I believe good poetry,
Is easy on the mind.
Not hard to understand at all,
No hidden fruits to find.

No words so big you'd have to use,
A college dictionary,
To understand what I have writ,
Or ask some visionary,

To explain the meanings,
Hidden in the words.
To try to be too "artsy",
Would make me look absurd.

I talk about my life and loves,
My opinions I unfurl;
The things that lift my spirit,
And what makes me want to hurl.

I want my poems to be fun,
And interesting to read;
To be nourishing and wholesome,
The mind and spirit feed.

I want them to be easily read,
No confusing drivel.
My words are plainly spoken,
'Cause I've no time for riddles.

Premium Member A Picnic With Pablo Neruda

Four legs quiver
like clumsy cabrioles
striking smooth gray rivers
of zig-zag sidewalk barrios
in rhythm with happy shivers
syncopated on a muffled drum
as we talk and stroll

On our way
hand-in-hand
we persuade and pretend
this day away
taunting and cajoling to demand
laughing “hide and seeking”
chasing and skedaddling
poking and peeking
like cuddly pandas
or canoodling otters
splashing and clambering

We roll and meander
impetuously twiddling all the way
atop gregarious green promenades
we pause in slight delay
as we prattle and prance
as we dance to the Crickets singing
nodding to their fiddling
frolicking with all the jiggling

Serendipitous stalks
of snickering flowers pop
to dazzle and razzle our wits
we glide in stripes of candy bits
of rainbows bright

Purple painted paisley
fragrantly flairs in pairs
of scented lavender sweetness
among black-eyed daisies
dusting the woozy air
in a meadow’s billowing bloom
sunflowers sunbathe in costume

We giddily tarry
as we carry
a feast of fancies and treats
artsy bits of charmed delicacies
filled with a peck of upcoming kisses
enticing fantasies that wink

Snuggling shenanigans lead us astray
as we find our rootie-tootie hideaway
hugs as we shy away
from tomfoolery jesting
to lay down and swoon
looking up at the soon to be stars
lingering for the coming of the moon

Murmurs of Starlings
gaggle their harmonies
of chirps
in cheeks and broadened beaks
thrumming tiny melodies.

Swallows sweep and woo
fixated on this unabashed swain
through songbird strains
announcing a shrilling review
broadening in sweet refrains

“I love you…I love you”

Fingerpainting the Monet sky
puffy white cotton words appear
from clouds passing by
while tiny violins spin in the air
piccolos peep
pigeon-toed Doves coo and weep
their contentedness to appease
trailing off the pleasant breeze

I fall upon my knees

My words explode to strew
like a thousand storms set free

“I love you…I love you…I love you”

Premium Member Vegetable Garden Does Not Make Smiles For Me

Purple conical blooms lure bumblebee
Foxglove trumpet flowers scent that please
Vegetable garden doesn't make smiles for me

Weeping Willow with grace lures so artsy
Under which lies Butterfly Bush which tease
Purple conical blooms lure bumblebee

But in the vegetable garden foresee
Sweat, toil in heat but food that heals disease
Vegetable garden doesn't make smiles for me

On trellis adjacent pale pink rose see
Just a dewdrop, but not on Butterfly Bush with base
Purple Conical blooms that lure bumblebee

In the vegetable garden no Sweet Pea
More flowers for me and food plants decrease
Vegetable garden doesn't make smiles for me

All I see toil, sweat no trip to the sea
Please do not let the flower garden cease
Let purple conical blooms lure bumblebee
Vegetable garden doesn't make smiles for me

RUIN OF LISA

He cannot will himself to look away,
Though she is as small as a rose,

And pretty with thorns and all.
Having many suitors that stare.

Her smile shines so fair.
And her eyes dart back and forth,

Like the dust devil that follows him.
Her terracotta colors enamor all,

but he desires to steal her away,
to place her above his open flame,

so he might bore into her like the sun,
and have none that touch her behind

the reflective glass. Of wine he sips
her sweet sensational subtle lips.

As the seasons change his lovely Lisa
becomes whatever he fantasizes, artsy

with scarves and sunglasses, at the fall
and rise of the procurator’s temperature.

