I once had a friend iron-willed and rigid
she was uncompromising and stern
everything carved in stone
she was single-minded mulish
unyielding- unwavering in all things
I am an easy-going girl . . .
my hair a flowing river streaming- tranquil
oh yes, quite laid-back and calm, almost lackadaisical
but not weak or meek, or fragile
she never imagined my strength hidden . . .
I accepted her unbending ways (for a time)
her words- weapons trying to leave scars
never do I recall a person so determined and tough
so full of turmoil and self-hate
most of the time I tolerated her
but the wheel of time rolled and rolled
until I got sick of surrendering- I got sick of her
so, in the most delicate way
gracefully, kind and casual
and to her shock- I said
I have had quite enough of you . . .

Poem in the Fragmented Form Created by Poetess: Constance la France
The good work is done by people with jagged, broken edges because those edges cut things and leave an imprint, a design. By Harry Crews

Love's blades tear within as a dull scalpel with teeth
Leaving merely a crushed, dead chunk of flesh
It shreds, gouges, and weeps till the heart bequeaths
Offering its heart gambles will be accepted fresh,
Being hugged frowns as it gulps the vile reality
The dagger sinks further, piercing the frailty of sanity
A heart still bleeds while succumbing to sociality
Pathetic, petrous parcel with pebbly peaks
Jagged-toothed dome rising into bespeaks,
Each is engraved, erose, and has surface breaks.
Swallowed by a murky quagmire of an abyss beneath,
Snapping at heels all life, laden with vessel mensch,
Unfathomable evil clings to grief and jagged vitality
Vow to thrive with every word your soul speaks.
Inside the box..
I don't hear you..
I choose not to hear you
A great big heavy blanket
It covers entirely everything..
You allow your truth
I cover my entire being..
Underneath the heavy blanket
Your truth is meaningless to me
Your truth is unacceptable..
Your truth is literally unbelievable to me.
Your truth cannot be explained
Contains mystery and curiosity
Curiosity kills the cat..
Does not kill the cat..
I shall cover myself underneath the cozy blanket..
Go into a sleepy slumber..
Please do not awaken me..
Outside the box..
I hear you..
I choose to hear you
I need not smother myself
I allow your truth
My entire being is exposed and revealed
I need not cover the truth
Your truth is meaningful..
As I have accepted your truth..
I understand and believe in you..
You need not explain your truth to me
I have faith in you
The unknown will cause curiosity
I have embraced your truth
Allow new growth..
To create..
I shall be awake..
In my awakened state
I shall deliver..
Deliverance to all the masses..
Remembrance of a divine being you truly are..
In the middle of Asgard, where the Gods and Goddesses live, is Yggdrasil by name, the tree of life is its fame. The eternal green Ash tree, the branches stretching out over all the nine worlds. Yggdrasil is carried by three enormous roots. Next to the first root is a well named Urd's well, where the Gods have their daily meetings. Next to the second root is Mimir's well, and the third root close to the well Hvergelmir. It is here the dragon Nidhug is chewing on one of Yggdrasil's roots. Nidhug is also known to suck the blood out of the dead bodies, that arrive at Hel. At the very top of Yggdrasil lives a giant unnamed eagle, the eagle and the dragon are bitter enemies, they truly despise each other. There is a squirrel named Ratatosk, who spends his time running up and down the Ash tree, doing what he can to keep the hatred alive between the two. "Urd" means "destiny". The generally accepted meaning of Old Norse Yggdrasill is "Odin's horse", drasill means "horse" and Ygg is one of Odin's many names. There are four stags that feast of the foliage of the Ash tree also.
In the Poetic Edda, the tree is mentioned in three poems. In the Voluspa, stanza 19, the Volva says: (Volva, a shamanic seeress)
An ash I know there stands,
Yggdrasill is its name,
a tall tree, showered
with shining loam.
From there comes the dews
that drop in the valleys.
It stands forever green over
Urd's well.
When Odin hanged, speared, for nine days on the World Tree, he uttered the words that he had 'sacrificed himself onto himself'.
In Norse mythology, the Norns are three female divine beings who have more influence over the course of destiny than any other beings in the cosmos. They dwell within the Well of Urd.
You talk behind your neighbor's back,
And say things most unkind.
It seems someone who won't do that,
These days is hard to find.
You re-tell things you promised not,
To let any others know;
But if you think it'll serve you well,
You'll tell all that you know.
You bite the hand reached out to you,
In friendship and in trust,
To be accepted by the ones,
You know to be unjust.
The ones who wield the power,
Can be used just like a tool;
For it's well known that in this world,
We bow to majority rule.
So what if you've betrayed a friend?
So what if you have hurt them?
So what if you have caused them harm,
By saying things about them?
You must look out for number one.
Yourself is first and foremost.
It matters not you've hurt a friend,
Because you're self engrossed.
You'll find a way to make the grade,
And be one of the crowd.
If you must step on a bug or two,
The pop won't be too loud.
But your new friends will step on you,
If they find that it serves them.
What goes around will come around,
And sin begets more sin.
Eventually it all comes back.
What you sow you reap.
Friends like you I just don't need.
For you I'll lose no sleep.

