Seeing your pain crucially torments me…
You asked me to kill you with love and sincerity.
My hands could never be lethal coz I am your cure.
Left me no option but still quite so unsure.
You wear a ragged gown of despair,
Not too cozy to see your life so much impaired.
How long have you fought for this Black Death?
Days of agony just wasted all of your wealth.
Till end of the day I see your pain.
Am I too helpless to see you have nothing to gain?
Pills of remedy are ever too useless.
Magical potion is oddly so clueless.
Now I just have to end your long ache.
It hurts me bad but this is all you have to intake.
Rest and sleep my beloved oh friend.
Your uncured sick must all have to end.

This piece reflects on the landmark Supreme Court Bench deliberation regarding the petition for the mercy euthanasia of a nurse, a victim deeply wronged by a hospital hand. The verdict on euthanasia ruled that the court may allow passive killing on a case-by-case basis, but active killing remains strictly prohibited. Yet, active euthanasia seems far more kind and humane to the patient, whereas passive killing slowly tortures—proving to be inherently cruel. In this petition, head seems to have triumphed over heart. A life that is no life triumphed over death, and true dignity died.

Two hallowed heads strived for a legal edge,
Heard the case—but the horse still trailed the cart,
Took time to ponder— head over the heart,
Spirit of law bowed still to letters' rage.
Sympathized with the plea and not yet still:
‘We allow a passive mercy killing,
One active we can't'— the unfair sibling,
And final word shall be Chair's pondered will.
Fair words always are worth a goodly wait,
Wise words take much slower walk to arrive,
A tune many a white-wig love to drive
At, mercy must wait for her date with fate.
Yet, passive killing scarce can be mercy,
It's too cruel, heartless as inhuman,
It adds, rather than allay patient's pain,
Pity, the justice can't quite that way see.
Murder in mind, red handed if one's caught,
Proved and punished, he might hanged be till dead
As our legal revenge that be red-hot,
But mercy killing's sin—murder in bed.
And look at words of wisdom from the Chair:
Her friend cannot closeness to victim claim,
Few visits make no friends, wise words as were,
Poor she, made to carry the cross called blame!
Poor Mercy, in court room ever decried,
Reducing life as breathing of bare breath,
Justice triumphed— life prevailed over death,
Much before she, her dignity had died.
Poor patient condemned— to live bare to bone,
To live what was no life, nor ever death,
While Lady Justice lost had all of faith,
And she in a much maligned state, in twilight zone,

We're off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz
Because, because, because, because---
Because of the wonderful things he does! …
My name is America, once a land of opportunity
Where gangs rule inner cities, with utter impunity
Where generations live and die at the point of a gun
In 'combat zones' without shelters, with nowhere to run
My name is America, and I've lost my soul
Traded it for *********** and the Super Bowl
Sold it for a work-week of 70-plus hours
In a race to the top for unbridled power
My name is America, and I'm as confused as can be
Not sure if I'm male or female, or a speaking monkey
Should I abort my baby, get a vasectomy?
When I get older, will euthanasia be right for me?
My name is America; I worship money
Faith is for fools; Religion, odd and funny
Morality's only relative, and it's ever-evolving
Narcissism reigns: Around ourselves we're revolving...
So I'm off to the Wizard, to reclaim my lost soul
To put an end to ghettos, to the inter-generational dole
To clear up my confusion, to restore my belief
To be proud to be an American ~ to breathe a sigh of relief
Ah at last camaraderie restored within the Oval Office!
Whew... now with president er... Chief

