You don't want to be caught in the cross hairs
Realize that at times life is not fair
After having minimal guidance
I stood in pure silence
With very little thoughts of violence
While I was trying to understand the science
Nearby some oak and ecualapytus, the size of giants
I worked on my self-reliance
And a broken down appliance
That sat lifeless
Then followed through on any assignments
No desire to forfeit this
In the first stage of metamorphosis
During times of water shortages
Tired of all this boring stuff
But I'm just warming up
From morning past dusk
Power outages and interruptions
Technical difficulties and malfunctions
Across all junctions
And near any ships intact or sunken
It either went with or against custom
In a world full of power and corruption
Don't count your chickens before they hatch
And expect it all to last
Especially if you didn't study up on all the facts
They say lose lips
Sink ships
Even cruise ships
And any big fish
I help up my two fists
But didn't expect anyone to dig this
Even though this all has been true ****
For many, it always made them think a bit
I try to make it all worthwhile
So we can see the people on Earth smile
Except for any that try to hurt a child
My style is compiled
From all the traveled miles
Even though it's still rather wild
Life, nothing short of miraculous
Above and below buried and unearthed amethyst
Near and far from fields growing radishes
Among objects moving or inanimate
Like a mannequin
You can hear the sounds of an occasional ambulance
Whether or not involving, accidents or something scandalous
Some of which occured over, cannabis and short-handedness
Cause minimal to much damages
Close to and beyond any contaminants
As well as inhabitants
It all couldn't be unanimous
And this is far from my final analysis
Life is a life
Driving home I nearly hit a rabbit
braked hard and the can of lager fell out of my hand.
We country folk drinks a lot; the police never stop you
unless you drive off the road and plough into a flock of sheep
then you are fined, and the police take the carcass home
dinner, for a big family.
So who am I sentimental over a rabbit when
there are chemical attacks on children in Syria,
and the war of attrition never ends
by courtesy of those who do not want peace there.
How am I sentimental when children are killed?
In Gaza children wounded by teargas have damages lungs
who am I to talk when witnessing the murder of a people?
That demands to be free of Israeli tyranny.
But deep in my heart if I were hungry enough, I would
have killed that rabbit taken it home and cooked it.
So what this makes me? A sentimental fool crying
over spilt life? Deaths for a higher political cause
like stealing land from the losers.
Skyscrapers on Fire
Rising high like an eagle above the surrounding real estate,
These giants of commercialism were engineered and designed to last.
Viewed from another state and across the Hudson, they were towers of pride.
Years earlier, an attempt by terrorists had been launched to destroy them.
Though damages ensued and questions raised, skyscrapers, both one and two, refused to fall.
The rage and hatred for everything the towers stood for, also refused to fall.
What was so wrong with free thought, free trade, free press, and free religion too?
The Berlin wall had fallen, and disarmament also appeared to be right around the corner.
America’s economy had risen from the ashes; debts and deficits were also falling.
But suddenly, we saw in the sky, not birds or superman, but non military passenger planes crashing the towers.
Breathtaking! overwhelming!and unbelievable!
Such were fitting words to describe the tragedy.
First the sound, then the fires and smoke.
And then? Could the towers really be falling? Twin Flames! Twin Towers! Prayers rang out! “O my God!”

Living vehicle on Earth of Earthly life
driving through the path of actions
accompanying with all other living vehicles
having or not nearer and dearer relationships
keep in mind that others have their own destinations
need to carry on duties for the sake of responsibilities
to keep all safe on the way from any damages
even of self try to reach self destination
few run slowly with slow thoughts
few slightly speedier as bi-cycles do with
few on motor bikes few on costly cars’ speed
someone ends nearby someone ends at distant
help if anyone falls in trouble on the route
because all we pave towards individual destinations
for safety and security need to take proper care
to help others to help self duty’s to share
What does it require to wake up and face life again
After damages and abuses keep my soul all stained
Swirling around me is a tornado hauntingly distressing
A tornado in which ghosts thrive, to keep my misery abounding
It is almost as if I am forbidden
To enjoy the apples of Earth's temporary garden!
Poetry, thankfully, healing, soothing and rejuvenating, keeps me going
Hopeful and expecting for more inspirational heightening
Pray, I guess life in this mortal plane is simply as it is
Meant never to complete us, meant to keep us in unease
Have I learnt and accepted that here, one never begets all that one wills
Yes, pray, a motto I have made mine own, so that my ghosts do meet with kills!

