Chubby little dimpled hand’s reach up to stroke my face
Happy cowboy booted boy, with hair all out of place
Broken nose, stepped on shoes, doggies left behind,
These are the things as I grow old, is running through my mind.
It only took a dollar to win a skip bow game
And if you lost the first one, we would play again
The homemade pizza and the pop would add to all the fun.
If you won $2.00 you’d be the lucky one.
How precious do those days now seem with all the children gone
Their children grown and have their own. Where do I now belong?
Tiny children calling grandma, I look around to see,
But they are calling my child, no longer calling me.
Life’s gone so fast, what do I do with the days that’s left ahead?
How many book’s can I read or how long stay in the bed.
The years have taken toll on me, and bones within me ache
Forgetfulness encamps my mind of the pills that I should take.
They call these the golden years, they say they’ll come a time,
When I will say I’ll take my rest and life will be a rhyme,
Of words I put together, to say how I do feel,
Forgotten, Laid aside for now, Hey what is the deal?
I once was young but now I’m old and I can only see,
The path that’s laid before me and I shall walk with thee.
Oh gates now open wide for me, do you see me coming in?
The brightness of your being Lord has made me to live again.
The ones I’ve loved are waiting, their hands stretched out to me.
Mother’s, father’s, cherished ones I see oh now I see.
Rejoicing, laughing, loving ones, oh wait I hear my name
Grandma, Grandma comes the cry,I turn to see the same
Loving girls hand in hand as they rush forth for me
sunlight shining in their hair, death had set them free.
I catch them up close to me and I finally get to say
I am so glad to be with you, you'll brighten up my day.
Let me tell you of your mother's that have missed you very much
Who would have given everything to feel your baby touch
How fast life goes and very soon they will come here too
To share with you the beauty and their joy of loving you.
But now I will remember…dimpled hands upon my face,
Cowboy booted little boy with hair all out of place.
I look back and I can see how lucky I have been
To have those precious moments, that I relive again.
So booted boy and dimpled hand’s, so fair, so fair of face.
I put you back within my heart, till I have run the race.
My love for you is wider than Victoria Lake
And taller than the Empire State
Now, I could give you more than that
So surely you want me back
Is it a crime? Please tell me, if it’s a crime?
That I still want you
And I want you to want me, too
I wake up at night with you on my mind
Your soul passes through mine all the time
When I realize that you’re not in my life
Warm, salty tears flow from my eyes
My life feels pointless without you here
Every night I manage to shed a few tears
I’ve been in love with you for a whole seven years
But I’m “All Cried Out” over you
The thing is, you really have no kind of clue
Though, it’s not hard to see that you don’t really want to
In my world, only you
What would I do for your love?
No, no, no! The question is
What I would not do?
My friends wonder what is wrong with me
Cause I’m in a daze, from your love you see
I just had to let you know
Got a thing for you and I can’t let go
Reminiscing to “Have You Ever” by Brandy
I wonder what I gotta do to get you in my arms
What I gotta say to get to your heart
I wish you’d understand how I need you next to me
Trying to figure out why you don’t feel the same
Has got me losing sleep
I mean, I look in your eyes and lose myself
With you I always put my salt on the shelf
Cause I know that together we could be beautiful
But you’re not willing to let your feelings go
With each day, my love for you grows
But, you don’t care, I’m sure
You might just appreciate it in all but, I need more
Cause I wanna “Rock With You”
And maybe “Take It To The Top With You”
I just wanna love you, baby
Always thinking of you daily
When you come my way
You brighten each and everyday
With your sweet smile
You really are my everything
And you truly are my happiness
Something special I see in you
I can’t find in anyone else
You make my life complete
Because of you I can’t sleep
A special part of me
And only you hold that key
Though, I only want the best, it’s true
I can’t believe the things I’m willing to do for you
There’s no need to hold it back anymore
I find there’s nothing I won’t do for your love
“I Keep Holding On”
Cause the love I have for you runs so strong
SO PLEASE REMEMBER THIS FOR ME
When you think you can’t go nowhere
My front door, and love, will always be here
Or when life treats you unkind
Please feel free to drop by anytime

The train, halted under the shade of sacred hill
They flowed out, and, wandered here and there
holding big, small, colorful, old and new packs of belongings
To, find comfortable chests and knees
some carelessly slept on un-desiring places,
but many there stood still
to face the misty, white clouded sky beyond the ridge,
Perceived their feet had reached
the starting point of adventurous tramp
Men, women, young and old with little ones
crept forward Just like a bunchy row of ants
filled with amazement; some stood, and watched
the vivid green forest canopy and flowering ferns
swinging in the frosty breeze!!
