You Pushed Me To My Breaking Point

Your attitude has got to go
My top is about to blow
Not liking what you will see
As the other side of me
Brings a fury large and wide
A tremor from deep inside
Will not stop and get more violent
There's no way to keep it silent
Once it builds up from the depth
Where it's been quietly kept
Until someone like you makes
Rude comments causing me to break
And the anger just explodes
Until all the heavy loads
That have been laying so dormant
Years of your abuse and torment
Are making me go insane
There is no one you should blame
When my sweetness turns to evil
Your the one who has to deal
With the monster you created
Every time you have inflated
My mind with your words of hate
Learning it is much too late
For your false apologies
And your lying I'm sorrys
That do not mean anything
As your words of meanness rings
Every day inside my mind
Allowing me never to find
Any forgiveness or care
So you better just beware
Not to cross me anymore
Or you will be on the floor
With my wrath keeping you down
And no kindness to be found

The One That Left Me Behind

You were the one that got away from my grasp angrily
You said your apologies, but face the music
I promised you and I would be truly free from captivity
You aren't replaceable...your tune is so therapeutic

You were the one that got away from my embrace
You said your goodbyes and left without a trace
I wiped my tears of grief and seek total relief
I am but a single fall leaf, floating in your reef

You took advantage of me and you still don't care
You're only playing the dumb game of truth and dare
Good feelings fade away the moment you walk away from my presence
These emotions are so intense that I must release them in a sense

Caught myself thinking of you all night and day
Shot myself in the head with dread and dismay
I find my lost soul in the river of tears
I've been frozen in my childish fears

Loneliness is the only thing that loves me back
Feelings of satisfaction is what I actually lack
The pressure of the world makes my lips quiver
It also makes my hopeless heart beat so much harder

You were the one that got away
I was the one that got away today
The gray of today makes me feel numb and quite depressed to be honest
I'm trying my best to spread my wings and soar in the misery-bound mist

I was pretending that you were the one that was found in my arms of love
I was thinking of a happily ever after, but that wouldn't be enough for me to build strength to fly up above
You were the one that got away from the room of doom
I am the one that assumed that you're gone because of me and my gloom

I've been searching all around for you
You just disappeared out of the blue
Are you really the one that got away?
Are you now shining bright like the day?

I'm a deep shade of black
You're the shade of green and blue
I'm really wanting you back
Who knew you'd be the one that got away without a clue

Where have you been?
Are you gone forever in the wilderness of shame? I can't describe how speechless and enraged I am - this is lame
Have you left again?
Are you the one that got away and placed the blame on me? You know, I don't want to played with like a game

Fireman Wolf Cry

Nothing but have I upon this most
of auspicious moment to give

My total unreserved apologies and
resignation

Unto who whatsoever anybody
tuning white noise out would
surely listen

But a steadfast random collection
of nondescript desperado proclamation

And utterances unlike anything
other than a still drunk barfly
would spit and stutter over a
sticky counter

Without expecting anything else
but this as a retort or curt reply
and shouted at response

No 1 care's anymore we've heard
it all a thousand times plus before

So much so you have what is
less than zero credit in the bank
or credibility left

Why on earth don't you do everyone
including yourself a favor

Take a break go away take a good
hard look at yourself

And try your level best to refresh
this tired old act you have long
hard flogged to death

You find yourself having been
blessed a miracle somehow
within occurred

Then may I on this most auspicious
of occasion

Make this declaration to Yee the
members of the congregation

Only time itself in time will tell

If this was all merely means of
paying lip-service

Using elongated complex intellectual
word's in order to disguise

The stealth and insuring lack of
substance your stay of execution
allows

And normal service resumes and
you appear before us once again

As if you had never even been
away at all

Just gave us all a welcome earned
rest

How To Rob a Bank

We went shopping
The misses and me
And afterwards we went
To our favourite café for a tea

The misses decided
She wanted to visit her brother Jim
She said “Since we in town,
“I have somefink to give to him”

So off we go to the bank
That’s where he works
His a no body
Just one of many clerks

We approach the counter
Me misses says “I wanna see Jim”
“Tell him it’s his sister”
“And I have somefink for ‘im”

“By the way, she says
“He should have a parcel for me”
The manager behind the counter said
“Jim is out to lunch you see”

“Well said me misses give him this
She pulled out a potato peeler
The manager’s eyes open
He seemed a bit of a Sheila

He quickly turned around
And gave me misses a parcel
But wouldn’t take the potato peeler
The stupid **** hole

Off we went back home
I slumped in the chair and watched some TV
Later the misses brought the parcel
And sat next to me

She open the bag
And all of a sudden a loud exploding sound
I thought me misses was killed
From the wet splatters all around

I looked at her
What a sight
Her face and arms were evenly coated orange
Which, boy, gave me an even bigger fright

I looked down in the bag
It was filled with money
Covered in a bright orange dye
My throat dried, this was not funny

Moments later a knock on the door
Me misses answers and voices say we arresting you for theft
You have orange dye on you
So we need to search the house, step to the left

I peep out, there,
A bloody police van
Me misses says you will do no such thing
This is fake tan

She reaches in her bag
Out come a bottle of orange fake tan
The police apologies
And off they go in their van

The CCTV tapes they probe
Blank
And arrest the manager
For an inside job

For a whole month
I stayed at home washing me orange spots
I managed to fade them
And got a sick note for chicken pox.

