Believing you are for growing economic opportunities
and shrinking anthropocentric financial risks
AND
believing, to do so,
we must tolerate shrinking environmental EarthMother health
and growing nature's nutritional pathology,
is a confusion of cultural ways
and climate means.

There could be no such anthropocentric thing
as a resilient economic system
that is ecologically extractive,
degenerative

Just as there could be no such thing as a healthy economic system
that is not also a politically cooperative,
more than competitive,
systemic network of compassionate relationships
and appreciative transactions.

It could not be news
that we do not get more
and more
and more valued goodies
out of a relationship
when we invest less
and less
and less
within that relationship.

This is a relationship
that will surely end in divorce
heartbreak
animosity
painful loss
of sacred marriage

Between red-blooded anthropological resilience
and green-beloved ecological resonance.

Brownload In Progress- For Jan

Written for Jan Allison, who then decided I should share it for poop verse afficionados.
True story, by the way.....

There are some jobs where heeding worker's safety is required
and during operations must be suitably attired
environmental hazards mean that everyone conforms
and wearing full length protection has now become the norm.
In this case, paper snowman suit with hood and full length zip
a sturdy piece of clothing and is not inclined to rip.
Whilst clearing out some premises a worker got caught short
and knew he'd never make it to the toilet, so he thought
and made a break for the nearest hedge with a newspaper he'd bought.
Just in time he squatted down, the time lag all too brief
as out in one loud massive jet his bottom got relief.
The job now done he zipped back up and dressed just where he stood
not realising, squatting, that he'd done it in his hood.
It soon became apparent, as his headwear pulled in place
as fly attracting runny doo doo dribbled down his face
His workmates doubled up in laughter, just making it worse
as he stormed off in anger like an Oreo in reverse.
So since time immemorial, the moral's been the same
that when you go, then please do so, but
just you watch your aim.

For Jan, with love 'n hugs and trembly bits, Viv x

Sundarbans

“Sundar means beautiful,” the natives write—
The mangroves of south dance beneath daylight
With the flair of a gypsy drunk and bold
Swirling her skirt of salt. And callous gold
Prowls the swamp after trotting prey in flight.

The sentinels of south guard through the night
And push and pull against the windy might;
Behind their sieving shields, beliefs still hold—
Sundar means beautiful.

The men of south venture without invite
For honey, wood and fish into the plight;
The wives, like fortune, wait at the threshold
Praying and cursing gods foreign or old,
As sleepless children scramble to recite—
Sundar means beautiful.

Sundarbans ( Literal Translation: Beautiful Forest) is a mangrove forest on the delta formed by the super confluence of the Ganges, Padma, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers across southern Bangladesh and Bengal. It's a swamp land that belongs to tigers, crocodiles and well, millions of people who live there and earn their livelihood from the forest. The environmental importance of Sundarbans is colossal as the mangroves protect the coastal areas from erosion, surge storms and tsunamis. In my opinion, without the forest, the human history of this region would have been a completely different one.

Premium Member Taliban Parents

How wrong could I be
were I to assume
most Taliban leaders
in Afghanistan
have aging parents?

Especially mothers,
as it is not specifically healthy
to be a male in such a violent
raped
poverished,
nutritionally-barren place

And Taliban parents
might also have kids hungry and thirsty
and afraid to give us grandkids,
for economic and political starvation reasons.

It might occur to healthy energy democratic leaders
thinkers and feelers
that feeding
and restoring therapeutic ecosystems
could grow better polycultural Afghanistan wealth outcomes
promised by Allah
and YHWH alike.

Restorative, rather than more extractive, retributive justice
could work more WinWin effectively,
than continuing bad karma retributive violent goals
of assured mutual environmental destruction
and inhumane death and dying and terrorizing
paranoid children,
and other forms of almost incalculable dismay
through strategies rooted in punishment
and threat
and counter-terrorism terror,
visiting the sins of fathers
upon Yang soldiers
and Yin sacred daughters and aging mothers alike.

Just an ecopolitical thought
to feed the obvious restorative resolution
rather than first trying to starve out surviving problems
of marginal multigenerationally terrified families
and EarthSoul Tribes of nature

Nature-spirits sown
in TooYang Dominant
retributional stress disorders,
terror,
mental illness,
paranoia,
sleep deprivation,
xenophobia,
depression,
suicide,
rabidity,
hate for outsiders,
fear of strangers,
seething anger about oppressions, repressions, depressions, suppressions,
fear of death and dying and the unknown...

