COSMIC BLINKING

Moving,
Blinking the moon,
Bold shaped clouds
Drifting by:-
Likewise,
A flock of geese
Silhouette the sky;
Their flapping wings,
Waving goodbye:
My blinking eyes,
Release goodbye
Mirroring tears
Of keloid memories
Of you and me
As a shooting star
Departed the sky:-

FLOWING BEAUTIFUL SAD TEARS OF JOY

In keloid memories of supreme love,
Tears of grief and joy flow together,
Reflecting beauty even in death:-

So, be not proud, ole death;
Present tears of your grief,
Now stream as one
With tears of
Treasured
Moments
Of joy:-

Hey, only the body dies;
The spirit lives onwards:
In onderful oneness
Of keloid memories:-

OF HEARTBEAT MEMORIES

My heart skipped a beat,
As sweet blooming thoughts of you,
Stood at its door front:
Keloid rosebud memories,
Shifting its beating rhythms:-

Premium MemberWAITING IN LIMBO

WAITING IN LIMBO

Sitting on the muddy banks
Of faded realities,
Lingering in the spaces of time,
Lost souls struggle:
Seeking another Dreamer.

Powering pawn brokers,
Tighten their mogering grasp
Beyond the setting sun;
Leaving frailed victories festering
And waning in winds of change:-

White opiates coagulate,
Flowing black dreams
Of mesmerized minds;
Oblivious to fading freedoms
Chained and rotting away:-

As time and life sag on,
Let’s not be as a drooping bosom
Sagging due to incised-bleeding;
Rather, let’s be as pregnant wombs
Breaking waters of liberating justice:-

Indeed, let’s scream renewed life,
Nourished keloid-ancestral-navels,
Waxed and hardened by sarcasm
Against the trumping-musky rhetoric
Streaming against democratic equity:-

Premium MemberOF POETIC PROSE AND RHYME IN TRYING TIMES

I’m not whom
You may think
I am
But am the who
That I am
And the coming
To being more
As the belly
Of my soul
Craves
In hunger
For divine
Wisdom
And guidance
Poured from
God’s overflowing
Cistern spilling
Out onto
The dry sponge
Of my soul
Awaiting hydration
Of awareness
And inspiration
To be likewise
Squeezed out
Onto other
Dehydrated sponges
Of spiritual souls
Needing
Flowing prose
And wetting rhymes
Saturating healing grace
During all needed times:

Grief and despair
We’re not to harbor
For to do so
Is to jam-jar horror
Always remember
On the way
We go
Spiritually bound sailors
Sailing waves
To the shores of life
Frothing away failed
Behaviors
So in keloid memory
Of this little prose
Flowing rhyme
From me
In every moment of
A trying time
Keep this little flow
In mind
And enjoy from
The Cistern above
Healing peace and love:-

IN PRAISE OF DIVINE LIBERATION

I once wallowed in apathy,
I once had bad feelings
Of being unworthy;
Struggling with failure:-
In anger, I once felt
God had abandoned me,
Until a keloid memory
Of a childhood lesson
In gracious spirituality,
Massaged my aching soul;
And with amazing divine
Wisdom and guidance,
I became blessed
With the healing awareness
That lesson had taught:-

In renewed soul searching prayer,
I sought action to replace apathy,
And labors of love were revealed;
I beggingly asked God for help
in arriving at belief self worthiness,
And it was profoundly given to me;
I knocked on the door of determination,
And opening widely, it ushered out failure,
Graciously ushered in faithful persistence:-

Indeed, with forgiveness and supreme love,
God has never ever abandoned me; rather,
It has always been me abandoning Him!
Yet, with His forgiveness and supreme love,
God has now eternalized me with living faith;
Energizing me in being an instrument of His love
And a reflector of graciousness in labors of His love:
To god be the glory for forgiveness and divine liberation!

Premium MemberSHARING GOD'S SHARED POURED WORDS

For me,
Penning poetic words,
Is a desired labor of love;
Sharing life’s awareness
Of the guided wisdom
Poured out of God’s cistern
To wave and froth inspiration;
And the beauty
Of it all
Is that God’s cistern
Is eternally overflowed
With such frothing words;
Energizing
Thirsty searching souls
And strengthening
Our tested spirits
With His peace
Love and healing grace;
And I pray
My poetic well
Will continue
To be flooded
With buckets
Of hydrating words;
And when God
Retires me
I pray
My keloid
Clanging echoes
Will continue
To quench
Inspirational thirst:-

Premium MemberOUR KELOID HEIRS

They are the fruits
of our sown seeds
in the womb of life;

They are the foot-stepped
followers of today’s times
and its challenges;

They are the precious gifts
that our Creator’s love
has given us to cherish;

They are the navel travelers
whose pathway we must palisade
with love’s wisdom and guidance:-

Let us daily remind them
God has gifted them worthily
To overcome life’s challenges:-