I have no regrets on once being here.
An accepted passion on doing what I did.
I feel good about being in my own skin.
Proud of what I’ve done and where I’ve been.
I did God’s will by spreading His seed.
A boy from Compton grew up to be me.
And, there’s not a moment I would take back.
For being what I am. Strong, willing, and black.
Make a difference in this world, if only for yourself.
Don't spend a second trying to be someone else.
Hold true to your values and try to do good.
Leave a footprint in every place you ever stood.
Some dogs call them master, but I always called mine ‘Dad”
I haven’t seen him in so long, perhaps I drove him mad
For when that car bumped into him and knocked him off his feet
Some people took my dad and left me standing in the street
I never saw him after that… was everything my fault
Did he wash his hands of me, I cannot bear that thought
They put me in a place with other dogs locked up in cages
I barked a lot at first but I was there for simply ages
It took a while but I accepted Dad had let me go
I guess I wasn’t up to scratch although I’ll never know
Then, one day a couple said, “We can’t leave him behind.”
And they were nice; alas, they weren’t the dad I hoped I’d find
I never would deny the gift of this my newfound home
Without my lovely humans I’d be caged or left to roam
I’ve never been ungrateful for the love they’ve shared with me
Yet every single time we walked, my dad I hoped to see
But that was many years ago and we’ve had fun and hugs
They even have my picture printed on their coffee mugs
These days our walks are shorter and although they’re still quite fun
My aging bones make walkies slow; I certainly can’t run
I sometimes see my people looking at me like they’re sad
I’m glad we’ve been there for each other… but I miss my dad
It’s strange that since I woke I seem to have new strength today
But now I see that other ’me’ which means I’m on my way
Before I was adopted Ron Rottweiler told me that -
When your time is done you’ll see yourself still on your mat
Your humans will be sad because you had to go away.
I always hoped I’d see my dad again before that day
In this new state I know much more than I had known before
I know that there’s a bridge to cross but I want something more
Before I cross to what comes next and set my spirit free
I want to find my dad so he’s the final thing I see
I know now where I lived and it’s a long, long way to go
But wait, I see my favourite toy and hear a voice I know…
I turn to see the rainbow bridge and yonder rainbow light
A figure stands in silhouette and yet an awesome sight
The figure walks towards me in its own familiar way
It reaches out its hand to me and then I hear ‘him’ say,
“I’ve waited all these seven years - the angels think me mad -
We’ll cross that bridge together for I’ve always been your dad.”
Inspired by the Iron Maiden Song, Tears of a Clown
Drinking, he recalled the Circus Grim,
and the strange world that ruined him.
He had done anything for a laugh.
Once, the magician sawed him in half.
He'd traveled the whole country round.
Now tears fall from the circus clown.
An orphan child, running from disaster,
fell into the service of a cruel ringmaster.
At first, he was never seen on stage,
laboring to clean a hungry lion's cage.
In dreams, he wore a jewelled crown,
and he rose to fame and renown.
The juggler, fire-eater and contortionist,
joked with him and the beauty he loved best.
It was then, a drunken challenge, he made,
and, to his surprise she accepted, unafraid.
She caught his eye as she came down,
a moment frozen for a circus clown.
His secret love, he thought, flew like a dove,
enchanting him, like an angel above.
No matter how he tries, he won't forget,
the trapeze girl who missed the net.
He'll swill whisky until he drowns
in tears, the broken-hearted circus clown.
To help us stand
Higher than before
God love saw more
Precious are their hearts
We are never apart
Felt from inside
Where hope and love resides
See what was kept for thee
God love has set us free
Thank you my Lord
Moving us forward
Your glory kept Divine
It allowed Jesus to shine
We have shared
What our Lord declared
Never shall ignore
What we felt was more
You embraced Mary doves
Offered by her love
Holy to Holy
God holds our Glory
To honor our Messiah
Hosanna, Hosanna
Jesus kept no enemy
Show his people mercy
Always ready to forgive
Our Lord said live
Accepted what is old is now new
Our faith is in you
