Artsy Fartsy

I'm sure you've heard the term “artsy fartsy” It can apply to a person or a thing Most times expressed in a derogatory manner Definitely has a “nose in the air” ring In my lifetime career as a graphic designer You'd think I'd be one of those guys But nay nay I say I'm not that way inclined My pinky doesn't point to the sky Masculine as a male dude could possibly be Mr. Jockstrap through and through Chow down raw meat and stand up to pee Most times leave the seat up too It's certainly not a comment on social issues Some of my friends are artsy fartsy But most of the time my wee pinky stays put Except when I'm stirring my tea I'm sure you've heard the term “artsy fartsy” Many times expressed with distain Relax everybody it's not meant to be hurtful Not everyone travels the same lane © Jack Ellison 2013

Well, Jack, I must admit that what you call "Artsy fartsy" I always called "Hoity Toity"..... I can't remember where I got the Idea that Artsy Fartsy was some gastric disorder.... Regardless, this was a fun read. great work.... Jake

I would only wish I would have been called "artsy fartsy"! I have always been called a geek or nerd whenever I was growing up, never part of the artistic genre, but I would love to be included within it! I have always thought of myself being slightly artistic, whether or not everyone would agree with me! Thank you for enlightening me with this awesome write! I really enjoyed reading this delightful poem this afternoon! This is such a grand piece! Great Work!!

Wore a suit when I left school and started out as a teller in a bank for the first two years. Then entered the graphic arts field and haven't worn one since! Yee haw! (Except for weddings and funerals of course! LOL)

Artsy Fartsy... Always thought that had a ring to it. I was trying to do some art work for my Kitty Claus and discovered my work has declined with my tremors... Miss the days I did portraits and pencil sketches washed with a touch of water color.... The kids wqere surprised I could draw, but the effect of the tremors left me with no clean lines... I felt it looked more like a third graders work... I'll have to stick to writting... When one door closes another opens...
