A Momentous Gift
Five young goats are playing in the field. All of them are friends. Everyday they play together, eating the same type of grass in the field. One day, a new lone young goat came to the field, grazing on the grasses where all five friends are usually nibbling. The new kid was spotted and all five goats approached the lone kid. The lone kid was bullied and left the field injured. After a few days, the lone kid went to the same field and ate some grasses. It was seen again and driven away by the same herd. The lone kid went to the other side of the field where there are more greener grasses. Bigger goats arrived on the spot and the kid evaded the flock. One night, a fairy appeared before the lone kid. The fairy said, "I am the fairy godmother of all animals here in the field. I will grant you a gift of your choice!..." The kid was astonished and said, "My breed does not grow as big as the others. Can you help me protect myself so I can defend myself?" The fairy disappeared after hearing it. The kid waited many hours for the fairy to come back until it fell asleep. Early morning, the lone kid noticed that his head is heavier than usual as if it's carrying something on its head. The kid went to the field to eat some grasses. Bigger goats saw the lone kid and were in disbelief because they saw something strange about the kid. The flock gave way to the kid. The kid is surprised because the flock distanced from him and make way wherever he walks. Days later, the lone kid went to the same field where the five goats used to play. The herd bullied him and consequently, all five goats were hurt. That same night, the fairy appeared to the lone kid saying, "I will not punish you for what you did today. I came back to remind you of your gift." "I didn't mean to hurt anyone," said the lone kid. The fairy said, "You will keep your gift to defend yourself whenever it is needed, but I need to bend them." "Why?" the lone kid asked. "I will bend your horns as a sign of humility. Everybody will see your horns as a reminder too." The fairy vanished after a few seconds.
