Hopelessly Devoted

For Trudy Diane Rider's competition entitled "Hopelessly devoted" (what is your passion)
rhyming required ababbcc:

My mind is racing as I vacate my bed
I need to grab my lap top fast as hell
What rhymes with bed? - it could be red or dead
What rhymes with hell? - perhaps a tolling bell
As my poem emerges, hope it all will gel
I wake each day with rhythm and beat, it's great
To pen it all and see it in print, can't wait.

Buzzing with feelings and words not yet agreed
Muttering syllables, throughout the alphabet
Beating out time and meter at a high speed
When in the soup, will take any help I can get
As beautiful words can change one's whole mindset
I wake each day with rhythm and beat, it's great
To pen it all and see it in the print, can't wait.

Ballads and sonnetts, epics, Haiku's and more
Works by Keats I'll read and then I'll expand
Writing odes to doves and sea birds now ashore
In my native town, midst the sun, sea and the sand
Then I'll dream of Heaney and Joyce and Yeats - And
I'll wake each day with rhythm and beat, it's great
To pen it all and see it in print, can't wait.

It's such a buzz to finally get it out
Inking that picture captured by me alone
Reading it over there sure will be some doubt
Though magic in words that only I can own
Original, seeds that I have newly sewn
I'll wake each day with rhythm and beat, it's great
To pen it all and see it in print, can't wait.

The True Meaning of Christmas

Astonished by the news of her pregnancy, a young Virgin becomes bewildered, only
the assurance of a visit by an angel sent by God, that all is well. That all the adversities
they would face on their journey to Bethlehem{Mary and Joseph} and all the astrocitie's
sure to occur cause of the birth of the baby being carry by Mary, prepares them for the
Miraculous day that Jesus Christ is born. "The true meaning of Christmas", is diversified
by God himself, "Unto us a child is born, unto the pathetic world a Gift is given, a Gift of
Joy and Great Light". In this troublesome world Mary, your baby will become that light.
Smilling faces on all the young face's and Mary and Joseph are part of the Christmas
story, and the sheppards and and the wisemen's are prepared to present him with gifts
after the angel have warn them of this great day and the star settle upon the little king
of Glory.
As we celebrate, and as the day recussiatate's, to many its just another day, but Jo-
seph had thoughts of privily putting Mary away. He has dream's, but the encouraging of
God's angel for a divorce from mary is not to be. "The true meaning of Christmas, is
diversified, someplaces around the world the snow has blanked the city with beauty and
the bird's are flying and forever and ever this day is mortified.

Adorations of An Eagle

High above, through the clouds I see
Snow covered mountain peaks.
High above I soar inside a gentle,
Calming atmosphere of peace.
I do wonder at times why I am so free
To that and other questions I seek the answer
But I, not finding the solution up here
Shake and quiver and conger up fear
Fear questions the Maker’s existence, then an answer appears at last
My flight and my sight, a gift from God, was His simple task
And doing and being is what I do best
Doing and being what God intended is my quest
God shows me the way to receive for today that which I need
Provisions around me, if I just listen, will be
Silently I glide watch and listen as the wind sings, do not fear
There are gifts around in the whistling wind, I do hear
Faith and love will provide, if by faith and love you abide
Be silent my loved one and for the Lord will provide
So I listen to what the creator does say
now go my child and perform the joys of this day
Necessity will answer all of your prayers
Your needs will be filled with tender and care
Soar, dive and glide without a matter this day
What is before you will show you the way.

What I Was Looking For

I FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR THE DAY THAT I FOUND YOU.
NOONE EVER KNEW THE PRICE I WAS GONNA PAY TREACHERY AND MY DISHONESTY.
NOW I AM PRAYING AND ASKING FOR ONE MORE CHANCE TO MAKE IT RIGHT WITH.
NOW THE TIME IS AT HAND THAT EVERY KNEE SHALL BOW TO YOU.
AND EVERY TONGUE SHALL CONFESS YOUR HOLY NAME ON JUDGEMENT DAY.
OH LORD I FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR THE DAY I FOUND YOU.
OH LORD WE BLESS YOUR HOLY NAME.
CAUSE YOU AND YOU ALONE ARE OUR KING OF KINGS.
NOW THE TIME HAS COME THAT WE STAND AT YOUR THRONE.
OUR TRANSGRESSIONS AND EVERYTHING WE'VE DONE WILL BE JUDGED FOR ALL
ETERNITY.
OH LORD I AM GLAD THAT I FOUND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FORTHE DAY I GAVE MY LIFE TO
YOU.
OH LORD HOW I LOVE YOU SO AND I BLESS YOUR HOLY NAME.