Strangest thought just entered my head
What if I critiqued my own poems
D'ya think I'd really be tough on myself
Or would you detect a slight bias tone

Using the criteria of accepted norms
I'd be down at the bottom, no bones
But for humorous verse and originality
Call me Oliver Wendell Holmes

First I followed time honoured patterns
Of poets that have gone on before
But that's not what makes a poet of note
Originality is what raises his score

So go ahead and break all the rules
That have been in place forever
Develop your style of creative writing
And be proud of your endeavour

Mother Earth

Mother Earth

We all share this green planet we call earth
We all have been here since our date of birth
We all are guests on this planet we call home
We all are given this gift we neglect to atone

She gives us the air we breathe to sustain all of life’s continuance
She gives us the sky above, shelter from abysmal space imminence
She gives us variances in all of her terrains, many places and wonders
She gives us stability beneath our feet to grow, explore and wander

We rape all of her resources and consume them at will
We have been doing this for years, and continue this still
We pollute all her air, her lakes, her rivers and her streams
We live at the precipice of disaster, yet do nothing it seems

I am in awe of her beauty, her resilience, her strength
I am aware of all the damage that we all inflict at length
I am consumed with the fear, all we love and cherish may come to an end
I am confused that we, her guests on this planet, are not a better friend

Ask yourself this question, what can I, just one person do to help, to save
Ask yourself, have I been one of many that have consumed the all she gave
Ask yourself, have I been a true friend to her lands, a true human being
Ask yourself, do I take personal responsibility for all I have been seeing

Mother Earth, my deepest apologies

Hand That Rocks the Cradle

when darkness falls
shadows serenade
upon moonlit walls
and my eyes close
as i bid farewell to day

sweet dreams
cannot come
when hand from grave
rocks you back
through life's storms

i was bound to the hand
that rocked the cradle
my ship in stormy seas

slapped on the face
yet not by waves
but tasted saltwater
just the same

chilled to bare bone
then swept away
by wind of warmth
apologies?
an aftermath of storms
an unexpected pause
until the next red tide
bore my name

chained fast
to this diligent life
i longed to break free
from this anchor
that weighed me down

i swam against the tide
yet i was rocked
knocked back
through life

though tides have since parted
and seas are more calm
the taste of saltwater
still lingers
its bitterness
in my mouth

my mind
in bondage
cries out in pain
as hand from grave
rocks the cradle again

Prioritize

it’s hard to prioritize peace
But to rid myself of this unwanted pain
Of this tiresome situation,
I have to prioritize me

it took way to long to realize I Was stuck
In a cycle of love, lies, regret then disgust
And acknowledgement was my first step
To realizing there was nothing left.
But apologies and forgiveness
Tho my forgiveness run out
For my eyes have now dried
For I am no longer able to shout

I am unable to shed tears so I will no longer try
I rid my self of all my insecurities, all my reasons to cry,
For my cup has run empty
And I simply can not bare, yesterdays pain
Because I simply do not care.

And it took many situations for my care to run out
Please Don’t fool yourself into thinking this was sudden
It took the tears from what I actually needed
And You let my tears fall for nothing

And for that you deserve less,
Less than you’ve given me
however, I wish you a lover who is willing, I wish you peace
I wish you the ability to correctly portray your feelings

I wish you the contentment that I feel now
I wish that you reach where I am without figuring out how
It feels to be in my shoes
For I don’t think you could exist as me
And for that I look at you, I cry for you with nothing but pity
Which once was anger but I’ve learned to overcome
and through this rugged convalescence
I prioritize me, I am Done
with tears, with lies with withholding the truth
for I now prioritize my peace, my pleasure, my heart… I will no longer prioritize you

Oh, don’t flatter me with presents from the Ghost of Christmas Past.
Tis the season for nostalgia, but those feelings never last.
It’s a gift-wrapped empty promise not worth tuppence on the street,
Or a ticket to the opera when you’ve nothing left to eat.

Oh, don’t weary me with visions from the Ghost of Christmas Gone.
It’s a fairy tale for paupers who’ll be just as poor come dawn.
I’ve no sympathy for indolence, nor ignorance and want.
If you’re looking for compassion, find another bank to haunt.

Oh, don’t bother me with worries from the Ghost of Christmas Done.
Send those children of the gutter to the workhouse, every one!
Put their noses to the grindstone in a more productive game;
Earning porridge making bootstraps for the barefoot and the lame.

Oh, don’t humbug me with pleadings from the Ghost of Christmas Lost.
Sir, the figures on my balance sheet won’t justify the cost.
So, our business is concluded and I’m free to wash my hands.
Tell the Sisters of St. Alban’s, the eviction notice stands!

My apologies

My apologies for making something so small into something so big
My apologies for hurting your ego because I don’t know how to deal with my own emotions
My apologies
I love you so much
You can push my buttons on cue
What else can I do?
I overreact and I push your buttons
I don’t want to but I love you
I believe in you
I might not show it in the exact way you want but I’m head over heels for you
I said the things I said
I did the things I did but make no mistake
You’re the only man I want in my bed
My apologies for loving you so hard
It’s all I know
I love hard or I don’t love at all
My apologies for my ways
I’ll take you on any day
I don’t care what anyone says
My apologies for hurting you