The minds filled with compassion, harmony
and respect each other
By murmurous chanting, that oozed into their veins
in the morning twilight
Tenderness of beams brighten the white dresses
of devotees
Time passed slowly
And the far valley down, a string of people moving upwards
on the zigzagged narrow path
Surrounded by thick green vegetation which
being the habitat of bees, birds, butterflies and
variety of big and small animals
Oozy willows dropping pearl like cold water drops
But few of moving people put a glance
at the phenomenon!
What a peregrination, having a cool gust thrill
which each body and its soul begird
The strenuous walk will bring to a halt at the noble foot print
Some managed to reach the desired end
but some could not attain the will
they stopped hopelessly, stepped down
with forsaken aspiration
those who topped the hill, huddle together
engaged customary rituals,
The eco of the ringing bell spread over the chilled atmosphere
through hill tops, forest, and the moving folks
Excitement broke out
Devotees squeezed catch a glimpse of sunshine!
The sun appeared slowly with a trembling smile
through the glistening horizon
Sunshine! Miraculously radiated across the mountain range,
forest canopy and everything
open to tender beams of light
What a huge strength,
Noble hopes and wishes
fulfilled the pilgrimage!

(This poem is about pilgrims who climb the summit of breezy sacred mountain of Sripada, the holy mountain of Sri Lanka, where suppose to be emblematized the footprint of Lord Buddha. After worshiping the sacred footprints the devotees anxiously watch the panoramic maiden sun rise over the sacred mountain. The poem is vividly realized descriptions of nature.)
Life on the edge would certainly become a novel,
if I included all the chapters of my life’s journey
from that of an old soul, from pure consciousness
to egg and sperm colliding, to embryo, to fetus,
to that of a baby, a child, youth, a teenager,
a young adult, a middle aged man, this old man
who has walked the walk of the living and the dead
with ghostly shadows floating in night time forests
blanketed by sheets of blackness, permeated with flakes,
specks of light from distant planets, long lost stars,
forgotten lives, as the reflective moon, on high,
tries to shed light upon the nightly shadows,
brighten the edges of all the black clouds
that fill all the empty spaces above the tree tops.
Life on the edge – I have been tripping – have gotten up,
have fallen from grace, yet stands up to face adversity,
have been trapped, yet set myself free, been lost
yet have found my way back to myself.
Life on the edge – time reveals all, all the efforts,
all the accomplishments, all the failures, the defeats,
and all the losses become weightless in the light,
of an old man who sits alone, on his own locked up
in the cage of his own design, his own making
as nightmares continue to haunt - to the end of his journey.
Life on the edge – has been sharp, dull, keen without tears,
in spite of all that life, fate, karma, choice have lain upon
the experiences this old soul has suffered, endured, enjoyed
and yet the dreams of this child – before and after he became –
still linger on in the fading embers of his life’s journey
even if they are but ashes blown by cold cruel winds
putting out the raging fires that once lit up the skies
and wormed the heaven and the hearts of a few mortal women.
Life on the edge – of this plane, this dimension, this universe –
can it really be as we see it ?, is it karma ?, is it fate ?, is it design ?
Does history repeat itself ?, does it come back to haunt us ?,
in another time, in another place, in a different space.
Life on the edge – next time around – will be a prayer
to never, ever have to live on the edge again,
to know no more emotional pain, no poverty of heart, soul,
the stupidity and thoughtlessness of those in control,
those in the know, of the nature of this old man
who has shown – specks, flakes of light, light that has
burned so bright, has flickered, has long since taken flight.

