Premium Member My Jollies

Think my jollies are starting to return
Told you they wouldn't stay away long
Not those kind of jollies, naughty people
Thought you might get me wrong

You people, you really should be ashamed
What kind of dude d'ya think I am
I'm quite respectable and live a clean life
But in reality it's all just a scam

At times I'll be hanging from the rafters
Overcome by these jollies I enjoy
Dribbling and drooling to beat the band
Talk about jollies, ooooh boy!

Must be careful at this extreme old age
Not as agile as I once used to be
So if you hear a bulletin on the news
Man falls from rafters it's me!

The police continued their investigation and were
extremely puzzled. They couldn't figure out how
those small footprints found by the window be
possibly responsible for the disappearance of an eight
year old, Ann Marie Burr.
Sadly the case was not solved. Ann Marie Burr's
parents suffered through many years of not knowing
what happened to their precious daughter. The years
went by and there was no news of their missing
child.
Fourteen years had gone by. Mrs Burr was
watching a news bulletin from her local news station.
She heard of a mans name that was linked to several
murders. The name kept ringing in her mind over
and over again. Finally she called her girlfriend and
asked her if she had ever heard this familiar name.
Her girlfriend told her thinking for a minute, no I honestly,
don't remember this name. Beverly thanked her and
hung up.
Several hours later Beverly's phone rings, her friend
excitedly tells her yes, now I remember that name!
That was the paperboy. I am absolutely sure It was the
neighborhood paperboy. TED BUNDY!!!

Serial killer Ted Bundy lived several blocks from the
kidnapped child. The small footprints were for a small
boy that were found outside the window. They say it
was Ted Bundy's first murder. He was fourteen years
old when he committed it. Her body was never found
and her parents died not knowing where their daughter
was. Mrs Burr wrote a letter to Bundy asking for
closure, to please tell her where her daughter was. Bundy
never did. He was linked to 36 murders but a detective
that interviewed him said he had told him he was
responsible for over 100 murders. He was eventually
put to death.

Orson Welles did an adaptation of "The War of the Worlds"
book written by HG Wells, on Halloween Night Oct 30,1938.
It aired over the Columbia Broadcasting System radio network.
Directed by actor and future filmmaker Orson Wells. It was an
American radio drama through the Mercury Theatre on the Air.
It was a news bulletin for the first 40 minutes suggesting an
Alien Invasion, by Martians. Causing real mass panic through
out some areas that people were listening. The listening audience
thought it was real, when it was not.

A farmer and his wife listening to the Broadcast.

"All my God Phyllis grab the shotgun
and make sure it's loaded!"
"The Martians, the Star People, their
craft has crashed and exploded!!"

"I think I saw one out there in the
dark!!"
"For heaven sake Carl, lets hurry
 and get in the car!!"

"I'm not going out there forget the
car!!"
"They have Ray guns hon, we
wouldn't make it so far!!"

"I'm so scared Carl you think they
will hurt us!?"
     "I don't know Phyllis, it's in God
we trust."
" I heard noises coming from the
roof!"
"Oh my God Carl, what are you
going to do?"

"If I see one I am shooting to kill!"
"Stay here Phyllis and sit still!"

"Your going to leave me here by
myself, no Carl stay inside!?"
"I have to go and shoot that alien
Phyllis, right between the eyes!!"

Carl ran out the door and much to
to his surprise.
Up on the roof there was a Raccoon,
with big eyes.

Carl now realized what he had
seen.
Embarrassed to tell his wife Phyllis,
he smiles, still scared, but with a grin.

Just then over the Radio Phyllis
hears.
"This is not a real event, were sorry for
bringing so much fear."

      Phyllis grabbed the radio after
hearing the news.
In front of Carl she smashed the
Radio in two!!!!

Premium Member Here I Sit With a Pasted Smile

Do you want me to play music?
This is a teacher who obviously does not write much.
I was giving them silent thinking time
for the thinking-writing activity I had assigned to them.
I am horrified, but it is her room.
I am the interloper, and she has already asked.
They have said ‘yes’.
Funeral dirge comes out of her computer.
I want to gloat; the kids look up, horrified.
I am here fifteen more minutes
in the bowels of hell with this woman.
Who is insistent on everything a particular way.
Perhaps that is why she has spent a year putting up no bulletin boards?
Only borders. I would rather be wearing an orange jumpsuit,
running from the cops.
But here I sit with my pasted smile
For twelve minutes.
Glad I am not one of these fourth graders stuck here all day.

