August! Most days uphold the Leo Sign-

Urge those then born- to follow Lion's line.

Grand confidence and steadfastness are prone-

Unless the sting of arrogance is shown-

Sensed not accepting critics and their slights;

The August Lions share mixed-bag delights.

Mismanagement

Mismanagement

Cut the staff
Expect more done
Never say thank you
To anyone
Take the credit
Pass the blame
Things go wrong
Its what’s his name
Initiative
This must be banned
Make staff juggle
Then tie their hands
Ignore concerns
From everyone
An overlooked problem
Is a problem gone
Grab your bonus
The lions share
Tell the workers
There’s nothing spare
Set out targets
Impossible to reach
While quoting the nonsense
Of the team spirit speech
Show ingratitude
Be unclear
Then cut more staff
In the coming year

Lungs of the Earth

You spoil the air by burning fossil fuel
By absorbing odors, trees help to level

You inhale fresh air
To this, trees provide a lions’ share

You exhale exhaust of the body
Which the trees take into custody

Trees inhale the pollutant
And exhale oxygen that you want

Every life lives with the breath
Mother Earth also follows this path

Human lungs that do this are worth
Trees do this, as lungs of the Earth!

The Lions' Share

The Copenhagen Zoo did such
An awful, stupid thing,
They should have been prepared
For all the fury it would bring.

They killed a two year old giraffe,
One Marius by name,
And fed him to the lions,
Adding fire to the flame.

They had enough giraffes and so
A “surplus” wasn’t needed.
Despite the pleas of zoos and people,
Boldly, they proceeded.

Poor Marius was sacrificed
And made into a meal,
A horrible decision,
Idiotic and surreal.

No Regrets, No Fears,

Johnnie lad ye've been me friend for more than fifty years,
Ye propped me up when I'd have fallen flat upon me face.
Ye never laughed at what I said or at me foolish fears,
And suffered through me tempers with happy smiling grace.

When I were but a laddie, Da taught me how to be a man,
And Mama taught me about Church and that 'tis a sin to lie.
But John ye taught me how to be the best man that I can,
And that theres worse things that a man can do than cry.

But its angel wings i'm hearin' now, a flutterin' up there,
I think I'm heaven bound and pray that I am right.
If I am ye know theres credit due and yours the lions share,
For I'm fair certain that I'll be checkin' out tonight.

So take me hand old comrade, and let me take yours in love,
And let me tell ye that no man has ever had a better friend.
I'll be savin' ye a place right next to me in heaven up above,
Grieve not for me laddie buck, for death is not the end.

The Rubiyat of Satanic Prophecies

To hell harbinger, niggling winsome words,
has grasped the devil's share, for menhir size
Has pencilled in his own and crossing swords-
It errant's change which seeks the high rewards.

As such they'd yammer the athiest priest
Prepare to skewer faith that's what we've done
With raffish grin, the template from the East,
Has built ferocious men to form this Beast.

Defy, that would no penitence be claimed,
To bask in carmine etchings, someone's blood
Somewhere, where an idle worth is blamed,
Adapts these xeric rituals therefore tamed.

To vilify each state, the wordsmiths curse,
Has first to reach the west, a destination
Jitter free from consort, ends his verse
While kohl can camouflage as matters worse.

Before the tinsel shrinks the bask shall glow,
A zephyr hailed along, with fan to blaze
Contained as one explorer, which we know-
Oblivion, auras mentor steals the show.

The umbra can indeed produce some shade
While gullet quenches low, as food shall be,
Where evil grows the size that man has made
He brings the lions share for masquerade.