A Dream Girl

THERE IS A GIRL THATS IN MY LIFE
I HOPE ONE DAY SHE IS MY WIFE,
AS FOR ALL THE LOVE I HAVE
I TRUST IN YOU AS YOU DRIVE ME MAD,
YOU MAKE MY HEART BEAT LIKE A SPEEDING TRAIN,
I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD FEEL THIS AGAIN,
MY HEART RACES AS TIME GOES ON
AND I WILL LOVE YOU ALL DAY LONG,
MY PULSE IS FLOWING WITH THE BLOOD RUSHING
THROUGH MY VAINS,
MY HEAD IS POUNDING IT DRIVES ME INSANE,
FOR YOUR LOVE IS LIKE A BURNING DESIRE,
I FEEL LIKE MY HEARTS ON FIRE,
THERE IS ONE THING I ASK OF YOU
IS YOUR LOVE FOR ME IS FOREVER TRUE,
MY MY LIFE I WILL TRAT YOU RIGHT
WILL BE THERE FOR YOU DAY AND NIGHT,
I OFFER YOU ALL THE LOVE I HAVE,
AND PRAY TO MAKE YOU REALLY GLAD,
FOR THERE IS ONE THING THAT YOU SHOULD KNOW
I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU OR LET MY LOVE GO,
AS I PROMISE THE HEAVENS ABOVE,
I WILL ALWAYS GIVE YOU MY ETERNAL LOVE,,,

Meaning of Mother

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A MOTHER
IT'S NOT JUST A NAME YOU GIVE TO ANOTHER
IT'S CARING, AND LOVING AND KIND
IT'S THE DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH ONE DAY YOU'LL FIND

IT'S THE RAINBOW YOU'LL FIND
AT THE END OF THE RAIN
IT'S THE FACE THAT LOOKS AT YOU
BUT NEVER WITH SHAME

SHE HAS SOFT SHOULDERS
AND IS ALWAYS STRONG
SHE'S THE ONE THAT YOU RUN TO
WHEN THINGS GO WRONG

SHE'LL NEVER JUDGE YOU
AND SHE WILL ALWAYS CARE
BUT ONE DAY WHEN YOU AWAKE
SHE MAY NOT BE THERE

SO LOVE HER WHILE YOU CAN
BECAUSE TO TAKE HER HOME
HAS ALWAYS BEEN GODS PLAN

SHE'S ONLY HERE
FOR A LITTLE WHILE
BUT YOU WILL ALWAYS
BE HER CHILD

Living Life Day By Day

Living Life Day by Day

I tend to live life day by day,
I always have it's just my way.

Things have been rough for many years,
along the way I've shed many tears.

My life has always been an uphill battle,
it makes it hard to stay in the saddle.

My MOM and best friend passed away in 2002,
since she's been gone I'm not sure what to do.

Friends from poetry soup have gone out of their way,
if it wasn't for their help I might not be here today.

Now all I can do is live life day by day,
like I said it's just my way.

"an Evening In October"

I walk outside on this cool October morning...
My mouth is open to swallow this cool air so alluring...
The taste of fall fills my insides for a hunger not revealing...
A warm stew on the stove, the aroma kisses my kitchen ceiling...
The day mapped out leading to cuddling on the sofa to view a movie...
Feeding my love warm apples as her eyes are a mirror to my fantasy....
With my head on her chest as her fingers run through my hair...
Our world is a painting framed in roses and hung with such care...
A day we live over and over again, and we know its written in the stars
to never ever end....