My Favorite Color Is October

The greatest gift that I could give you is the gift of my long years
every shade of burgundy that wine can't sell
every shade of gold that the sun cannot display
the greatest gift that I can give you, is the gift of my years
I am October, I come once a year at your home my love, to
Caress you with shivers both warm and cool. I am a
Teleported month that sweeps away the summers scorch
Opening doors to pastures and rustic pleasures, plum corn
Bathed in yellow juicy grains and bites, acorns, pinecones
Environmental beauties that never exist in winter's spew;

Return to me lover as I puff over you, I am "October "
your favorite color,
silk scarves are put away mink coats are worn
summer suits placed in cedar drawers,
I am suddenly reborn through airy branches of trees
Feasting on your wind whipped eyes of blue
I become October every consecutive year,
your favorite color is October, and mine is you.

Quelled Woes and Afflictions

I have lived in a contest with life until now,
Not to be afraid in anticipation I now solemly vow..................

I have cheated my fears alright,
I have broken up with my doubts uptight.

I got engaged to my faith last night,
I married my dreams at the sight of first light.

I am not afraid to get up today,
I am not afraid to wake up to another day today,

I am not afraid to open my eyes today,
I am not afraid to climb out of bed today.

I see beyond and am not afraid any more,
I see beyond and am not afraid any more.

I am ready to face the world all alone,
I am ready to do anything to walk up the stepping stone.

I am ready to say anything to anyone,
I am ready to talk to anyone under the sun.

I am ready to yell from mountain tops,
I am ready to dive from ravine drops.

I am ready to walk for a cause,
I am ready to run to protect environmental laws.

I am ready to understand tangled issues,
I am ready to wipe all tears with tissues.

I am ready to jump out from a moving truck,
I am ready to pull my allies from loads of muck.

I am ready to be creative again,
I am ready to write and spill out my joys and pain.

I am ready to sing my own songs,
I am ready to correct my own wrongs.

I am ready to throw a stone afar,
I am ready to play my own music for all with the door ajar.

I am ready to write notes about me,
I am ready to put them up for all to see.

I am ready to whistle whilst I walk down the alley,
I am ready to pluck the fruits from the orchards of Sally.

I see beyond and am not afraid any more,
I see beyond and am not afraid any more.

Dear Donald,

I heard it said
it is your position
that reducing carbon emissions
and other climate therapeutic investments
are not a healthy US priority.

I also heard
it is your position
that the federal Environmental Protection Agency
is redundant,
and therefore also not a climate pathology therapeutic resource
on your national priority list.

I also heard
that Puerto Rico
and Florida
and Texas
might have benefited from more environmental protection
from the climate pathologies
that you would re-invest in nonrenewable environmental hazards
like oil fields rather than polyculturing yields,
and nationalistic patriotism
rather than Sacred EarthMatriotism.

Isn't that a bit like
encouraging arsonists to burn
during growing droughts
while also closing down the local Fire Station?
and calling that conflagration
what you had in mind
and relentlessly promised
when you ran as if for better economic government
through active abuse
where once we tolerated mere neglect?

I realize you are not an advocate for universal health and climate care.
Still
it seems we might find some healthier direction
than anti-health care and climate death bed delivery.

We are trying to adjust to lowered political
and educational
and civic
and moral
and health
and environmental therapeutic care,
but your current dive
to find the most toxic bottom line possible
is breath-taking.

Thanks so much
for constantly reminding us
what a great job you are doing.

It would otherwise
be so much more difficult to see
and smell
and feel
and hear
or in any way sense
anything beyond blundering
Business As Usual
mediocrity.

Probably your biggest fake-fan,

Premium Member A Much Smaller Place

Our planet's a much smaller place today:
the internet connects us one-to-one.
And we can understand what others say,
for everyone can talk to anyone:
as all translations are instantly done.

We're now able to link with each other:
learn how we differ, and what goals we share.
Strangers become a sister or brother:
as we expound on love and voice despair,
sharing our cultures, so each is aware.

To keep track of what's happening in life:
we no longer rely upon the news.
And, to help protect endangered wildlife,
we now share global environmental views:
posting pictures of what the world may lose.

The internet changed how we interact:
social media stands in for a friend.
And, as we distinguish fake news from fact:
the net provides a platform where wounds mend
and innate similarities can blend.
