'Any Time Game ?' Contest by carol Connell
by Wayne Wysocki
This silly poem was inspired by an episode of the Ozzie and Harriet TV show, where an entire classified ad for a new saxophone player for the band became the title for a song. I thought it might be fun to apply the long title idea to a poem.
Darling, I am sorry if it hurt you when I told you that we couldn't be together any more;
I never would have thought that any one could come between us, but it isn't like it used to be before.
Now I have found someone who needs me,
Like you needed me when we started;
It's not that I don't love you,
So let's still be friends, once we've parted,
And, Darling, I am sorry if it hurt you when I told you that we couldn't be together any more.
World without any light succumbed to rampant evil,
why do good things lay under the dreariest shadows?
Only the righteous ones
don't take to heart all the woes and the injustices
caused by cruel hearts:
thoughts are pointed arrows that can be lethal!
Not many love our immense universe
that is plagued with much violence,
missiles destroy cities, kill thousands:
kids become orphans mourning mothers!
World without any light, seek the superb brilliance
of a serene sunrise and admire its magnificence!
World without light, don't bear another darkness:
break away and find enlightenment in words!
Nations start wars to steal someone' else resources,
it's gain, it's vanity and these are belligerent demons
won't rest until they have stolen all stones and gold
to impoverish that country; soldiers must obey rules!
World without any light, escape from Hell now;
restore the lost faith, not the common belief!
Don't be controlled by doubt, spare useless grief;
be redeemed by grace, don't be a victim of sorrow!
Leaders are seldom peaceful, but often too vengeful;
watch Moses break up the Tablets and condemns the idolaters:
he could be me, who hates the despicable so shameless,
whipping the drunken, the fornicators and the laughing fools!
I wouldn't have loved anyone more than her,
and it is no secret that flowers make any mother smile,
when she takes them from two hands that care;
I honored you, mother with my thoughtfulness and pride.
Either in early adolescence or in late childhood:
did I see a single trace of profound sadness
while you gave me all those caresses and kisses
when I was asleep in my warm and tidy bed.
Beautiful and adorable mother, I was your gorgeous boy,
and in all honesty, you must have loved me a bit more
than the four girls who were lovable and obedient as I;
and in all fairness, they equally shared that incredible love.
Only your portrait can make that memory relive in your child;
I stare at it and suddenly light comes flashing at me:
the happiest and most radiant smile God ever created so lovingly...
to make those tender eyes forever live in this smile of mine.
Sweet and gentle mother, be that comforting angel who will embrace me
when uncertainty and sorrow will make me desperately mourn;
don't dry all these tears, but take them to the merciful Lord:
as my gift of infinite gratitude and immense love that I express so deeply.
Before I brought you crimson roses, the flowers that made any mother smile
to thank you for your sacrifice and devotion: did you see your son's pride?
Today I don't bring those roses, only yellow chrysanthemums to your grave:
to embellish this unadorned tombstone on which I will pray, weep and grieve.

Well, I wonder if this type of a poem would be a new type of poem, for example, DUET
- My Beautiful One, I've heard it said animals love you unconditionally,
- Yes, falling in love with me seems to come to them naturally,
- Well, how many of them are allowed in?
- None! Coz they all have committed a great sin
- One of the seven deadly sins?
- No, none of them committed one of those sins,
But at the very beginning,
they pretended to be pet animals
then there was a temptation to be cannibals
That’s why, for lovers who turn to be animals,
there’s a lifetime ban
especially for my biggest fan
- Oh, My God! Why? Why? Doesn’t my light flood into your heart?
- You have made a disappointing start
coz you thought I was a fresh apple tart
- Oh, no! Such a thought fills me with dread
- Also, with such a stupid thought your whole face should turn red
- Hmmmm. As far as I understand, your heart is already dead
- Well, in a sense, but I would suggest saying,
even if there are those who don’t know how to love,
not any suns in hearts set,
- C’mon! No one is completely without sin,
- True, but for me, le film d’animation est fin
At any moment, looking at the world, we don't notice the love that flows secretly,
Like an unseen river winding through the valley of our days,
Gentleness, a whisper of wind caressing the leaves,
Faith, a glimmer of a star illuminating the darkness of silence.
They are virtues, you might say, but they are more than words;
They are crumbs of eternity that revive us,
And we get lost in the snares of our senses, blinded by appearances,
Searching for the inner man, hidden in his depths.
Isn't it necessary to delve into the layers,
To know his small personality, his heart,
The soul that shines like a diamond in the night of our existence,
To discover those things that make him unique, priceless?
When we unravel these mysteries, we begin to understand him,
To love him, as we love a rare flower in the desert of life,
The small things give value to life and to man,
They are divine gifts, received from the unseen hand of the Creator.
It is as if you open an old, dusty book,
Each page bearing the marks of an untold story,
And in those stories, you find simple truths,
That weave into the fabric of our destiny.
