow you'd feel when it all blows away
Denying that you must search deep down inside
Beyond your walls and utterly foolish pride
You can keep decorating the walls as long as you like
And continue convincing yourself it's your lot in life
And when the spirits that be send you a sign
Crush it with cruelty and continue to resign
To the anger that keeps reaching out with a fire that burns
Against a true spirit whose soul only yearns
For nothing more than to grant your wish
Of inner peace and true love sealed with a kiss
But all the angry fire steals my strength
Taking my sensitive spirit to it's very length
My failure then scars my heart truly bad
That after the pain I become so very sad
Once able to see through my heartfelt tears
I know it so well and can feel all your fears
If only my love spirit I wish for you to see
How I offer all I have to you so humbly
Because even after the faeries come carry me away
The gift I give to you is to ease your dismay
No intent to cause pain or wreak havoc in your heart
Just only for you to escape the lonely part
Simple and free with no evil involved
"First" you say. "So many issues to resolve"
The walls of brick you've built over time
Seems like an eternity they would take to climb
When all along if you so choose
With a blink of an eye and not a moment to lose
It's been a matter of your choice to reach beyond
Those walls of protection to which you've grown so fond

Eloquent Gems Part 2

ELOQUENT GEMS

Part 2

But it’s show time, word genius making a fuss within ya brain hemispheres,
I’m rear in all the ages, pages outdating your solar systems burning spheres,
I leave ya mind scared with the truth, scared of what you will lose,
These writings are like hip hop and blues, blowing your mental fuse,
Your used, abused by your ignorance, cant advance from ya current mind stance,
With plans upon this planet, over running ruins, within ya delusions, ya say plans?
You ran away from your divine land, residing instead blind following lies,
Firmly as earning spiritual advice, nice and nicely played out well,
As you fell I tell a real story of glory of the real history with fury,
Furious but word notorious, worry about these things, they are nearly near,
Yeah bearing witness to those that stumble and don’t get up, find ya wings,
Hear the voices singing songs, lethal sequels seeking ears to hear,
Fear the mighty word warrior, steer your vessel, bless you from the summit, right up there,
But I don’t care, I steer a mind behind the vessel, as I wrestle good and evil,
Always climbing levels…. Depart devils, be gone please, ya don’t stand a chance,
One glance of these words puts you in a trance of stagnant brain operation,
Change up ya station,
Excellent, your seeds growing,
Into a plant with enhanced reception,
Tuning in, dismantle the stress,
Confess your ruining ya perception,
In the life of Mass Deception!!!
The completion is to reach them, all of them,
Mindfully seen through intervened letters to them,
Them? Who’s them? Remnants of the mighty men of old?
The Chosen few… come on I don’t know….
So I can’t just follow in blind faith,
Distasteful foul ways of the fools,
Who are schooled within disgraceful enslaved schools,
Check ya schedule, Like King Saul you will fall,
Slayed by your own sword and missed out on the reward,
Plagued by an evil spirit, devils mindset absorbed,
Records show a man that didn’t grow so jumped overboard,
Absorb these words, sort what distorts and delete,
Don’t retreat and be defeated in this heated war of good and evil,
Find your tranquil place and be seated, meet the inner self,
Where the real help resides, inside your house, your temple,
Disassemble and reassemble yourself, resemble principles possible,
Irreversible when awake!!!

Premium Member I Talked Again

It was when I reached my fortieth birthday.
Not so young, but, youthfulness ruled the day.
I was known as an educationist, around,
My intelligence and wisdom, they felt, was sound.
Not many were invited to my birthday party,
My friends said I looked hale-and-hearty.
Cut the cake and with all simple meals shared,
I felt, as though by all, I was loved and cared.
It's when I stood to thank each one that evening,
Something tucked my tongue for no evident reasoning.
I stood silent, shocked, perplexed and lost,
None could understand what had happened to the host.
I tried to talk. I could not. Tried again; failed!
Not knowing my state of mind my friends hailed.
When, after hard trials, like dew drops, my tears spilt,
All, around, understood. Lo! There’s some tilt…
They took hold of me and asked me what happened,
I could not articulate; all seemed so saddened.
Doctor - some said; That's what they soon did,
None could remove from my tongue that lid.
I, an orator, remained speechless. Is it God's work?
Or demons do such tricks that God gets the jerk?
I resigned to the state of affairs and remained silent,
Everyone around understood this and became quiet.
I felt my trouble is nothing before John Milton,
I could see; he could not; My path is, hence, silken.
Pain in me, yet, grew, like fire in a dry forest,
Though I seemed silent, within I had great tempest.
Having found no remedy in treatments mountainous,
I turned to God, who is bundle of boundlessness.
I surrendered to him and said - Give me speech -
In return, I will, your glories ever preach.
In return? O fool! What would you give God?
Inner mind said. What could to God you award?
It's, hence, I lay before him, as though dead,
As mute as a muted lute, I went ahead.
In one of praise and worship during night adoration,
I could feel, within my tongue, certain restoration.
Is it reality or illusion? I did never know,
Dumb will speak, scriptures said, if believed so.
I believed; trusted; relied on his immense power,
Many prayed during that very long operation hour.
I talked. They could understand me as before,
Does anyone know, yet, the truth within the core...???
God and God alone is the truth I firmly say,
Without him, for salvation, there is no other way...!

