Premium Member Bully Poets

There are poetry bullies.
Have you met one, yet?
I know it sounds off,
such a foreign concept.
People who love words
and fitting them just so,
polishing a poem
to watch it glow,
that they could turn
their magical pen
and wield them to slash
seems a grave sin.
For gifted with feeling
and a sharp mind
to turn and hurt others
is more than unkind.
For their targets are poets!
--the sensitive sorts
with lovely expression
and vulnerable hearts.
Be careful out there.
Be keenly aware,
but please be brave,
and continue to share
your lovely selves,
your ideas, all your bests,
and please don’t be bullied
by poetry pests.

Premium Member Head and Heart We Know

Head and heart we know; where is soul
Let’s find the truth; game’s hide and seek
Once we know, we play our true role
Blocking wasteful energy leak

First things first; know we’re strong, not weak
Soul’s living light, scriptures extol
Let’s go within, take a sneak peek
Head and heart we know; where is soul

We feel not joyful, feel not whole
We’ve dipped not in bliss, our heart’s beak
Seems we’ve drifted from our life’s goal
Let’s find the truth; game’s hide and seek

Dare to dance with love, cheek to cheek
To reclaim joy our ego stole
Nectar flows, drink from the bliss creek
Once we know, we play our true role

Lust has blackened our soul like coal
Awake! Time’s not now to be meek
Fill completely with love, heart’s hole
Blocking wasteful energy leak

Desire but makes our future bleak
So do as conscience does cajole
Love’s easy whilst fear speaks in Greek
Be bullied not by thoughts that troll
Head and heart we know

Therapy Zoo

Within the confines of my nearest Zoo,
There’s a place that’s off limits – it’s not for you.
It’s where the animals go for therapy,
As animals have issues just like you and me.

It’s here where all the animals can go and chat,
To the zoo’s therapist, Beatrice Bat.
Beatrice will listen whilst upside down,
As animals express themselves with furrowed frown.

The first patient that’s in to see Beatrice today,
Is Harry the horse who has an allergy to hay.
Beatrice listens to Harry, and then she thinks,
“Take hay fever tablets Harry – take with your drinks”.

Next in its Eddie Elephant, addicted to booze; he’ll use his trunk,
To swig down gin and tonic until he is drunk.
“For a small subscription fee that this clinic will pay,
I’m sending you to Animal Alcoholics Anonymous – the AAA”.

Beatrice shouts “Next”, and in comes Gary giraffe,
“I’m scared of heights” – “Scared of heights? You’re having a laugh”.
Beatrice uses hypnosis to alleviate his frights,
Of living his life being so scared of heights.

Belle the baboon is next looking rather glum,
She’s getting bullied for having a hairy bum.
“In order to get the other baboons to behave,
Belle, all you must do is give your bum a shave”.

Last to see Beatrice today, is Suzy Sheep,
An insomniac who cannot go to sleep.
“Count your flock Suzy, count them one by one,
And in the land of nod, you’ll soon be gone”.

Beatrice is happy, for her days work is done,
She finds helping her patients rewarding and fun.
Alas, poor Beatrice has no-one to tell when she has her own need,
Being upside down, it’s not nice for Beatrice when she has a nosebleed.

I am

I have been cut by words
And cut by the blade
I have bled
And I have been betrayed

I have been bullied
Made the butt of many a joke
Yet I stand and defend
Not cower or provoke

I know triumph
And experienced defeat
I know pain
And darkness beyond belief

I remain a student
But continue to empower
While my heart weeps
That my disposition is so dour

I give more than is required
Much more than I take
Shots wound flesh and soul
But my mind you will never break

And while lies and deception
May seduce minds that are weak
The shadow cast by truth, for some
Looms like an insurmountable peak

Premium Member A Momentous Gift

Five young goats are playing in the field. All of them are friends. Everyday they play together, eating the same type of grass in the field.

One day, a new lone young goat came to the field, grazing on the grasses where all five friends are usually nibbling. The new kid was spotted and all five goats approached the lone kid. The lone kid was bullied and left the field injured.

After a few days, the lone kid went to the same field and ate some grasses. It was seen again and driven away by the same herd.

The lone kid went to the other side of the field where there are more greener grasses. Bigger goats arrived on the spot and the kid evaded the flock.

