Premium Member The Day I Reach The Last Mile -Mixed

1
In wandering life’s ever-changing dynamic landscape,
the paved pathway across the undulating topography
meanders to the nebulous future in time taking turns,
I have to traverse following the footprints of destiny.

The sinking spent sun in the cauldron of my crimson sky
paints the time of the vibrant life passing slowly me by.
The dust-draped horizon spreads uncertainty shroud,
for the ambiguous obscurity conceals the blurred future.

In twilight hour the sky would create a collage of colors,
weave for me the panorama for the penultimate walk.
I’d stand at the signpost of the last mile of my journey,
and wonder what lies at the end of the ordained path.

Many streams I’d remember to have crossed in squall
with budding desires sheltered in heart lest they’d sink,
while the winged dreams drifted away chasing butterflies,
flittering through amorous air in the verdant vale of love.

I’d indifferently count the footsteps of the ultimate trek,
fated to reach the final destination of devouring darkness,
the sighing wind would convey the beginning of the end,
as I’d take the reluctant first step to walk the last mile.

Loneliness of Gray
                by Odin Roark

Could It Be…

The mirror by which we see ourselves
This captive freedom of art in all of us
This necessity to communicate
Desire to become
Is but destiny’s
Loneliness of Gray

For if
As in physics
The typical complementary colors
Blue and yellow
Red and green
Passion's mainstay
When mixed
Yield gray

Then why
When one’s being
Claims gray
Must disappointment ensue

When there is such empirical truth at hand
When there is no opposite for gray
As it is its own opposite
It’s own quintessential purity
Of emotion’s blend
why

Yes

Some would say
The artist’s mind lives unique perceptions
Available to all
Yet determined by most
As out of reach

Few
Accept this fourth dimension
Others reject
Where hands and feet
Colors and viewpoint
Change about
Inviting the dual organs
Nostrils
Ears
Eyes
To express like colors
Embracing opposites
Allowing vocal cords of multiple mode
To render art’s communication
Imagination’s reverse tongue
Creativity’s spoken proclivity
To forever accept extremities of the mind
As wonderment
As living

Ever notice

How simple the artists’ walk
It appears to be on whatever surface
Imagination might volunteer
Be it floor
Path
Greensward
Or bomb-rutted road
Where surfaces creatively experienced
Reveal a virtually abstract pressure-balancing of gravity
Requiring little of tactile distinctiveness
But merely an accommodation
Today’s levitational force
Accomplishing needed transfers of altitude

Where the climbing of stairs
But a walk up from lower levels of existence
To higher realms of selection

To the Artist
Passage from one scene to another
Needn’t be a factor
Rather trust in gliding
Where shadow and blurred focus
Claim one’s mingled curiosity
Into a chosen whole

Where much of vision
Voids transient objects
Ambiguous appearances like
Furniture
Or details of vegetation

Seeking instead

A diffuse lighting of every scene
Rendering the scheme of reversed colors and texture
Bright red grass
Yellow sky
A conundrum of black and gray cloud-forms
Down to the white tree-trunks
Green brick walls
Embracing
A Lovingly
Angelical grotesquerie

Such reveals one’s essence
One’s creation
One’s smile at chance
Depending on how
The mirror might be hanging

Premium Member Wondering Thoughts

I wonder if heuristic,
tentative thoughts,
and ambiguous,
nebulous feelings,
coalesce, sometimes
into resonant knowing

In a personal
powerful
illuminating way
resilient hope of sharing
this round living Earth
with robust wildness
leaking out in between
relentlessly speaking words,
autobiographical lessons
never native learned

Thereby opening a passion
for searching communioned sacred doors
toward further nuance,

Recreating what we have lived to know,
to timelessly
yet ambiguously appreciate,
celebrate in awe
of this wilderness
we have always known
but could not, before,
articulate alone.

Nature's living roundness
of healthy, robust Earth
grows never merely alone

Celebrating
yet challenging
peaceful and leisurely integrity,
lovely
perfect ease
of right felt
strong ecstatic left mindedness
under controlled

Like Mother
and newly freed newborn
struggling through wild co-attachment.

Like multicolored bands
of a bowed rainbow
assembling
and recomposing each miraculously unveiling other
in perfectly predictable progressive laws
of domesticated
conserving order,

Transculturing lucent symmetry
empowering sustained non-violent light
resplendently full of wilding
wondrous mystery

Remembered images
of fading
bewildering
wildly tentative thoughts,
and ambiguous,
nebulous feeling
wilderness, sometimes
recreative knowing
this from which
we derive
arrive
strive
more consciously alive.

Premium Member Remembering When

A common phrase in athletic circles,
Speaks to the value of a short memory.
Designed to move on from costly mistakes,
            While avoiding that painful slavery.

Regretfully, there's a side-effect,
    Causing repeated offenses taking place.
        Where the perpetual forgetfulness often
Resembles, the stupidity on every face.

This cycle shows a lack of learning,
    Allowing ignorance to blindly lead.
While skillful rhetoric veils the reality,
Giving shade to those in need.

The conflicts seldom clarify,
    Any memory that stood before.
As the past attempts to be re-written,
With a clouded history to ignore.

