Hello Nigerian youth!
How are doing?
I salute your courage
I salute your resolve
To take back your country
Bedeviled by evils of unimaginable proportion
That threaten and becloud your future
You are leaders of today
Making you believe otherwise
Tantamount to fraud
Say no to divide and rule tactics
A booby trap to keep you subjugated
Stand firm and say no to intimidation
Your strength is in your numbers
Your strength lies in your innovative spirit
Your strength lies in
Your youthfulness
Your strength lies in your resilience
Today is your day
Rise and take what belongs to you
Arm yourself with your PVCs
Vote wisely and repossess
What belongs to you
 It is now or never!

Premium Member Ode To My Better Half

How I knew one fine day
                 that you were the one?
          I searched inside myself, asking...

                "Is this indeed true love?
Do I feel the magic of her charms?"
Is her embrace as soft as velvet?"

                        I asked myself

"Do I feel vulnerable with her? Do I feel...
the squeeze of her hand whenever I hold it?
Is she but God's greatest gift to me?"

You are, my dearest. Your first touch
was a slice of heaven; a telling sign
you captured a piece of my soul..

                          I wondered...

"Does she reignite my smothered passions?
Does she give me a shoulder to lead on?
Am I lifted up when I fall like timber?"

                         I asked myself

"Does she break me free when
I find myself caught in the jaws
                 of life's booby-trap? Does she
show me the way out of dead ends?"

                 The answer to every question
was yes, my lovely Helen; that's how
I knew you were my soulmate,
                     the answer to my prayers

The education booby trap

Like veering on the highway, once learnt material creates an erudite maker yet while this holds true, the cessation of the wayward knowledge must also be acknowledged. One cannot rouse a dog prone and toss meat only to regret that the dog feasts instead, the callowness must be abrogated wherein one can avoid the booby trap where momentum from learning creates both an initial wave and a shockwave from that event, with which one would incur deleterious effects that are beyond the scope of the acquisitions and the assignments, like a comet delivering an impact instead of a showy sign in the midnight skies.

It's raining cats and dogs on a dark and stormy night -
with such a stroke of genius, a poet starts to write.
Inane clichés he's banging out to beat the band,
a booby trap as big as life to bite the poet's hand.

It opens up a can of worms to catch the early birds
but with no bird in hand he'll have to eat his words.
The tropes are fresh as daisies, with infinite supplies
of broken-hearted lovers, and rainbow butterflies.

Garbage in and garbage out, it's fun and games for all,
to sell you down the river and drive you up the wall.
For if it's true a pen is more mighty than a sword,
then we're as good as dead, for to death we will be bored.

Spouse Sets Obstacle Course Endangering My Life and Limb

While sidestepping impediments,
Achilles heel stricken with paralyzing zap
chronically inducing captain klutz
to bemoan and yap,
i.e. (think) booby trap
strategically laid down by the missus -

necessitating yours truly
to patschke with marauder map
in an to circumvent and handicap
becoming lame and crippled for life
essentially rendering me totally tubular
pathetic non-ambulatory chap.

Aforesaid dangerous tripping hazard,
the spouse I do calmly berate
causing me being waylaid
for very important date
and/or additionally hurrying

to forestall bowel movement,
viz urgent incommodious fate
mine impromptu tanglefoot (feet) dance step
doth ineluctably foment hate.

Ready to lash out courtesy sanity claws
meanwhile thee wife burst out with guffaws
me cursing Sir Isaac Newton's gravitational laws
one infuriated husband
our marital covenant, he swiftly redraws
subsequently divorce sputters
thru clenched jaws

underscoring how feigned wedded bliss
(actually shotgun marriage)
replete with many flaws
e'er since chance encounter

regarding future maternal cause
deux daughters we begat
packed their bags at tender age,
and left home without pause.

All these approximate
two score plus oddly even years
avoiding precarious hazardous risks wears
heavily reinforced steel tipped
crampon tricked out boots,
which rugged footwear eventually tears,
though they outlasted lifetime

predicted on advertisements and follow up
customer satisfaction questionnaires
as satisfied survivor traversing
harrowing riddled landscapes,
I feel adequately trained to join

most hardy (doubting thomas) mountaineers,
especially those with surname Reznick
livingsocial, snapchatting, and twittering in Switzerland
possibly linkedin with Harris heirs
this wordsmith conclusively blares.

I non-jokingly attest -
above recounted spectacle no humorous avail,
thereby true love moost prevail
when wife leaves mayhem and bedlam
nothing boot trail of destruction without fail
excellent preparation if/when
purblind poetic papa needs to learn Braille.

Battlefield Scence

The Battlefield was alive
Rows of soldiers on either side
Flutes and drums played behind me
My brother's stood beside me
The bright sun challenge my sight
Hearts racing ready to fight
Bayonet rests heavy on my arm
Waiting for the command to charge
Yesterday's battle scars
Irritate under my tabart
Whistle blower starts the race
Collision course at gruesome pace
Dodging arrows and spearheads
I fell over the fallen dead
Face down I have a choice to make
Continue the fight or make death fake
I took a deep breath and jumped up
Taking part in the punch up
When the Director shouted "cut, that's a wrap"
Tomorrow's scence is about a booby trap

He Choose To Grow Weak

Please make me understand
Why we do the things we do
If you are cheerful, you feel good
If you are sad you hurt all over (Proverb 17: 22)

How can we help you?

If we didn’t know how you feel
You suppress; you kept it all bottle inside
Somewhere you hide, and you cried,
Why didn’t you come inside from that dark lonely place?
Asking others for help isn’t a disgrace.

Life is like a bend tree, it only stand tall when
The winds calms down, however, it toss and turn
When the Wind becomes strong

Why did you come in from that dark lonely place?
Like a proud, tall tree, he snaps
Asking for help wasn’t a booby trap
Bearing it alone was a choice to grow weak.
Once again he was a toddler and a bit meek

He said. “Mommy I am a big boy now”
“I can do it all by myself. So he murdered
Innocent little kids…

How many skeletons rest below the shores?
all over the globe?
How many are there?

How many booby-trap holes remain in them?
War Zone meadows?
How many are there?

How many little paws slumber in
Africa's thickets?
How many are there?

How many veils are raised to mislead the entire world?
Have they made amends?
How many are there?

How many ember strands sail the
Winter winds from the north?
How many are there?

How many teardrops are still falling to the ground?
among all nations?
How many are there?

How many osmosis lessons does it take to prevent
The next beginning of the end?
How many are there?

How many talks and acts of kindness were there?
Before emotional pain can heal,
How many are there?

How often does the school's skeleton whistle?
Wind wraps each bone.
How many are there?

How many voices did they hear among the voices of life?
Comatose children were chain-ganged.
How many are there?

How many storks nest as towers fall during a war?
And towns have vanished?
How many are there?

How many deer lose their food when tanks move?
Overly lush meadows of tender new plants?
How many are there?