The Voices In Me

As i sit on this bathroom floor,
gripping a blade in my hand, with it
firmly pressed on my left wrist. I
start thinking this thought that could
change everything.. End everything. I
think of the people who would miss
me. I think of the people who
wouldn't care. I think to myself,
"Should I be doing this", this voice
inside me says, "Yes. Why are you
living anyway? Nobody cares for
you, they wouldn't even notice you're
gone. They don't love you.. Come on,
do it.. End it now, it's the best way..
It's the only way. The sound of the
voice was so weird. Well I can't say the
voice inside of me was wrong. It had
been completely right about
everything. What if this was the only
way? I wish it hadn't been true. It is
the only way. I think to myself, "Suck
it up! It will all be over soon. Just
one, two, three quick slits and you're
done. Get it over with already, i'm
tired of thinking about it! Then all of
a sudden, a voice said, "Stop! What
are you doing? This isn't you." The
voice was so heavenly, so clear, so...
Beautiful. I didn't bother wondering
where the voice came from, because
it came like the weird voice inside
me. I told the voice, "You don't know
me! You don't know anything!" SLIT
SLIT SLIT. Crimson blood, running
down my arm. I feel calm and in
control, but the pain is unbearable.
Unaware of it, I start to feel tears
running down my face. I get dizzy,
the bathroom I lay in gets darker. My
heartbeat gets slower, then, I fall into
a deep sleep. Or what I think was a
deep sleep. After a minute, I get up
from laying on the floor. I look
around, I see blood on the floor and
something else.. Me. Still lying there
on the floor, unconscious. I looked
so relaxed. Then it came to me. "Am
I dead?" Where is hell? Where is
heaven? I committed suicide so
heaven is not an option. I sit back on
the bathroom floor.. Confused. I fell
asleep next to my body. Morning
came, I wake up feeling groggy,
confused. I hear people banging on
the bathroom door and yelling. I
stand up, stumbling. I look around to
see blood still on the floor.. But the
unconscious, bloody body was
gone.. I was gone. Am I alive again? I
cleaned the blood, put on my best
face and hid the scars. I opened the
door and a bright light hit my entire
body like I just stepped into heaven
or something.. Everything is just so
clear now.

she carries the child on tired hips rested on chains ‘round her waist

wasted on freedom designed to serve a white man’s lustful desire

branded inferior as time repeats itself and the pain knows no end

a tattoo on her skin confirms her as chattel in self-righteous shackles

festering wounds of Apartheid resemble the foul stench of humanity

as her child suckles from an empty breast and cries out for more

they did not really abandon slavery merely gave it a different name

too sweet are the rewards of exploiting the world as we know it

division of labour and they enshrined her firmly as an illiterate pawn

her soul wrapped in skin and bones and her eyes like rusted steel

an empty gaze almost gave up on merits of justice from hollow eyes

camped in concentration of power domination she is raped daily

of her dignity while she ploughs on in fields of plenty and the dust

of history and yet she never gives up on struggle for emancipation

some got the vote in a rigged system with dice slicing the fortune

disembowled by wolves in capital’s fangs her innermost treasure

has become hope that succumbs to memories of her forebears

born into poverty and meant to stay there she rattles her manacles

in vain in defeat because leg irons and handcuffs are made from

diamonds and gold in the heartland of theft and misappropriation

when her child dies she carries another from the master’s loins

expendable and forgotten her tears are salty and polish the gyves

and just maybe might help to corrode bilboes and unholy bonds

because human emotions do not forget who triggered the hurt

outcast in a so called homelands or locations she requires a pass

to enter the kingdom of opulence in which she serves as a maid

but the young maiden has become old and dies cleaning their dirt

a stolen life is all that her daughters will remember with hatred

and when they rise they too will die by the greed of their captors

but one day the tables will turn and revolve in anger and retribution

20th August 2020

‘Apartheid’ in South Africa was the system of racial discrimination

Workers needed a ‘passbook’ to enter rich suburbs for work

‘Homelands’ were the allocated regions where black people would live

Their abodes where called ‘locations’ to sweeten the tongue of evil

The Luckiest of Men

The Luckiest of Men
By Rick Rucker

I called on friends yesterday,
They asked if I was okay.

