Up in the above
roof gardens pluck air out of thoughts.
Changelings run between
brick walls
one is dead-eyed and evermore shall not see
yet it grows itself upon a dendritic tree
to hear what the empty places speak of.
Long moved furniture’s leave there after-images
they remain as stains upon inlayed grains.
inside the crumbling interior of bare floor
wood owls slowly turn spiral eyes
to see for those no longer here.
Above this homeless and dreaming mind
a straight-backed chair plays a dark cello
most melancholy are its tunes
that resound on ceiling and echoing ground.
The space within the structure will one day rupture
but for now a ghostly grey-matter
knits together
the under, the over,
and that room
where music sighs between two lovers.

To get rich - to be rich - to bear golden fruit
To enrich self and others - a worthy pursuit
But wealth for wealth's sake without taking stock?
Will freeze up your soul and infuse it with rock
To give up what's dear for stuff that is dear
Illusion of value - a shiny veneer
Integrity - honesty - jump out of the window
Ethics and morals cry into their pillow
To believe to succeed needs you and not luck
Go read a self help book whose tips really suck
To sacrifice time that you'll never get back
Your chunky arm clock - ticks by - never slacks
Your heath, mind and body - a price you must pay
Promotion is pending? Well maybe some day
Friendships that change to those who can aid
True pals become rarer - their memories fade
Unlike Scrooge's phantoms whose warnings were heeded
You sink into darkness yet felt you succeeded
Whilst spiritual hunger does little to soften
There's fool's gold inlayed on your lonely rich coffin
(Entry for fools gold competition)

Life's Tapestry
Life begins: a single thread
Inlayed throughout as one
Faceted; a tapestry
Entwining hopes and dread
'Sembling extracts not quite done.
Torn brocades of woven silk
Aloft on dusty walls
Pull at strings of mother's milk
Ellipsing vacant halls.
Shadows press the looking glass
Towards the light then fall.
Running colours fading fast
Yaw past the muted call.

Seeing the fiery flashes immersed within an opal
Surrounded by the brilliance of red rubies in a circle.
A tiffany cut emerald glowing a luminescent green,
Inlayed in shining platinum, and worn by a Queen.
Gemstones are more than sexy, as they have radiance,
And make a perfect gift for any romantic circumstance.
The sapphire glows blue and sometimes reflects a star,
Their beauty is unmatched and oh how rare they are,
So men will risk their lives to search for all of them,
But nothing is more sexy than the brilliance of a diamond.

Winter has arrived for a treatment and later makes a grand entrance at the
hairdressers.
At home, forged metal, molten metal ,blacksmith hammering a horseshoe.
Quicksilver mercury smooth metal etched and inlayed with black enamel
Straw bale for pillows, candles for lighting illuminating dried sage fumes.
Family crest on metal armour , heavy metal armour etched with all over design.
Clip-clop , clip-clop your chariot has arrived with footman unrolling the steps.
We're off to lunch at the hog's breath cafe, the smell of burgers is over-
whelming!
Just a small bite, that will do , no need to wolf it , the puppy can have the rest.
Today is our hairdressing day and many small swatches are presented.
Fingers running warm water through reclining hair start a scalp massage.
Swishing fabrics, clicking heels, strong musk perfume , Madame has Arrived!
This year Winter wants to make a strong impression...Platinum Blonde!
Thin as a whistle, pale make-up, fluffy white sheepskin collar and cuffs.
With just a small dash of colour ..A chunky red jewel sparkling in silver.