Remember the innocent days of youth
Our smiles would brighten up the evening sky
When we believed in honesty and truth
And swore we were never going to die
Dancing happily across life's green fields
Feeling the sun's kiss upon our faces
When we didn't need protection or shields
And laughed about lacking social graces
When the world was ours to roam and explore
The give and take now an integral part
We had no clue of what would lay in store
Yet everyday was a thrilling new start
To see the world again through a child's eyes
Crystal clear without deception or guise
Ah yes many wonderful childhood days
All too soon they are lost forevermore
Remembered only in a passing haze
Washed away like sand on a distant shore
What is left behind is reality
As we seek and search for our place within
But with such diminished vitality
Uncomfortable now in our own skin
For like the four seasons changing our view
We don't recognize who we have become
So we try to go on and muddle through
And to our fears we try not to succumb
Yearning for those blissful days so long gone
When each new morn held rainbows in its dawn
Now life has settled into a routine
As we strive hard to try and forge ahead
Like a constantly rewinding still scene
On new ground now we barely ever tread
These middle years like slow mental climbers
Preparing us for when we do grow old
When we will be considered old-timers
And won't have to fit a desired mold
Through the aging returns freedom once more
As responsibility slips away
And we start to feel as we did before
Before our happy childhoods went astray
Oh the changing cycle, from birth to death
Filling each day with promise on its breath
Rising expectantly to greet each morn
Knowing that soon time will be ours no more
Our thoughts between earth and heaven are torn
As we battle through our internal war
For to leave all we have loved is so hard
Yet we yearn to see the world up above
From our time on earth, our souls are quite scarred
Needing to be touched once more by great love
In silent dreams we see the promised land
Peace now settling in our hearts and minds
As time slips through life's hourglass like sand
And our memory so slowly unwinds
We ride the chariot to take us home
In heaven our souls will now freely roam
Through layers of snow,
White blankets, the world
Peaceful and quiet, still as grief – abiding
I stay hidden, secreted in the darkness,
Buried beneath the dust, the mud, the earth
Where life awaits the springlike touch
From sunshine’s blessing, rich and glorious
Awakening the music of a heart’s mystery
Soothing, like stardust – so gentle,
Light covers my grave, so somber
Earnest and peaceful, I lay quietly, waiting
For the miracle of a moment when sunlight
Breathes its wisdom through my veins,
Inviting me to rise through the soil, the richest
Clay, trembling with compassion, caressing
Away the frost, cold, so unsympathetic – bitter
Like resentment who fills the heart with
Doubts, distant thunders, storms in skies so blue
They feel like beautiful guiding me through
The reckless rest where I’ve been dormant, forgotten
By the twinkling stars, the sunrise and sunset
Never aware that I was even there – alive,
Hidden by the winter freeze, with ease
But, now – as spring silences the silver flakes,
There, hesitating within the earth, my tender leaves
Begin to peek, peering up toward the sunshine
Graceful and lulling, like the glimmering glories
Discovered in the new buds, stirring, emerging – soundless
On a quest for the light, the rain sprinkling through
The night, erasing winter’s touch with a growing
Promise – the assurance of a thriving blossom, a bloom
Who develops just as the heart begins to beat
With eagerness for the beginnings of spring,
Growing – springing from the darkness, resurrected
Great joy comes from the knowing, the hope
That revives the spirit, the feelings
In those who see that I have made it, once again,
Through the silent nights and the snow blanketing
On a land, sleeping through the winter’s smile,
Waiting quietly for the proper time to rise
From the earth, - new birth of a bud, a gentle
Wish peeking out from the past, prompting the spirit
To listen to the whisper of God’s tender gift to us,
Those who know that, despite our deepest wishes –
In time, in season – there is birthed a splendor
In spring, that splendor – that pretty comes from me
The bulb who waits, patient, beneath the ground
Where there is the promise that, in time, there will come
A beautiful flower who will brighten hearts like the sound…
Laughing in the breeze – a flower, free to breath!

In my fervent heart,
You knew I treasured you
But you didn’t return those tender feelings
Just see the fumes arise from the consuming fire
Because my wicked desires wasted away into embers
I love you…I love you…These feelings are ever so new!
I LOVE YOU…I love you…These feelings are always true!
You knew I honestly adored you…oh yeah; I always did from the start
But you don’t consider those mild feelings—you wrecked those bits by bits
Ah! Now I’m crammed into the ascending fire, splintering me with the strokes of death
Because of my virtuous desires, I’m wasting away into the pit of corruption
I thought you were encompassed with my passionate kisses
But you wanted to chase after your callous blisses, now I’m faced with crises
I detest the thought of adoring you…but I have to admit—I love you!
I love you…I love you with all of my heart! Do you love me too?
I know the desires that I have constructed for you never occurred in your heart
I know in the bottom of my heart that you were only enticed by your sick pleasures
You’re dumping me into the raging fire and you’re a sneaky little liar
Because I ain’t lying like you do deceitfully to me—I’m in love and I can’t draw back my desire
You brought magnificence in my eyes, comforting angel
But I’m subsiding into the cavernous fire
Because I surrender to my legit desire
How could I free from the embrace that yanks on to me?
You brighten up my dreams and set me free from reality’s calamity
I love you…I love you…These feeling relieve me from the blue!
I LOVE YOU…I love you…I adore your every existence—do you get the clue?
