Californian wildfires, aided by strong winds, left a trail of destruction,
deaths, and acres of ravaged land. Yet, out of the ashes, stimulated
by intense heat, fire follower seeds start to sprout, and in no time at
all, an explosion of orange and red poppies give a lease of new life to
the barren land – a gratifying gift of hope which only nature has the
ability to offer.

field of dandelions,
my delirium dance
heading down the highway.
drive by flag and fountain,
and trees wrap ‘round the lake
next to a kiddy park.
swamp grass,
the color of wheat
and auburn -
flickers of felicity.
and the backyard landscape
where i keep my grandsons
a spectacle of blooming colors -
cherry and lemon tulips, lavender and poppies.
crèpe myrtles with crooked trunks, skinny legs
lovely with inflorescent flowers
pastel pinks, peeking
through the sliding glass door.

me with serenity -
a serendipity
of nature’s refection.

The bride’s inflorescent bouquet, cascading —
a tropical tease of Chamorro charm
in the Marianas Islands.
A circular celebration arch
of bougainvillea and golden wedding bands,
preened and prepared, to love and cherish.
The handsome groom clasps the bride’s hand
as they step into the infinity ring.
Their breathing entwined with sunshine and seashells.
Her dark, Guamanian skin
and sleek ebony hair, surrounded by Red Hot,
California Gold and Sundown Orange blossoms.
The honeysuckle-scent of paper flowers,
intoxicating —
ruminating with romance.
The Pacific Islanders,
bare feet in tan sand,
release the coconut essence of their vows.
The grand reception at the hotel, in moonlight hours,
near the ancient wall, kissing blossoms and bracts.

Nature's divine creation is flora
Although there are numerous breeds
My favorite flowering plant is Ixora
The most beautiful flower indeed
Since Ixora has attractive colors,
It is also called as Jungle flame
I am magnetized to the pleasant odor
and would love to proclaim
Usually the flowers are solitary
but Ixoras are inflorescent.
Fragrances they spread,ajar the nectary,
an ancient antidepressant
The enthralling colors welcome bees
butterflies,insects and humming bird
I enjoy the serenic beauty, without fees
just by sowing pint-sized Ixora seeds

Gone are the summer wildflowers
those many, subtle scented breaths
that once allured nectar seekers
and me to their wild colonies.
But now those lifeless peduncles
that once bore inflorescent blooms
decay amidst a grand graveyard
of myriad, deciduous dead.
Gone are the summertime players:
the honeybees and bumblebees,
butterflies and dragon flies
mulberries and elderberries;
brief were the roles each had played
in their own, spectacular way.

Beholding this heuristic flower which grows....
Astonishment amid the midst of the deserts dust
Isolations guise so shunned, this beauty it seems
Emitting an emollient fragrance as such
A nardostachys jatamansi ~
This healing and soothing ointment as rains
Loving cup, of sanctities moments such placid waters
Now rising from the parched soils of once barrenness
As a mastic mist of laudatories measures
Blanket it, with flourishings of precious dew
An inflorescent jasmine
Metamorphing into a prismatic rose
Before these melodious stones which smile....
As they gaze upon this magnificent splendour
Within a world wherein some still question as to how
Could this ever be?
This renewing of such trodden petals; rousing
And once crushed by the very hands
Which now stand within bewildered wonderment
As they blink their sting rayed eyes....How?
These second chances of a new born life
The Resurrection, of a once lost soul....
