A Child Of Light

In a land so far away on a dark
And balmy night,
The world lay peacefully knowing
All was calm and right.
But then at once there was a stir, far above in the sky
And in the indigo sky a star appeared
It filled above them with streaming
Beams across the sky .
It was the story the prophecy
It was the sign they all were told
This sign of a star brightly shinning in the sky
It was the promise foretold for you and me
And so they followed that light ,
and there it stood above a simple stable
It's rays of light beaming down for all to see
Slowly they ventured in to see the beams of ight steaming down on a mange
Where the infant child slept peacefully

Premium MemberThe Cut-Out-And-Keep Guide To Trees

the silver birch
it likes to hide
so as you search
at eventide
you find it there with many friends
playing poker through the night

the common oak
a wise old man
an aging folk
since time began
grandfathers of the forest they
speak myth and folklore when they can

the sycamore
with helicopter seeds
sets out its store
among the weeds
then grows to be big and strong
from people’s picnics on which it feeds

the horse chestnut
is the conker tree
the children’s favourite
but too spikey
until they are ready later on
and why kids were late home for tea

the yew
is old
and grew
so slow
its age is in millennia
and battles from the archer’s bow

the hawthorn
its blossom white
and at dawn
as if it snowed all night
then all too soon the white has gone
a desperate case of bad stage fright

the conifer
fir, spruce and pine
a regular
likes mead and wine
to keep it warm in winter then
comes into homes at Christmas time

O’er gentle sunrise, tender peace abides
Light risks striking shadows of darkest night
Moon and stars flow, cling to the sky as guides

Glowing on wings, beyond the clouds of white
Birds and angels sing as the silence cries
Light risks striking shadows of darkest night

His still voice from heaven stirs hearts so wise
For those who know His beauty lives in love
Birds and angels sing as the silence cries

My heart is grateful for hope from above
In melodies of grace, His song concludes
For those who know His beauty lives in love

He confirms that His love never excludes
Holy light blesses all souls who believe
In melodies of grace, His song concludes

We rejoice in His birth each Christmas Eve
O’er gentle sunrise, tender peace abides
Holy light blesses all souls who believe
Moon and stars flow, cling to the sky as guides

Christmas Season

Christmas season
I'm overwhelmed with the gratitude
I feel with my family
While spending it quietly
I can feel joy in small things
And I have a big heart
To thank everyone
Who has loved me so far.

This Christmas

There's no one cause I'm done,
With the sore and the pain.

But there's awe with my faith,
That is growing again.

The peace I'm embracing,
It has filled my whole heart.

And my soul sings the rhythms,
Of a day with no start.

This Christmas I'm healing,
And I'm new like a moon.

I'm lighted, revealing,
Full of glow in a room.

Chanukah, Christmas -- the same day this year
Though Chanukah’s minor, it too spreads cheer
        Her lights dispel the darkness
        Increasing every night
‘Til she exits in a blaze, her flames filling earth’s sphere

Premium MemberKeeping Christ in Christmas

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. - Norman Vincent Peale

May the beautiful star, shining so bright
Bless your heart and soul with His sweet light,
Breaking through the darkness and doubt
Revealing the wonder, what Christmas is all about

May the gentle whisper of joy in His song
Bless you with assurance that you belong,
Here in the wonder of a Christmas story
Where light and love remember His glory.

May the heavens reveal the glow of hope
Bless your life with a promise you can cope
With every fear, each tear and all the sorrow
Beneath the worries of the impending morrow.

May the love of our Savior delight your life
As you recall the amazement of His sacrifice,
And, as we celebrate the dear Savior’s birth
Don’t ever stop rejoicing because of His great worth!

May this Christmas bring you so much love
Love that comes from the miracles above,
The peace and faith, the amazing grace
That comes from the hope we’ll never erase!

May this Christmas mean more than just a gift
May this Christmas stir the music who’ll ever uplift!

Premium MemberThe greening of my ex

Spent a day with my ex this Christmas season.
Both his hands were now green so I asked,
"what's the reason?"
Was he painting, a project, and they didn't come clean?
His pigment was tinted in a mossy green.
I touched a hand, pulled the skin, gently pinched.
He showed no pain, didn't even flinch.
Could he be turning into the Grinch?
He rolled up one pant leg and revealed a green knee
and said, "well, it's really not bothering me".
Attempting to hide my growing alarm, I said,
"better see your doctor, some thing is wrong."
A few days later he and his Doctor did meet.
It turned out to be dye from new unwashed
green sheets.

Premium MemberFeels like Christmas

Imagine what they must have felt,
Burning in their heart, to melt
Away the bitterness and fears,
All the darkness from past years….

Imagine how their souls were blessed
Could anyone have truly guessed
That silent night, as a star called down
Sprinkling peace all around….

Imagine when the Lord was born,
In a stable, so old and worn,
To a virgin, the mother of love
Mary, who would praise heaven above…

Imagine the songs that were sung,
By startled souls, both old and young,
Kings and peasants, all knew this birth
Answered prayers, bringing heaven to earth…

Imagine the joy that came, overflowing
Through the heart and soul, spirit’s glowing
Reassured by the presence of this King,
The One who caused all the angels to sing….

Imagine the peace, wonder and hope
Falling from the One who taught us to cope,
With the earth’s darkness, pain and fear
All the reasons we praise Him throughout the year….

Imagine a Christmas when we celebrate the One
Who assured us, he’d one day say well done,
Invite us to a home where our soul shall believe,
He is the light who silences doubt on Christmas Eve.

Premium MemberLight That Lights All Lights

“we look for that light eternal
that does not come and go
the screen upon which life plays
cognised in staid stillness slow”
               by Unseeking Seeker

As Almighty Creator’s children who're created in the image of God,
We’re born gifted of His Light, don’t be so anxious or sad,
God’s light had dwelt in our heart and soul, in each and among us;
Let it shine in every minute, hourly, in all seasons, in every Christmas!

The light in our soul is powered as great and bright as the sun,
By our love, generosity, good deeds and holiness in expanse;
God’s Light in our heart is eternal, can’t be hidden, come and go--
We’re sculptured as His Lighthouses to glorify Him! Let’s all show!

If we’re blinded…carried away by temptations or disappointments,
Dwindled hope, faith, values and darkness will never be our Light’s ends;
Look within our soul, or of other’s, holding fervently to God in prayers
To light that lights all lights so brightly, for God lives in us forever!

Premium MemberAngel's Voice

As the angel spoke of God’s Son,
Telling Mary what love has done,
Her heart must have pulsed with insight
As this child shines His gentle light.

An angel soothed Mary’s betrothed
Soon, their sweet baby would be swathed
In swaddling cloth, this silent night
As this child shines His gentle light

Angels reveal the birth of peace,
With joy that will always increase,
So love came to make all things right,
As this child shines His gentle light

This truth told by hearts who believe,
Shows us when Mary did conceive
This is love that brings the blind sight
As this child shines His gentle light.

As the angel’s voice sings of love
There is hope promised from above
Love came, our story to rewrite
As this child shines His gentle light

Premium MemberMrs Santa Finally Gets Her Christmas Wish

As Christmas draws near something's different this year,
At the North Pole all's quiet as can be.
Saint Nick and all of the elves he employs
Are online filling kids' wish lists electronically.
His wife, Mrs. Claus, is delighted because
Her jolly old husband's finally working from home
And delivering those toys to good girls and boys
Via UPS, FedEx, and Amazon drones.

...and Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays to all the good girls and boys on PS...
