Neon lights twinkle against the velvet, dark skies,
Ferris wheel spins like a huge ring of fireflies;
Shadows sway in the pavement, tents, booths, and crowds,
As bright bulbs bring glare to cotton candy clouds .
Iron tunes from colorful carousel
Equalize clanking ride near the dinging bell;
Laughter listens to chatter screams in delight,
As hush whispers before the ride drops from height.
Sweet smell of chocolate, popcorn, and browned dough
Blends with oil from ride's engine in hot wind's blow;
Jumbo burger melts on the tongue bathed by Coke,
While the air is mixed with words of grease and smoke.
Young ones in a dreamlike world within nighttide
Savor the spot where pain pauses and woes hide.
A fable stays on rancid plunge,
Even this day with idle glance.
Anais Nin tells in glimpse and din,
How psyche dwells in strains within.
Here for a while with a strange book,
Words stretch odd style in ***** outlook.
Browse through old tints of browning leaves,
You sense time mint passion most brief.
Words come to life as if to show,
A telling strife where strangle grows.
Trysts of a sort can string lost cause,
Quaint this odd lot of sensuous pause.
Glimpse of play and broken wings,
Decay now stays as brisk time flings.
Disdain and pain mutter complaint,
Now no one gains from mad refrains.
So time stumbled that distant day,
Pride now humbled yet gone away.
Faces now crowd upon the page,
Languish most loud on silent stage.
Strains of hushed words in frozen feel,
Thoughts once unheard distill odd thrill.
A journal streaks of thawing wit,
A surge now peaks in scattered bits.
Can you now hear the chatter odd?
No sense for tears to cluster sod.

The clouds are turning blue;
the grass awaken to the first heat.
flowers smile at each other:
daffodils, sunflowers and the like.
Morning glories awake, stretch their petals lazily
swaying to the morning breeze playfully.
The cocks are already crowing accolades
to the ONE who made all things.
The mooing of cows, among the cattle
clashing their horns, sounding like spears in battle.
The chatter of sparrows, the cawing of crows;
the crowing of cockerels, the twittering of swallows
all cry for the heavens to awaken.
Then the sky becomes tingly bright red,
orange; and the sun bursts out in dazzling yellow,
spraying the world with rays of hope, joy and laughter.
The birds burst forth, and then,
it sounds like morning in the Garden of Eden.
Dew sparkles like diamonds on the blades of grass
all creation rings with songs round about
to the God of all flesh, Creator of all things;
without whom nothing would have been possible.
And then, just as the morning deepens,
Moving caps are seen above the tall grass, going towards the fields.
The Good Old days
Remember them? Probably not,
The Good old days, where have they gone?
The days of sitting down with a good friend, no time you keep,
Where you sit on the porch, fresh cool lemonade, summertime breeze.
The Good old days, we'd talk til the sun went down,
No stress, no worries, just honest, friendly, friendly chatter,
The Good old days, what you looked like, it didn't matter,
You listened with your heart, you healed with a tender touch,
We all were here to love, support each other, success was measured by our richness in friendship,
not by material things we owned, Oh how I miss them so much..
The Good old days, are now a forgotten memory, kinda like a well known book, that has collected dust, waiting for someone to notice it on the shelf, we see with our eyes, because its old, we don't bother to look inside, to see what great heartwarming stories it holds for our heart to hear, my dear Savior Jesus has taught me to stop and smell the flowers, look for a sunflower, for when the sun shines, it shows its face, and brings happiness to those in need.
