Find a Big Bucket

It is ok to think small if you have a big bucket.
It is ok to think small if you know how to paint a big picture.
It is ok to think small if your horizons are expandable.
It is ok to think small if you can still see the moon.
It is ok to think small if you don't always work alone.
It is ok to think small if strong on multiplication.

It is ok to think big if you see value in small things.
It is ok to think big if you can look down as well as up.
It is ok to think big if you pay small due diligence.
It is ok to think big if your steps are sometimes small.
It is ok to think big if small details are part of your big picture.
It is ok to think big if you can work with fractions.

Thinking small does not a small mind make.
That is achieved by looking at only small screens.
Thinking big does not signal a white elephant.
That is achieved when a small piece of the puzzle is left out.

It is only when small and big learn to shake hands,
That mistakes fail to appear.

Premium Member In the Vice of the Big Picture

What is harder, the border, the pictures
or the brightness of light and dark pieces?
It is a mishmash, sordid assortment of
escapism, scrutinized under illumination.

Piece by piece, I fall to pieces, pick them up,
scatter them to my mind’s wind, hem and haw
over the nuances; why do I torture myself so?
In the vice of the big picture - resounding parks.

Two canvas frames, two boxes, tepid waters,
the need to complete, competing only with
me, myself and I. Now, I see everything in
tabs and blanks, even as I count sheep.

Even as I watch t.v., the pixels penetrate my eye,
portion into die-cuts. Dioxyribonucleic acid flesh -
are we pixelated…like paper doll cut-outs with
wardrobe and accessories, my own Barbie palace?

Soon, I will finish this 27 by 20 preoccupation.
With a stethoscope and head mirror, examine
each rectangle - 63 squares; my hope - not
one morsel is lost, pieces of my life complete.

The gentleman turned to me distraught;
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing,
“Had to park my wheels, can’t pay my bills.”

Another victim of a repeating pattern,
back to our old ways we learned nothing;
Imagine briefly if the drivers weren’t there;

Systematic financial slaughter
unable to keep their trucks moving;
Left in hock those holding a CDL license;

Sure the highways would be luxurious,
no slow down to get where you’re going;
Empty roads with markets left out of stock;

Traffic in the big city’s non existent;
Society has become weak and lies dying
as tractor trailers fill up salvage lots;

The big picture is a whole lot darker,
A slow crawl as the world’s stalling;
Humanity decimated by a truck famine.

Premium Member -Prioritise

Take stock of whats truly important
Open your heart and eyes
Don’t bicker and sweat the small
Just  take stock and prioritise

Injustice runs rife on our earth
Wars, loss, human cries
Despicable acts of cruelty
Just take stock and prioritise

Put your energy into what truly matters
Be compassionate, kind, wise
Focus on being positive
Just take stock and prioritise

In the big picture of life
Let go or ignore small differences that arise
Be the bigger and better person
Just take stock and prioritise

If one-upperence is that important to you
Take a good look at yourself here applies
Give our world, people in need your attention
Just take stock and prioritise!

Premium Member One Singular Issue Will Not Turn This Around

Whether you believe in gun laws or not,
Taking away guns is not going to change
The mentality of the deranged
Taking away trucks would not have stopped
The recent NYC attacker from harming people
On a bike path, as it happened

The frustration is brewing because,
There is not an easy fix such as this being portrayed
There are so many ‘other’ issues, not addressed
Such as a failing judicial system and corruption
Infiltration of the enemy, criminals ‘empowered’

Also, lack of help for those who need it
Division with Americans instead of uniting
Transformation continuously happening in America
It is a big picture and a very complex one

Until it is looked at fully, this will escalate
Yes, we are grieving, hurt, wanting positive change
However, the focus on one singular issue endlessly,
            --- Will not turn this around ---

Evening star
Blazing bright;
Light in the dark

~~~~~~~~~
Dizzy dreamtime
Falling over;
Sleepy smudges
~~~~~~~~~

Workday scents
Fast interlude;
Check-in buzz

~~~~~~~~~
Poison words
Killer sting;
Violent rampage
~~~~~~~~~