OK folks, there is something I need to share with all of you about yours truly, understand I have no problem with not sharing this in the past with anybody,
because I felt then and still do that I wasn't hiding anything from anybody.
ANONS hack into my Facebook page constantly.
This is their post, not mine, TheKidster, Billy.
Yes, I did write that write and this photo was created by me.
Along with writing I consider myself kinda, photo artsy crafty.
I shared this photo with ANONYMOUS with the hope that it might be,
a positive endorsement for all of these
very great people I would die for unhesitatingly,
at least the ones I've been fortunate to "meet."
I have never met any of them, be they he or she,
they or sometimes individually,
drop by now and then by hacking into my account just to say Hi to me.
These people do have the ability
to hack into all my friends lives and wipe you out completely,
but that isn't them, that's the way Big Brother wants them to be seen,
so I shared this with ANONYMOUS, not so anonymously,
To Show My Support For All Of Them,
for all their brave and great work we all so desperately need.
What is written on the bottom of the photo wasn't written by me.
ANONYMOUS wrote that and that is their way of saying to me,
"We appreciate your support, You Now Have An Ally, We Support You Too,
And No Government Agency Better Ever Screw With You,
Because Along With Our Government, We Will Be Watching You Too,
We Will Destroy The Lives Of Any And Every Individual Government Agent,
Who Dares To Screw With You.
This news is the most unusual, joyous feeling.
How can I ever possibly thank these great people I will never meet.
As you have now declared to me, I again declare to all of you:
ANONYMOUS, I Support Every Single Great One Of You,
oh, and I almost forgot, I Sincerely Thank All Of You Too.

Thank You ANONYMOUS

Premium Member Gifts From Emerald and Verde

An artsy faerie of Emerald green
with her dragon Verde can be seen,
deep in the woods by a stump of oak;
this pair were quite creative folks.

A faerie gifted with a talent for carving
though she earned not a single farthing;
she carved and carved for children you see
bunnies, flowers, birds and bees.

Verde would fly into their dreams at night
as they slept beneath bright moonlight;
he’d whisper deep into their ears,
stories to quell all of their fears.

Then softly, he crept to their beds
and lay a carving by their head;
with faerie magic it was imbued;
a gift of magic and wonders true.

A good luck charm for their protection
full of wisdom to give them direction;
for guidance from the elementals,
is that which comes right from the angels.

Pantoum One

Living your life without fear,
To feel better, light a candle.
Turning the corner to get here.
I will try to get a handle.

To feel better, ignite a candle,
There's much you can do to be soothed.
A mantle holds a triangle,
And a circle keeps you amused.

There's much you can do to be soothed.
Let your bright thoughts just fly away.
The clay has already been smoothed.
There's nothing wise you need to say.

Let your bright thoughts drift far away.
Turning the corner, you arrive here.
There's nothing new you need to say.
Now, living your life without fear.

Slanted-Style Pantoum Two

Brain waves create wild paradoxes,
And you've gotta do silent artsy detoxes!
Try progressive candle visions,
And color dispersing pyramids.

Squares hold rectangles and circles.
Triangles look good on the wall.
The bright visions see the nonverbal.
The organic lines display scrawls.

Triangles hang well on the wall.
Stars fit nicely into boxes.
Organic lines won't let them fall.
Brain waves create paradoxes!

Stars fit nicely into boxes.
Especially handmade wooden.
Ones made for silent detoxes.
Covered with soft golden cushions.

Especially, handmade wooden.
Bright visions that see the hurdles.
From them, I would eagerly run.
Squares hold rectangles, not sparkles!

[Chorus]

Brain waves create wild paradoxes,
And you've gotta do silent artsy detoxes!
Try progressive candle visions,
And color-dispersing pyramids.

[Instrumental]

Premium Member Artsy Fartsy

I'm sure you've heard the term “artsy fartsy”
It can apply to a person or a thing
Most times expressed in a derogatory manner
Definitely has a “nose in the air” ring

In my lifetime career as a graphic designer
You'd think I'd be one of those guys
But nay nay I say I'm not that way inclined
My pinky doesn't point to the sky

Masculine as a male dude could possibly be
Mr. Jockstrap through and through
Chow down raw meat and stand up to pee
Most times leave the seat up too

It's certainly not a comment on social issues
Some of my friends are artsy fartsy
But most of the time my wee pinky stays put
Except when I'm stirring my tea

I'm sure you've heard the term “artsy fartsy”
Many times expressed with distain
Relax everybody it's not meant to be hurtful
Not everyone travels the same lane

Punks like you alway get the pretty ones, treat them like whores and don't think people care about you or what you're going through, truth is it aint even worth it! Premium Member The Magic of Winter

“Snowflakes are winter’s butterflies.” – Unknown

Winter is not always bitter, lifeless and drab
Snow gleams as it blankets and caresses nature
Birds become a vibrant display in reds and blues
A Blue Jay squawks as a cardinal stands ground
Perched on shimmery branches and bird feeders
As their songs warm frigid air with joyous melodies
Trees sleep as their barren branches provide shelter
While ice shimmers in artsy patterns under sunlight
Squirrels busy at feeders, hoarding seeds and nuts
Winds blow snowfall as it cleanses the drab ground
Ducks heard quacking while perching on icy riverbeds
Nature becomes a magical display in winter
