Positives and negatives
Are said to be attracted,
According to our knowledge...
Thus how I may feel
May be haunted by darkness
Or enlightened by happiness.
With every joy,
There is a piece of misery
That comes to toy with my emotions.
My thoughts as vast as the ocean
Are likely to to go through storms
Of winds and waves.
Breezes part of logic
And waves as flowing as feelings,
As I fish for gladness,
I soon reel in powerful thoughts of sadness.
I beg not to die in an ocean of such thoughts.
So then I am set free,
Due to reassurance,
Even though everything positive
That happens to me
Comes with a negative
I shall eventually be saved.
I was out in Deborah’s garden the other day when what should catch my eye
flitting from flower to flower but a monarch butterfly.
A walk through Deborah’s flower garden is brimming with surprises…
Like when that monarch was joined by other butterflies of all colors, shapes and sizes.
Nature is always trying to teach us…for she is experienced, enlightened and wise….
and her most basic lessons are being taught to us…by her butterflies.
Like how nothing is ever permanent…no matter in what stage we’d like to stay
We…and everything around us…all change a little every day.
Like how knowing all life is fragile…once our delicate wings have finally unfurled
we should treat everything with gentleness as we add our beauty to the world.
Like how all butterflies share the flowers…no butterfly is rich…no butterfly is poor…
Like how you never see a butterfly carrying a weapon…or marching off to war.
The average butterfly lives only two weeks…they have only two weeks to try and reach us
which means they cram a lot of material in the lessons they try to teach us.
Nature knows we are not fast learners however…so she has found a way
to keep a kaleidoscope of butterfly teachers constantly coming our way.
I hope one day we will have learned their lessons…
that we too will be experienced enlightened and wise….
It’s a dream that I’ll keep dreaming…
as long as there are butterflies.
To err is human,

All these STOP campaigns
seem to miss my pointed
loser experience
that aiming for what makes me right now happy
is, perhaps, a long-term disgrace
So, what I aim for
instead
is whatever lies
and hiddenness,
safe camouflage
behind
and beneath respectful society's
muttered under sour breath
"good riddance"ness,
I aim for saving face.
You can campaign
all commercial day
and consummating night
to persuade me that my health
is also our happy
absence of communal fright
and resonant,
perhaps even resilient,
brilliantly enlightened
and empowering wealth.
But,
in my heart
of hurt
addiction
depression
anxiety
remorse for an angry life
at least half dead
from fear
you may uncover me
in ways I can't pretend
to self-righteously defend
I need some campaign
even larger than anti-addiction
to thinking either bliss
or blues,

Earth's evolving
devolving runaway mission,
money exchanging zero-sum transmission,
inside a nonzero multiplying transmission
system
Not for peace,

warm embrace,
holistic place

toward peaceful space
and pace.
