Premium MemberA Pack Of Six

A group of animals very close to a strawberry farm was spotted by a female fairy, one early evening. She was delighted for seeing, hearing six different animals talking to each other again.

The cat said to the leveret, "Meoww..."

The leveret nodded while watching and listening to everybody in the group.

The third animal, a chimp, laughed out loud for showing his new discovery -- a big, orange-colored watermelon.

The fourth animal, a squirrel, was amazed by the strength of the chimpanzee -- clapped and praised the chimp.

The fifth animal, a male woodpecker, telling everyone that he'll always look for food each day for all of them. They only need to help him get the food for them.

The fairy noticed that the sixth animal, a chipmunk, is weeping... the other five animals noticed it too.

The chipmunk was asked by the leveret, "Why are you crying?..."

The chipmunk replied, "We will be scolded again. This is the third time the chimp stole a watermelon from the same old farmer!"

(The fairy knows it's a pumpkin that was brought by the chimp this time, not a watermelon.)

Premium MemberTortoise and Hare Redux

She has a certain savoir-faire;
always clever with the cleaver.
Young leveret wants to believe her,
follows signs for trim of hare.

Too old, her title to recoup,
waits patient at the barbershop,
then takes a little off the top;
a tortoise makes delightful soup.

Premium MemberWhats Up, Doc

Levity, leveret
Too phony, coney
Bucks for the buck
And dough to see doe

Hare-brained, hilarious
Rabbit died laughing
That’s funny, bunny
The kittens will grow

You don’t know jack, rabbit
We’re in high cotton
Hightail it out of here
Peter, you know

Toss in the pepper
You got hassenpfeffer
Throw in a carrot
That’s Bugs’ old show

Pollution

To mill pond at dawn's new day

rippling sunbeams over the calm surface play
freely amongst the stately swans gliding there
in contented pairings, turning sees' a hare
and leveret munching on borage and honeycombs
breakfasting, as a polluted tributory stream foams
with poisonous effluence five hundred yards away

to mill pond at dawn's new day

Bed of Petals

There it lay unseen by man
On a bed  of rose petals
Perfume wafting as on a fan
Dew shimmers as it settles.

Who or what, lies within
What secret does the petals  hide
Whats snuggled down in sleep
Its a leveret we will name "Abide"

Your mam was killed your all alone
Could see you were distressed
Knew you would be safe with me
Close to my petals pressed

Come little man no one to hurt you
Hidden  amongst the petals soft
"Abide" with me your safe from danger
Until your strength for life is crossed

Haiku - Lucky Escapes - Number Twenty Two

Leveret scurries
Trained ears, panoramic sight
Saved - by a hare's breath.

Easter Bunny blinks
Burrows the deep undergrowth
Close shave this morning