You knew I kept this feeling inside for so long
Nevertheless, I feel that I belong
In your heart…In His heart…
In my heart…we’ll never depart!
You are my true endeavor
And I wanna win your heart forever!
You’ll always be loved because you’re above beautiful
But, you don’t believe this love will survive in this stranded palace
But I’ll attempt to win you with all of my might and I’ll defeat the malice
Our boundless love is like two fireflies floating in the midnight sky
But you disturbed our greetings and you didn’t even accept the feelings I felt for you
Why did you blow away our interweaved feelings of passion
And blew them away into the heartless fire?
My precious love, why did you diminish my eternal desire?
You knew I worshiped you
In my sensitive heart

We cry out for peace, equal rights, and justice.
In hopes that the leaders we chose will choose to choose us as we have chosen them.
That the ones we trust will trust that we trusted them enough to put our lives in their hands.
That they'll understand we are not the animals of the land but its people.
That we are the not the slaves tied to the chains and whip of the poverty that was used as a weapon by previous masters.
They should remember that we spoke with our votes,
that the change we wanted to see is embedded in the ones we chose with our hopes.
You should see that it was we, under the rain and the sun chanting your name.
That it was us on whose shoulders you stepped to climb the ladder of success you are today.
Believe that we loved you once and still love you today but there are issues to be discussed so let's discuss it today:
We need our roads to feed ourselves.
We need our lights to brighten our worlds,
Our education to break us from these chains that bind us,
Our security to secure and protect us.
The Power is ours by your words, ‘’Power to the People’’, which empowered our lives and we use it now.
By your words, we should not suffer but rather gain hope that we will rise,
so here we are at your door.
Pleading you do for us as we did for you not so long ago.
We have changed one leader in hopes the next would be better
’’Change for Hope’’, you told us.
‘’Change for Hope’’, we aspire to have.
Let not our hopes be in vain.
In these veins, we bleed the blood of our suffering and nationalism.
Our love for country and patriotism.
We will not result to hurt this land.
Though we are hurt,
nevermore will this land suffer at our hands.
These hands which bear the hard work of the people of this land.
These hands to which guns were given to hurt each other.
These hands in surrender we cried for the peace which is prevalent.
These hands with which to the polls we went and ballots were cast in your lead.
Let these hands not be idle.
Create for us the jobs to participate and not to spectate in our economy,
Mr. President this is our plea.
Do as you said to us you would.
With changed minds, we wait on you.
And hope our dreams of a better Liberia will come true.
‘’Change for hope’’, we have.
In hope, we the people cry.

The golden hour for rising has arrived, and there are violet roses in the sky,
So, I bid hello to you, my robust friend, as the vibrant, cerise birds float by.
The obsidian night, it was very long, and was filled with pleasant dreaming,
Like scenes from the heart of jade forests, where lush nature is screaming.
But the dark hours seem as ages past, since you have risen on the horizon,
Reflecting your glory in the limpid waters, as day slowly begins to brighten.
So nice to see you again, my old friend, peering in the doors and windows,
As beautiful songs from emerald trees, begin their daily, rapid crescendos.
Soon all the world will be colorful and glad, like skyward birthday balloons,
Drifting on backlit skies of somewhere, like the aromas of various blooms!
We've traveled a long way, you and I, and like orioles, we've gone together,
Screaming our joys at midday hour, as warmth blankets the divers weather.
You trail every individual, peach dawn to dusk, and from season to season,
Forever going in and out of our lives, silently, and without apparent reason.
My work as a seasonal park ranger, has kept me in the glitter of your gaze,
As gorgeous wildflowers pursue us all, down the myriad, natural pathways.
Living with my family and my cat, and having a happy life on Pretty Street,
We danced all through deep amber days, terribly soon to become obsolete.
And often enjoyed memorable outings, birthday parties, and get togethers,
Like the euphoria of your floral days, are inclined to following predecessors.
Days at the beach, days at the park, ballgames or fun backyard barbecues,
At the happiest of times, everyplace I look, the first thing that I see is you.
And in olden, golden days, when I played on and on, your warmth was felt,
Like the presence of bittersweet autumn rose, though unseen, lately smelt!
Sweet summer evenings, you gazed redly, to say your melancholy goodbye,
Like the redness that strangely appears, when you're trying hard not to cry.
Crickets in the lilac bush, butterflies in the grass, all smile to greet the sun,
And yellow days are started and soon done, in dreamlike, skyward visions!
Flowers titter in warm, fragrant meadows, and oceans shudder with delight,
People beam at your kind warmth, and robins sing once they see your light!