Where, I wonder, at this late hour,
are the poems that long I've lost?
There must be hundreds. I think of those
I once wrote then put aside that
I might preserve them for a while
then find again to gauge their worth --
change a word, rethink a line --
or, satisfied, simply let them be.
They all reflected "me" as I must have been,
way back then, when I wrote them.
A partial fragment -- a line or two --
pops up in memory to recall to me
who I was -- along with special "friends"
(and more than "friends") -- a time of troubles --
damages I inflicted on myself (and them) --
my moodiness, the walls I built around
me so very long ago. Yet still in my memory
are those "friends". They were all led on and
were all fled from, but are all remembered.
Those lost "verses", now, could occupy, comfort,
and perhaps distract me when innate despair
pervades my all-too-frequent solitary nights.

The 5th Period of the Spanish Era of Philippine History:
Revolution Against Spanish Rule
Upon the arrest of Dr. Jose Rizal
The Filipinos resorted to another reprisal
When the Propaganda Movement became dead
Another movement, the Katipunan, was founded
If the Propaganda Movement aimed into Spain assimilation
The Katipunan wanted from Spain separation
If the former engaged Spain with ink & word
The latter encountered Spain with blood & sword
The Katipunan became the war machine of the Revolution
Which eventually spread althroughout the nation
At its start, it was headed by Andres Bonifacio
At its finale, this struggle was led by Emilio Aguinaldo
Aguinaldo led many successful battles
The power of Spain in the Philippines turned into shambles
When both sides, Spaniards & Filipinos, already incurred heavy losses
They both agreed for reparation of damages
This is the 5th Period of Spanish Era – Revolution Against Spanish Rule
The twilight of Spanish colonialism, the time when Filipinos were full
Now, this upheaval on a standstill made a deal in Biak-na-Bato
God was preparing a new dawn for the Philippine archipelago.

*Periods on the Eras of the Philippine History
US AND THE STATE OF THE WORLD
With our present world encapsulated
In a shell of abject tragedy, it’s becoming
Painfully difficult to pen pleasurable words
Of the beautiful glow of the graces of nature
As that of humankind blooms dark graveness:-
Today, declining humor, splendor, and praising,
Are at their lowest ebb on the shores of time as
Pandora’s Box continues to overflow pandemonium
Leaving us floating in waters of war meandering with
Spewed murdered blood of innocent human life…flowing.
Once again, a devilish power-mongering oppressor
Audaciously justifies mass murdering of women, men,
And their innocent children; mendaciously taking pride
In physical and mental collateral damages excreted by war
In the droppings of cesspool bombings from the butt of hell:-
Yet, despite the present-day earthly living hell
We now find ourselves blistering in, let us not melt
Into apathetic despair and hopelessness; but faithfully
Believe the truth-laden resounding echoing of these words:
“…Whatsoever man soweth, so shall he reap.”
Indeed, let us forever be mindful that in our sojourn here,
“Every event…[challenge]…is a…[revealing lesson]…from God.”
And that each of these events comes with an allegorical message
Which when perceived and understood, we’re again blessed
And become enlightened with divine wisdom and guidance.
May the divine wisdom and guidance reveal unto us,
The foot-printed pathway for us with no more cheeks
To turn but yet, seek not to become Satan’s little devils;
For the nature and keloid scares of our oppression, reveals
Today, the Devil and his own, indeed “…know what they do.”
A downpour of torrential rain is all I see
out my sill so clear with dark intensified-
I see the thrashing from lightning on my willow tree,
as this thunderstorm is a cyclone personified.
I can sense the squall through my veins,
feel the resonating vibrations of hail on my roof-
Soon only devastating destruction remains,
I am astounded by the clouds; stoic and aloof.
The temperatures rise and fall without warning,
August shouldn’t be this cold during the day-
I know I shall awake tomorrow morning
to damages on my lawn and down by the bay.
The staggering rage of mother nature has begun,
a tempest in the worst possible degree-
I long for the moment I can see the western sun,
a downpour of torrential rain is all I see.