Premium Member Redhead Smart Mouth

We are in an interagency meeting.
I had been reluctant to attend.
energetic Redhead Smart Mouth took over our table
Sat next to me
Reached for the communal project each time
Insisted on doing group project entirely on her own
Refused all suggestions

I gave up right away
Choosing to entertain myself in other ways
We are all teachers at this table
Others refused to relinquish their power
Best meeting ever
I was able to play the entire seven hours
Loving how quickly she riled the rest of them

In seven hours I wrote twenty-two poems
Designed six bulletin boards, wrote a play
And designed two book covers
Now I look for for Redhead Smart Mouth at meetings

Life Layoff

I feel like I’m just floating through time like every moment exists on some line. déjà vu is just a tear in the thread that’s holding seconds collectively storing lifetimes from the beginning to the present. Like every single thing is accounted for on someone's bulletin board. Each tragedy, catastrophe, blessing, and new planet-finding, was all planned, and marked on a calendar in the office of the ruler of man. Aka the universe’s manager, God likely is his name. In charge of all the unplanned life layoffs constantly but he is always reassuring us to continue worshiping even if no immediate payment is received. In a beautiful building through a man of flesh and bone, he reassures us we have a place in his home when our timelines come to an end, on their own. Not by quitting, but working until life excuses you and your retirement from him is paid 10folds onto you, with a package of deliverance because you ran until the end of a line, that someone laid before you. Hoping and rooting for you, but knowing everything that is going to happen to you, all the sins that will tempt you, he still gave you the power of choice to choose what is the right thing to do during the line of time, he has lent to me and you.

A CONVERSATION

I rushed to attend the call “Hi! Who is there?”
“How are you going on My Dear!”
“In which respect do you expect
         my response? Let me hear.
         Regarding my health, you caress?
         Or my mental restlessness!
         Or about any
          domestic monotony?
         Or apprehending disturbances
          in my circumstances?
          Or disinterested totally!
           Call is mere a courtesy.”
         “Why do you enjoy just
to hurt me. I am introvert.
          You know, I can’t help
          to express myself.
          But you are aware
         of my passion, Dear.”
         “No. You are passive.
          Emotion may be massive,
but hidden in core of heart
          Dear, you are so inert!”
         “Since last week
          I could not speak.
          I am eager to listen
          about your weekly bulletin.”
“Cover story of my news letter
shows till you are not intimate
to me, you know that better.”

Premium Member 'Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and outside blew a gale
Ol' Santa had a brainwave and on his sleigh rigged a sail
He was preparing for what lay ahead, an arduous task
Then waved goodbye to Mrs Claus and put on a face mask.

First he delivered to the all the cities then town after town
But cross winds were now blowing that slowed the sleigh down
He then put down on the highway to dismantle the sail
And the flapping of the sail fabric tickled Rudolphs tail.

Rudolph thought it was Santa and started moving away
But Santa was on the roadside minus his sleigh
The air turned quite blue, ( I wont repeat what he said )
Santa's face was the colour, like his suit a bright red.

He took out his cell phone and dialed nine one one
And told the bemused operator what had gone on
"My head reindeer Rudolph has made off with my sleigh
That's loaded with kids presents for Christmas day".

An all points bulletin was sent out for the runaway sleigh
Santa prayed that the traffic cops would save the day
Cops in choppers were scrambled and to save at any cost
The magic of christmas, that looked like 'twould be lost.

By now Rudolph was getting tired and stopped for a rest
Then the cops in choppers landed, to make an arrest
Rudolph pleaded his innocence and said he didn't know
Then looked behind him and said " where the hell did he go?".

It was all a misunderstanding and everything turned out okay
Sleigh and Santa were reunited and went off on their way
He cracked his whip then from a bottle took a large sup
Told Rudolph to get a move on as the kids would soon be up.

He delivered all the presents and now house lights were coming on
Santa was full of praise for Rudolph, for the hard work that he'd done
He made for home going by the airfield with five crates of elf beer
As a thank you to the chopper cops and to bring them some cheer.

Meanwhile at home Mrs Claus was preparing the turkey
She knew that when Santa got home he'd be tired and hungry
Santa phoned her on his cell phone , she answered "yes dear"
He said "Merry Christmas Mrs Claus and a happy new year".