Farewell chime
No more time;
Fade away glitch

~~~~~~~~~
Walkway commotion
Fuss and furry;
Foolish banter
~~~~~~~~~

Mall excursion
Jungle laws revised;
Black Friday rush

~~~~~~~~~
Hurts hurl
Choice curls;
Exquisite menu
~~~~~~~~~

Family reunion
Big picture moments;
Alone together

~~~~~~~~~
Seize cheer
Soothe edgy nerves;
Tangled hurts
~~~~~~~~~

Assorted loves
Bright blossoms;
Floral arrangement

~~~~~~~~~
Words limping
Broken whole;
No much said
~~~~~~~~~

Moon glow sky
Blue aura tints:
Strange glimpse

~~~~~~~~~
Journey ends
Temple bells tint;
Thanksgiving pulse
~~~~~~~~~

We are all vulnerable

I hope you have someone to lean on when you're feeling vulnerable. Remember you're never alone. Your Angels are always there for you.

We are all vulnerable
By Michelle Morris
25/01/2025

We are all vulnerable
We experience it in different ways
We all have a cross to bear
Sometimes it's small, sometimes it is weighty

Don't feel like you have to hide it
Don't feel like you need to carry it alone
You'll be surprised how many are with you
There in the Darkness they call home

For when we look around us
Or focus on outward expressions
We completely miss the Big Picture
Misunderstanding smiles hiding Depression

Added to that is a big dose of Denial
Millions of people who pretend all is well
Moving through a fog of indifference
Trying not to feel the Truth of their Hell

Everyone deserves Love and Kindness
Everyone deserves Dignity and Respect
Everyone deserves Light and Hope
Everyone deserves Joy and Happiness

Yes, we are all vulnerable
That's why we stand together
Holding hands against the Storms of Life
Because each one of us deserves a friend forever

Someone to lean on and be a Light
Even when it feels so Dark
But even if you still feel alone
Remember God's Angels will light a Spark

For no one is truly alone
We have God's Angels by our side
Their Guidance and Blessings are eternal
For our Souls are infinite Love and Light

We are all vulnerable
And it is our Strength and Resilience that shows
When we continue to have Hope and Faith
Heaven rejoices as our Souls grow

On a Sweet Sunday Morning

on a sweet sunday morning when we both are off from work
we rise from our needed slumber to indulge in a big ole perk

we inhale, we exhale, and we thank God for this here Blessing
we stretch, we yawn, and we free ourselves from the usual stressing

we then immerse ourselves in our rituals and our routines
we smile at the scene of a sunny day and erase from our minds all blue things

now that we are older and wiser, we jump at chances like rabbits
we appreciate the little things in life more and put to rest our big picture habits

anticipation faces make for positive vibes and good times
which, in return, inspires a spotlight list of memories and a few poetic rhymes

Premium Member Great Divide

A great divide is here
Not, the Grand Canyon
Or our weather from East to West
Or even North to South
But, it is the divide amongst our people
It has grown wide enough in areas,
Too distant to reach in areas at times
With reasoning falling, between sides to the ground
It is a choice to be deaf to opposite opinions
When there can be pieces of truth to both sides
Twisting false accusations fly with the wind
Then, insults sadly become the normality
In order to understand, there must be attention to listen
In order to connect, one must believe in many points of view
Not only one in which everyone should follow
Because there are different pre-cursers to things
There is always a background that may not be known
It seems there also must be space to accept we may be wrong
Especially when facts are missing or left ignored
It is about a big picture that brings reason to both a great divide and resolution
This way, we can live together with our individuality,
So that we can complement one another in a positive way

Premium Member One step at a time

As clouds march behind the larger one ahead,
I think about one step at a time being easier instead
When dealing with life's big changing events,
it can lead to being tired, and also stressed
I find trying to do a piece at a time is helpful and best
Somehow it makes things easier to fall into place
A big picture all at once can be overwhelming to face
I finish a task, take a break and tell myself I'm getting there
There's a lot at stake, worth the focus, on one thing, not everywhere
It can become easier, than one would expect it to be
Because fearful anticipation blocks the ability to see
So I give it a try, it is working, each day at a time I face
Later I'll look back, at accomplishments from my destined place