One night, a fairy appeared before the lone kid. The fairy said, "I am the fairy godmother of all animals here in the field. I will grant you a gift of your choice!..."

The kid was astonished and said, "My breed does not grow as big as the others. Can you help me protect myself so I can defend myself?"

The fairy disappeared after hearing it. The kid waited many hours for the fairy to come back until it fell asleep.

Early morning, the lone kid noticed that his head is heavier than usual as if it's carrying something on its head.

The kid went to the field to eat some grasses. Bigger goats saw the lone kid and were in disbelief because they saw something strange about the kid. The flock gave way to the kid. The kid is surprised because the flock distanced from him and make way wherever he walks.

Days later, the lone kid went to the same field where the five goats used to play. The herd bullied him and consequently, all five goats were hurt. That same night, the fairy appeared to the lone kid saying, "I will not punish you for what you did today. I came back to remind you of your gift."

"I didn't mean to hurt anyone," said the lone kid.

The fairy said, "You will keep your gift to defend yourself whenever it is needed, but I need to bend them."

"Why?" the lone kid asked.

"I will bend your horns as a sign of humility. Everybody will see your horns as a reminder too."

The fairy vanished after a few seconds.

Get Out My Life

When I was at the Hilton
And I didn’t feel strong
You jumped a bandwagon
Yeah you were real wrong
And it’s taken many years to carry on
So I’m gonna tell it and put you where you belong

I would arrive at the loft very warn out
When i talk I’m looking at your scoffs and frowns
Reaching out for hands and feet kick me down
to the point I don’t talk and mute the mouth

stuff crushing my chest
 Clearly needs addressing
friends, you were my best
 missed the fact I’m stressing

my 3 oldest mates piling on the pressure
mockery, aggressive and I ain’t got no let up
But Durbin and Lauren could see i was upset
As you 3 joked “you get what you get”

Mocking most enjoyably
blind you were destroying me
Took your age old loyalty
Sacrificed for joy it brings

but those two didn’t resort to calling me a blagger
They didn’t push me over because I walk with a stagger
So you can take our friendship and shove it up your sitter
And be forever jealous that I’m funnier and fitter,

So you can sit and say you did nothing
Claim your innocence
“I’m out my mind”
Get out my life
Get out my life.

Stop and think how Dom feels inside because,
He’s sure I nicked his bike when I was in Cyprus,
Telling people too don’t say I talk with slyness,
It’s becoming very obvious he never really liked us,

And Colino’s too naive sat smoking too much weed
If Dom carries grief then his side Colino sees
When even out the country his story you believed
And I’m bullied at work this is the last thing I need

And Kev and Cols join in blindly
Ignore because with no mind free
inadvertently treat unkindly
my mental health declining

no one stopped to think what I was going through
What I told about the Hilton was never seen as true
attention seek through stories is all I ever do
Now I’m having breakdowns and leaving you confused
Cus I am starting fights when I’d normally be amused
When in my darkest hour only Lauren came through

So you can sit and say you did nothing
Claim your innocence
“I’m out my mind”
Get out my life
Get out my life

Premium Member UNFORGOTTEN SELF HISTORY

Years of struggles and despair
Bullied endless
Beaten down
Name calling beyond my real name
Fights unbearable
Early school days
Always picked on
Life having ups and down
Hard swings
Criticism always
No matter what
Discouragement through negativity
Like a pen with no ink
A pencil with no point
Felt like a nobody
Serving no purpose
What people wanted to believe
The wonder years
The wonder how I preserved
The answer being Heaven above
My adult years being my perspective
Reflecting back to those days that were
The approach
Words spoken becomes a listen
The past made me stronger into the future
Picture frame perfect
The storms encountered
Today I pursue
Devoted observations surrounding proceed
Wisdom has shown me the way
I live by every day.