A black bear climbed a tree.
The tree
was not in a suburb,
more an un-walled hiking space.
A concerned cell phone monitor
caught the bear up a tree
while it was being a bear up a tree.
This cannot stand.
A bear up a tree,
almost near to us,
we who jog, walk, or off-road
near the very same kind of tree!
The press are alerted.
News trucks race to see
a bear up a tree.
Pundits posit humane euthanasia,
some favor dope-filled blow guns,
poles and nets.
The bear cannot hear the news,
for it is up a tree.
An outraged dawn breaks.
The bear is no longer up a tree,
it has been spotted
as definitely not up a tree!
For days no black bear is seen
climbing a tree,
or even a nearby tree.
News trucks race to be
somewhere else.
I let everyone know in my immediate vicinity,
that if you have a pet, any
whereupon euthanasia has become a necessity,
because your pet is suffering needlessly
from a condition that is destined to end terminally,
but you cannot bring yourself to undergo this most difficult deed,
Please Feel Comfortable And Free To Call On Me,
and I will bring your beloved pet to your vet
and I assure you they will all depart with a most glorious exit.
None of them will ever see any tears from me,
none will feel any energy from me suggesting grief.
In my arms they will drift off to their well deserved peace,
When they go all they will feel is all of my positive energy,
but after they are finally gone I will admit truthfully
that I will breakdown and uncontrollably weep,
not just out of sadness for this loss and the survivors bereaved,
but also out of joy, because I know unquestionably,
that I provided your beloved pet the best final exit
your furbaby could have ever received.
I am Reverend BILLYtheKidster,
Animal Last Rights Minister.
Oh yes, I forgot to tell everybody,
I provide this service ABSOLUTLY FREE,
but I'm afraid that you will have to pay for the procedure unfortunately.
I do this a lot and if I paid for every euthanation,
I'd soon thereafter have to file for bankruptcy everyone.
I sent an invitation to all my friends
to come and watch me die
I said, I know you may all be busy
but please at least try.
with the last breath our story is done,
but I hope we shall remain friends
our love should last beyond the grave,
though earth’s journey is at an end.
you may hold my hand or just look
but make sure you are there,
decades of friendship cannot be ignored
I know how much you care.
time has hurried past lanes of living,
some moments remain still in a daze,
that youth, my love, torments and taunts,
all that time lost in meaningless chase.
tears are okay but smiles are the best
when you come to watch me die
in passing we enter God’s eternal rest,
so please come friends, do try.

My friend, do you know me?
I am a Pharisee
No, not per the dictionary
Which mischaracterizes my beliefs and me
For while he keeps the tradition, it's true
A Pharisee's an ever-evolving Jew
He delves deep into the Talmud to learn the ways
to deal with the problems of the world today
Thanks to the Pharisees a Jewish-Israeli farmer
can halakhically* 'Sabbath-milk' a cow in its barn, or
devotedly observe Passover or Yom Kippur
be he in the jungle, outer space, or Kuala Lumpur
What's more, be it abortion, euthanasia or homosexuality
the Talmud treats current issues of controversiality --
A Pharisee views the times in light of the Talmud, you see
~ differentiating his faith from Hebraic-Christianity**

* halakhically = in accordance with Jewish Law, in this case
the laws of the Sabbath
** Practitioners (for a few generations after Jesus Christ)
were known as Hebrew-Christians.
"This rainbow is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh."—Yahweh
You are gentle now, and in your failing hour
how like the child you were, you seem again,
and smile as sadly as the girl (age ten?)
who held the sparrow with the mangled wing
close to her heart. It marveled at your power
but would not mend. And so the world renews
old vows it seemed to make: false promises
spring whispers, as if nothing perishes
that does not resurrect to wilder hues
like rainbows’ eerie pacts we apprehend
but cannot fail to keep. Now in your eyes
I see the end of life that only dies
and does not care for bright, translucent lies.
Are tears so precious? These few, let us spend
together, as before, then lay to rest
these sparrows’ hearts aflutter at each breast.

Bill C-7 is a motion to expand medical assistance in dying (MAID) in Canada to persons with disabilities whose deaths are not foreseeable. Persons with disabilities are protesting that the Canadian government is proposing to offer medically assisted deaths to individuals without offering adequate social supports, housing, medical equipment, nutrition, and mental health supports.
After the pandemic is over
I don’t know if my troubles will be fewer,
or if my life will be valued,
as people see my life as a prelude
to choosing medical assistance in dying —
I don’t know why they’re trying
to imagine life in my shoes,
as something not worthy to choose.
I hope I will be okay,
and all the friends I’ve met along the way,
and we will have the help we need,
and not be stopped by ignorance and greed.
Just because I’m diagnosed with schizophrenia
doesn’t mean I should be worth any less to ya!
And just because I can barely walk
doesn’t mean you shouldn’t listen to me talk!
I don’t know the day I will die,
or all the tears I will cry,
but it’s not up to you to take my tears away,
and causing my death is not okay!
Why don’t you ask what I have to offer society,
instead of offering to put an end to me!