Received as a gift from God,
These seemingly insignificant things
Are the golden threads that weave the tapestry of life,
And show us that, in every moment, looking at the world,
We can find love, gentleness, and faith hidden in the details.
As butterfly
I spread my wings
Float in blue sky
Like bird heart sings
Crisis fleeing
Bathing in sun
Never needing
Liquor or gun
As feral cat
Hunting for dinner
Found a fat rat
Supper winner
Am not wasteful
Bones sharpen teeth
I’m so graceful
Watch how I leap
Into the tree
That bends in wind
Creates shade leaves
Rustle amen
Weeping willow
Responds to life
All animals
Seek shelter nights
Like brown rabbit
Along with family
Hopping habit
From dog he flees
Who is a pet
With furry name
Gonna get wet
In light spring rain
Rain that feeds all
Flowers sway feast
They grow green tall
Feeding the bees
Who I disturb
Wearing perfume
My spoken word
Making them zoom
I flee from bees
Into the house
Not escaping
Sting and I shout
Nursing my stings
Was it my fault
Was only a dream
To take a walk
In the garden
Bird watch sun bathe
Bees don’t pardon
Maybe one day
I’ll be reborn
Creature with wings
With ego shorn
Happy living
As butterfly
I spread my wings
Float in blue sky
Living a dream
He’s a modern Harold Steptoe
With his reclamation machine
Very few planets on the Galaxy
On which he’s not already been.
He’s got every known Wormhole
Marked on his Galaxy Survey Map
And he proceeds always with caution
In case the bizzies have laid a trap.
He likes to arrive early morning
An hour or two before dawn
And if it’t not well tied down
In a blink of an eye it’s gone.
Atomised and miniaturised
And stored in a stasis cell
Until he finds the right market
Where he’s knows it will sell.
He’s a bit of a cultural joker
With his sophisticated tricks
His speciality these days being
Making unlikely civilisations mix.
Archaeologists and Architects
Ponder their theories witn great care
As to how the Temples of Angkor Watt
Had suddenly been built just there.
The Galactic Culture Police Force
Know exactly just who’s been.
It’s our Modern Harold Steptoe
And his reclamation machine.
For too many eons they’ve tried
With red and embarrassed faces
To explain to Planetary Wardens why
They suddenly have large empty spaces.
He’s a modern Harold Steptoe
With his reclamation machine
Very few planets on the Galaxy
On which he’s not already been.
The bizzies want him desperately
But he’s very seldom seen
And by the time they get there
It’s too late he’s already been.
To me, love is a much harsher feeling
than the others,
On the other hand,
How would we feel
if we looked back to see
how many times we fell in love
and our hearts were hurt,
also, how long it lasted
before we felt
a deep sense of disappointment
In some ways,
we all have a lot in common
even with butterflies and bees,
As we know, they are seen to land
on different flowers,
some on lilies
some on roses
some on tulips
some on daffodils
and so on
Now, please let me know
if there is one
who has ever seen
even a bee or a butterfly
stay on the chest of a flower
for ever,
If not,
then, tell me why not?
And from this point of view
is there any difference between
the hearts of our own
and those of the bees
and the butterflies,
I guess you'll say "absolutely not";
In fact,
What a heart wishes,
as long as it beats,
is a single thing,
just to love and to be loved
by a heart
that is believed to know
how to love,
The rest?
Unnecessary details
Sometime comes once in a while,
Anytime can come to anyone at any time.
All time is with you always,
Every time is what you have every time.
Sometime is your casual being
All time is our life time, life span.
If you feel you have time, then you will have all time for you.
And perceive you don’t have time, then you can have no time.
If you are conscientious every time, then your all time is always every time.
Everyone has the same time for the day, week, month and the year,
Everyone has the same time till your Last time
Life time does not go with your time calculus.
As your life time does not align with others’ time
It can be anytime for anyone to pass away any time.
All time is with the All Pervasive
Sometime is with you, the Human.
Anytime is for all-both you and for all, but not for Him.
He is the embodiment of Time, all Times.
He cognizes all the times and no time, and is time with no time, Zero time.
Anytime good time can come to you anytime.
Anytime does not come to you every time.
So that sometime you may make time for all time for you.
What do you prefer for you: Sometime, All time, Every time, Any time or no time?
You may say, “Any time is fine, but good time must come”
Good time can come for some sometime and at any time,
But not at every time and all time.
Manage your time so that you can be illusive to no time.
And have your real time in the current time.
We don’t talk about time present, time past and time future
For these times are the time we travel, lived, living and will live through.
All the three times are affected by the times we have been timing about.
Because Times, Sometime, All time, Every time and Any time can come within no time
And pale away with in no time
For we are moved, swayed away by Time through Time.
What time you would like to live at this current time?