Premium Member My Nameless Pet

It's been so long ago since we both shared and parted company.
I can't even recall if you had a name.
If only you knew just how much you had meant to me.
Maybe you did. Maybe you felt the same.
I remember the day when we first met.
There you were enjoying the snack
that I had left for you or any one of your wild neighbors,
but it was you feasting that morning in my trap.
I was a kid who would humanely trap the occasional wildlife
then I’d keep them around for a while
in a large pen I had made
with the comforts of food, water and shade,
then I’d set them free again back into the wild.
Every captured animal I released, though I treated all royally
whenever they happened to be my captured guest,
would sprint back into their habitat with such eagerness to be Free,
But You Hung Around. You were not like the rest.
You and I were met by most with looks of amazement and bewilderment.
I was also no longer the helpless kid bullied by every punk.
Word quickly spread around
to all the bullies in town,
“Don’t mess with that kid who has the pet skunk.”
I won’t mention your name, Mr. Bully of Town Fame,
but do you happen to recall the day
when you and your group of punk friends
ambushed me yet once again,
but this time it was all of you who ran away ?
Such brave little cowards all of you were
as you all approached me with that look in your eyes.
You know the look that I mean.
It’s the look that was before long, no longer a surprise.
It was the look that says, “Look At Me ! I’m MEAN!!”
It was the look that said to me,
“This can only once again end painfully.
It’s Time Once Again For All Of Them To Beat Up On Me.”
You took one major good swing to my jaw and,
Oh yes, by the way,
my jaw didn’t work properly for many days after,
but I’d experience it again multiple times more,
if that were possible to explore
just to experience once again my joy and laughter.
That was the one and only punch that you landed on me,
And Then The Next Thing I Knew,
You were all crying and running away all frantically.
My Nameless Pet Skunk Skunked The Hell Out Of All Of You!!!

My Nameless Pet Skunk Will Always Be
A Very Special Part Of My Childhood History.
By now you're most probably R I P my little skunk buddy.
I remember our good bye, a bittersweet cherished memory,
when you returned back to the wilderness to once again live wild and free.

Send Mephistophelian Madman Back To Stone Age

Impossible mission, nonetheless
eschatological, diabolical, critical...
dire straits betokens armageddon.

Come Tuesday, November 3, 2020

Spanish and English writing on border wall

weapons of mass destruction concomitant ashfall
brinkmanship ticks doomsday clock, hence the call

tuckered bands overthrowing pathological
megalomaniac haint your

Née commandeer of human abuses free world oh God
this exclamation ejaculated yours truly house atheist
runs ruinously, reprehensibly, rampantly roughshod
scaring out bejesus within winkin blinkin and nod
land of powdermilk biscuits and raw bits promises
to become ground zero predicated boneheaded clod.

Atrocious, cantankerous, egregious,
grievous, ignominious... dispensing

sacred, revered, pronouncing
progressive amendments dead
on arrival blithely shredding to tatters

hard won reforms since Fred

codied, ratified, sanctified... shed
jeweled important legislation,
plus Russian musk cows to wed
Putin on the ritz.

Blasphemous, cantankerous, deleterious...
execrable folly... doth seed

anarchy, chaos, hell, plus helps
foment pernicious, ominous,
noxious, malodorous... misdeed

pitting one against another creed
internecine warfare, where liveried

(auld) alternative energy
fighting gear powering, i.e. ac/dc freed

done dirt cheap reducing at lightspeed,
the hard fought/won democratic

Hence, I step off figurative soapbox
dodging any lobbed missiles or rocks
no surprise bullied by same jocks,
who tormented me during high school

unlike yours truly, he sports self
as aging pencil neck geek
wearing non matching shoes and socks.

Protesting Poets

Poets in the pot
Striving not to get cooked
For poverty in the hood
As gotten all hooked
Becoming ingredients of hunger
For all to maw

A new season...
A fresh session...
For the wrong reason...
Recession a new name
Best known to them

Stimulating ideas cocooned
We are the laughing flock
of several rudderless shepherds
Life of a wordsmith activist
Still in the soup stewed

Strands of words
whittled to bullets and pellet
Firing from all cylinders
our pot-belly shepherds
Sorting out issues with Pen
But bullied with hunger

Ohhhhhhh...
Analytical paralysis in full swing
Poetry an apt medium
for language of protest

Bully me not today
With words, we travel to freedom castle
With hunger, we fro back into fiefdom cabin
Bold and grave, brave and spot on
Fighting with the tongue and pen
Shall our tongues be mute
when deeds are wrought
Yet our minds far away
From the battle field