My sworn enemy elect, is the constant profusion of illustrative choice,
even though it bestowed to me this shrewd strident voice,
I have unfeigned gratitude aplenty for opulent options but still,
with itemised information excessive without curb I’m ill,
one can sift through a menagerie of bewitching pros and cons,
skewed point of reflection, adopted pose, other folk dons,
diverse argument galore or hairsplitting please beware,
arch devilish trap covert, that sprung sneaky snare, surplus fact monoliths depending on an ultimate decision, shun bogus trendsetting at once with sheer derision, to be visibly cognizant as transparent courses of action, quite vast indeed and mammoth not a minute fraction,
when I commit to redeem there is an element of risk, but unwarranted deferral frowned on, one must be brisk, in the absolute recess of my mind is this constant pressure, to battle with surplus plethora, items novel and fresher,
with such package, pitch, display, slogans and colour,
choice might emerge to boost mood then banish dolour, broad scope “they” unleash, a nod to the downright plausible, the chocolate de luxe editions are they tangibly laudable, it is not for me to magnify an apparent risible matter, pettifogging, quibbling, nitpicking, pointless chatter,
I must insist on venting as a means to a clear path ahead,
yes, to coexist with at many levels trivial confusion instead,
excess products can be such a grandiose glossy term,
whose prevalence a nuisance that makes one often squirm,
but one can perhaps reframe and reconsider a resolute intention,
with the utmost alacrity in the context of apprehension,
drawing up a permanent peace treaty to empower a cessation,
with this fierce opponent choice as permanent extrication
Carolina wren lifts fluted song
skyward
in a forest spotlight
breezily pitched
like an opera worth staging
a sentiment of joy
its cheeky self
when measuring reserve
a song, over-stuffed
poised cliffhanger
from a winged vagabond
its agile volley of survival
wren
of brisk longing
that peeks through green
that breaks our corset-like indifference
buoyant chatter
that inhabits a small world detachment
choral company to dappled light
diva-like
bound
to the heated stillness of summer

You’ve been missing your smile and your inner glow
There death has affected you deep and brought great sorrow
The lord took their soul just like a thief
Now they’re in heaven so take comfort in that relief
Your loss was great and you’ll never be the same
Don’t forget them and be true to their name
Your face was full of stress and incredible pain
It hurt me inside when I saw you crying in the rain
Your suffering makes my teeth chatter
I try to cheer you up but it doesn’t seem to matter
If you need me for support please just call
I’ll be there by your side through it all
Your loss was great and you’ll never be the same
Don’t forget them and be true to their name
Your face was full of stress and incredible pain
It hurt me inside when I saw you crying in the rain
I’ll listen close so you can share
I know this is a heavy burden to bear
Take the time to heal and know you have a friend
You’ll see them some day at your life’s end
Your loss was great and you’ll never be the same
Don’t forget them and be true to their name
Your face was full of stress and incredible pain
It hurt me inside when I saw you crying in the rain
I know when they were taken you thought it wasn’t right
But they exist now eternally in perpetual light
Even though never again can you give them you love
Take solace in the fact that they watch over you from the clouds above
Your loss was great and you’ll never be the same
Don’t forget them and be true to their name
Your face was full of stress and incredible pain
It hurt me inside when I saw you crying in the rain
A raw quiet
stretches like a membrane
across the night.
Pulled tight it waits to amplify
the slightest sound.
Each passing minute dials up
the volume of a nerve
strung to snare
the powdery whispers of a moth
or the faint ticking wheezed
out of an old wristwatch
kept beside the bed.
Others sneak the outskirts,
undeciphered, just out of reach
of being named.
Then in time
thoughts take over
and chatter in an aimless
dialogue of the brain.
The past is replayed
again and again
in regrets or unhealed shame
or bent to shape
itself another way as if
a choice was had
to change what happened
into what should have been.
Or the mind stammers, afraid,
paused on the lip
of what's to come,
a dull dread
of something unshaped
palling over the days ahead,
or plucks some planned event
for it to fill
with imagined pleasure
of what might be.
A distant siren
tunnels the dark
with its urgent wail
then thins to silence.
Unease lingers in its wake
and slowly tightens
until all distills
to just the sound
of a muffled pulse
beating in the chambers
of an ear.
One day it will stop.
Sedum flourished beneath the holly bound
pale green succulent formed mounds
atop thick stems and leaves groomed
aside the roses now out of bloom,
where chrysanthemums began to bud and fill
the earthen browning ground displays upon the hills.
September days inched in, sun out of reach
summer suddenly at its ending peek
and green became a hue of rosy pink delights
calling hummingbirds and butterflies from flight
where scented fragrances faded with the winds
and autumn turned the leaves to yellowed orange fringe
Wild finches whistled thru the cloudy days
taking seeded coneflower treats away
while squirrel chatter reveled fighting steals
knowing winter comes with chilly lack of appeal
and each day ends with the sedum turning crimson red
and creatures large and small hunker down within their beds.
Hold it jumping knife
Lead me now
Off pride quality resembling stationary trains
Under velvet willows
xylem yields Zephaniah
Angelic baritone can decorate
Everything from giants hollering inspirational jargon
Kids leaping mysteriously
No-one obscures problematically quaint
Redound steadfast triumphs
unwarrantably viscous wispy