So powerful is this illusion,
Where what is seen is not believed.
        That the truth becomes ambiguous,
In the shadows of those deceived.

Yet optimism is still abundant,
Piercing through every now & then.
        As those afflicted eventually recall,
To a point where they remember when.

Luminous lucent mind
longingly mystique,
made of multi-facetted crystal
of gorgeous gem,
shines sublimely
with translucent thoughts,
glistened by soul-suffusing
sensuous rays,
emanating from
efflorescent fountain
of ebullient emotion
unrestrained.

Clear of cluttering cloud
of secret qualm,
diaphanous psyche
resolutely revolves
in ordained orbit,
shines as a star
in enlightened trajectory,
away from abyss
of ambiguous angst
unrelenting.

The meadow of mind,
clear of convoluted
shadows of confusion,
glows in the transit
of fleeting moments,
latticed with luster
of desiccating dew drops
of passion perception,
sparkling with sequins
of transient euphoria,
conveys with cadence
of evanescent radiance
the rational notion
undeniable....

everything has a time
to come and go.

Papa ...

Why build your walls so thick?
Did you fear the world would tumble in on you -
Find you as vulnerable and discomposed as the rest of us?
I think your TRUE battles - your wars - took place within

An Id so ambiguous and at odds with itself
That you drowned it in substance and sin and mortality
The edge of a knife too jagged for shrewd application
     Visceral impulse, your fine compass

Those paths and bearings felt the prow of your words
Perchance the movable feast was NOT Paris
But rather the light in you - Paris as you lived it, in the rain
You and she, shining, in tremulous unison

Tapping keys with the lethality of your favorite rifle
The point of your pen invasive as any needle, poisoned
Ravaged and gored by the demons of night
Yet passed untouched by the bulls of Pamplona

Your world was raw on the half-shell
You, with Tabasco and a paring knife
Beauty found in muddy fields and mustard gas
As deep and compelling as a Caribbean sunrise

More taken by the grainy texture of a pear on your palate
Than by all the gods of humankind
And THAT, that easy allure -
     That sublime simplicity ...

Is why ... I love you.

Will we ever grasp the absurdity
Of our vanity showing disrespect
For our planet’s wholesome diversity
With lessons barely learnt in retrospect

Audacity shamefully outrageous
Arrogance beyond wild insanity
With consequences least ambiguous
Undermining their brutal gravity

Should we not reinvest our planet’s love
Carefully fostering by any means
Earth’s lavish bounty and beauty above
Nurturing purity of blues and greens

Harmony with nature engenders art
Thus reflecting the color of my heart

Unconditional Paternal Love Toward Shana Punim

Screaming writhing violent
uncontrollable spasms of abandonment
immediately followed her (like Mary's lamb)
where e'er she went
verbal communication attempt didst rent
ear piercing outpouring

barrage heard clearly by vested gent,
a bajillion miles away e'en
stymying the likes of Lois Lane, Clark Kent
or special ABC letter writ agent,
when aforementioned younger daughter
raged day and night without abatement

soon after our baby's birth
agonizing distress self evident
when bundle of joy became a toddler,
which ordinary concomitent
expectant joyful milestones
hoop fully attendant

with hypothetical offspring
aurally learning oral rudiment
basis of language skill
with instructional accouterment
mastering native tongue
celebratory breakthru achievement

acquiring brisk command of lingua franca
easily excelling telly
tubby "FAKE" accent
gibberish with cogent
encoded development coaxed ability
regarding divine acknowledgement

pertaining to obvious delayed development,
when dada decried disabled
doc's "NON FAKE"
dupe forced mine abhorrent
realization upon crestfallen papa,
that our precious progeny

requisite remedial requirement
versed here, viz poetic abridgement
thee youngest of
(deux) daughters afflicted
at young age initial

general consensus genetic accident
engendered ambiguous diagnosis,
cuz forming words absent
purportedly linkedin with
high functioning autism
spurred self blame abutment,

sans cognitive fluke (most
likely inherited) malady immediate adherent
parental duty entailed, promoted
vouchsafed, et cetera
lifelong intervention convert,
a blessed webbed accompaniment

decades later nearly wrought total abolishment
whereat now grown year old lass
defied wildest predictions, adjustment
witnessed thee cherished apple of my eye
metamorphosed since early adolescent

to secure part time employment
attending Bend, Oregon Community College
and coordinating advancement,
where Shana Punim secured plane ticket
and took to friendly skies to my amazement!

They're smiling leniently don’t be silly
You can’t be apolitical these days
I’m smiling back I don’t trust them initially,
It doesn’t fall under a criminal offence
I’m fascinated by the incongruous lines
Just look at those familiar shapes, distorted
The early cubist paintings make them shine
Not blindingly, but just how you would want it
Ambiguous light of green and brown hues
Strict and fastidious lines, this is my politics
No one’s deprived, humiliated or abused
You’re in your favorite chair watching pics
It’s a spiritual job, not quite a passive leisure
Those pictures move in time can’t stay the same
They grow on you without any measure
Until your mind will get the best of frame
You hang out in the school of old escapers
The shooters cannot see us with their drone
Tomorrows ash deploy yesterdays papers
Don’t ask of yesterdays old girls – all gone.