Let us daily remind them
That in the challenges of life,
“Don’t be sorry; be aware:-”

Let’s daily African Proverb them:
“To not know is bad;
To not wish to know is worst:-”

Let us daily aware them:
NI & divine wisdom seeks liberty;
AI can deviously stream shackling:-

Remember, they are our heirs;
The blessed liberators we’ve waited for
To ensure our eyes’ mountaintop prize:-

TO THE TASK AHEAD FOR OUR WRITERS

No one can write our story but us;
His story merely footnotes us:-
In the culture of the penned word,
We must personally ink ourstory;
Footnoting history’s keloid pains:-

In doing so, the rules must be ours
As opposed to those of anglophobia:-
In our midst, do we not have
Our own Prophets, Scribes, and Seers?
Do we not have our own worthy Griots?

Let us not write for their critics, but for ourselves,
Demonstrating mastery of the enforced language
Through which we must uniquely cipher flowing lines;
Deciphering coded lies from undeniable living truths:-
Can an indigenous fruit be a “native” of one that’s not?

POETIC FOOTPRINTING
(A Senryu Septet-Thought For Today)

Spiritually,
Poets walk poetic feet;
Sojourning life:-

In sojourning life,
Which foot begins the journey;
And which foot ends it?*

When you lose your feet,
They can no longer footprint;
Thus, footprint your mind:-

Footprinting the mind,
Ensures keloid memories;
Thus, footprint your mind:-

Footprints of the mind—
Ink setting and rising suns;
Thus, footprint your mind:-

Go and mind footprint,
For they are indelible;
Thus, footprint your mind:-

*N. B. These footprints of mine,
           Are inspired by those of yours;
          Our minds foot printing~~~

Premium MemberSELF PORTRAIT: APROPOS OF A FLASHBACK

I'm a dark-hued poetic mind
           Writing mine:
Inking navel keloid words
            Water-broken
           From pregnant
               Thoughts

                   YES

But even these I want to share
       For sharing is caring:
         About love
           About peace
             About freedom
                About babes
                  About bombs
And about lumbering shadows of life
       Silhouetting hungry death

                YES

I'm a dark-hued poetic mind
          Writing mine
 A cranial reservoir dripping
      Spear-tipped words
   Dripping cognitive flows
           Conjuring
             Cosmic
         Consciousness
            Defying
        The cryptic
      Void of silence

Abandoned Trunks And The Children
		There laid the empty gray trunk;
		never to hold a thing again.
		There in the blood-wet soil,
		a sadden decaying lump.
                          Dead and no longer in life’s pain;
		lifeless—no longer in earthly toil.

		Gone are the rumbing fun echoes
		and self gushing joyous showers;
		Leaving only keloid ivory memories
		to be as tombstone flowers.

		Thus is the sad eerie fate
		of a great regal elephant;
		A victim of greed’s sake—
		and man’s pleasure hunt.

Ironically–in schoolyard-like graves–
in the brightness of ivory sunshine days,
Our children–like joyful trumpeting elephants–
have become victims man’s ongoing pleasure hunt:-

Premium MemberLynching Pandemic Echoes

Today, lynching has gone
From roped necks and trees
To piercing bullets and klan knees;
Free from guilt and doing no wrong.
Yet, the hued victims remain the
Same;
And seeking immediate justice seems
Just insane;
Today’s dead man walking, is surely
A young or old black;
There’s no shadow of doubt that normal
Racist murder is back.

Those blacks that the present pandemic pulsating virus
Don’t infect and kill,
Many—you can bet—roving racist cops and their peers
Most surely will.
No matter which perpetrator of the two will cause our
Black families to grieve,
Keloid memories will be echoes of those ghostly words,
“I can’t breathe…”
From many rains ago, it has been proven that with racism
“[We all can’t]…just get along…”
And while we wander racist injustice together, it also seems
“Burn baby burn” has not gone.

Premium MemberI Am That I Am---Without End

I Am That I Am…Without End…

Listen, my heart is a soul drum
Beating the spiritual rhythms
Of the sojourning struggle of life—
Pumping pulsating blood inking
The notes of our story—flowing
From the past to the present—banked
In the here and now—waiting to cascade
Into the liberated future;
Yes, like an aged tree trunk, I am rooted
Here—anchored in the fertile soils—
Here, engaged in the struggles of freeing life.
Oh, the scars I bear are many; each being
A keloid memory of where I have been—each
A smooth raised and shadowed spiritual hope
Of where I am going when finished inking here.
Today, I now know that I am a child
Of a once lost race that is now found
And realized; a race destined to be forever free.
Oh, I know that I am a child of the rivers
Of blood—rivers fearlessly flowing free;
You see, I am as the night—pushing aside
The day—claiming my time now to be here, free.
Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may not be;
Thus, today must be the joyous freedom advent.
Therefore, today I claim myself eternally free;
I am as in the beginning: wind, water, fire—
The light! I am all: I am the Word without end!