They had never seen me move so slow,
They thought my energy was low.

I assured them I was fine,
I had merely drunk the wine

Of Love, my countenance was pacific,
I have no known disease specific,

Save an enlarged Heart,
Filled with sweetness, as from a tart.

They thought my symptoms somewhat scary,
They began to realize that I was very

Much in Love, no longer had to push, and shove.
My Heart was peaceful as a Dove.

I used to be so tightly wound,
My feet seldom hit the ground.

I ran everywhere I traveled,
My mind seemed to have unraveled.

Suddenly, I can stand,
With another, hand in hand.

She has caused the change in me,
She let my tethered Heart fly free!

How could this have come to pass,
That she could save me from the Morass?

With a little that, and some this,
But mostly with a passionate kiss.

It was our second date,
We had eaten, it was late,

At my watch, I took a peek,
Leaned in then to kiss her cheek,

Then, much to my surprise,
She looked me in the eyes,

And kissed me with a buss so sweet,
That I could scarcely feel my feet!

I didn’t want her to leave,
My chest had begun to heave,

The night was cold, but we were not,
I couldn’t believe that one so hot

Would show, to me, such passion,
In the open, out of fashion!

Finally, she drove away,
But, I was forced to stay,

Firmly rooted to the ground,
My head still spinning all around.

I had been on first and second dates,
Sorting through potential mates,

First, the normal couple’s sparring,
Then, no more dates, and some scarring.

She was the only one,
To have done what she had done!

She had left, and I let her,
But I wanted to practice kissing, getting better.

As her lights faded away,
I knew I couldn’t wait a day

To have another chance
To see if we would find Romance!

Now, we have been out many times,
When we kiss, I hear chimes,

Our dating is now exclusive,
The locations, more reclusive.

I have asked her to be my Wife,
Share my place, share my life.

She is much smarter than me,
She answered that we will wait and see.

I will try to let her see,
How wonderful our life could be.

As I run it all through my head again,
I am sure the luckiest of men!

Gabriel

(A lone voice whispers)

I always used to wonder
Where do Robins go to sleep

Then one dark night
Within a deep all-consuming lucid dream

At approximately one o'clock

A beautiful deity appeared out of the mist

Wearing a blue and white coat

Holding a Lily and a shining lantern

Across its shoulder, a golden trumpet and a branch from Paradise

On its golden belt
Hung a scepter and a silver scroll

As it strolled towards me

Within my illustrious sleeping streams

A strange palace of darkness

Where no birds
Flew or squawked

Its mysterious ever watchful eyes

Held me firmly transfixed
Like an ethereal heavenly hawk

Its bright white orbs
Swallowed me whole

As it whispered words
I'll remember
Until I'm old

Within the light of day,
We appear

Your beloved and even I

To watch over and visit you

To see and follow all that you do

When we, the blessed few

Waiting in the new spectacular bright white lights

In the glorious cathedrals of Atmos, shadowy arches

Cross over
When allowed a brief time

Before we are eventually
Reunited in a new form

To rejoice in hymn
Within your All Highs
Divine Church

Depending upon
The faith of your choice

To visit those we still
Love

To leave a sign or sing
A sonnet

Happily with echoes of our new voice as we too mourn

Then in here
At darkness

In
The Great In-Between

A place you all visit
Whenever you fall asleep

In deep dreams,
We always appear

For real spiritual shapeshifters
Like us

Never really sleep

We just transform into Robins

Through a supernatural technique

For sometimes they are merely vessels
We use

Just one of our everlasting souls keeps

So if you see one
And it sings

Looking straight at you
Remember this

It's just a beloved loved one

Maybe even me
Archangel Gabriel

Channelling
Through

And with that beautiful closing line

It disappeared quietly
Back into the receding winds that whined

Of the Hidden Divine

And when I awoke at eight,
I'm sure it met me

Sat on my old garden's wooden gate

My beautiful friend
Who loves to sit on the washing line

Whispering and singing
Hello

Sending shivers and tingling

Shooting
As I remember that dream

All the way
Up and down

My sinuous
spine
