Indignance Poems | Examples

Pride

Pride is not reading this, because it couldn't possibly teach you something new.

Pride is angry indignance at that - for you know yourself to be humble.

Pride is hatred of me for threatening the illusion of your goodness.

Pride is contempt - for you know I've written falsely because you know yourself to be good.

Pride is bemusement as you positively identify me as an intellect beneath your own.

Pride is mine for knowing how to write of it.

Thought Parades

An escapade from thought parades
A blockade of rouge descent
An oeillade craved
Rueful indignance
A room full of insects

A jocose allusion
A lissome illusion
A querulous reality
I weep where you can't see

Streams of dreams
Melt slowly, spring snowman
Abhorrent print
Why can't I just speak casually

Virtues of reverent past no longer rhyme
With sense of now rushing through time
As troubled voice shudders in forlorn sigh
While remnants of yore earnestly decry
Vigor of life passing by, smiles gone awry,
Powerless to console tribulations of outcry.

Bankrupt of morality, of goodwill sublime,
Arresting freedoms, restricting path of life,
Streets and communities riddled in crime,
Echo bawl of grief, wailing indignance rife,
Imposed on tranquility perturbed in strife,
Since bells, benevolent, ceased to chime.

Sadness and anguish relentlessly bemoan
In solitude of feelings ~ impassive, all alone,
Dwelling in remorse, as memories replay
Friendships and kinships now gone astray;
Searching explanation, struggling to cope,
Saying a prayer, longing blessings of hope.

Closer

Just take my picture
I'm already drunk with sorrow
Yet alone, still, I will breathe whiskey fire
Until my throat burns blue
And my eyes are dry with indignance

You painted me a fool
On my knees and begging
Like you wish a b---h would

Looking For the Why's

She sat in the seat in front
lipstick slightly smeared
Threw a smile
as she stumbled to her seat
Looking round
the light flirted with her eyes
welcoming
the attention
Reflected glass of mobile
makeshift mirror
as covered shine
for umpteenth time
eye lids journeyed down
and face frozen
whispered of something lost
or escaped
Moment shook from head
the beauty of sadness gone
As we journey further
her conversation
overhead
annoyed gargoyle at her side
with pitted face
threw his indignance her way
then returned his chiselled gaze
to the crossword of today
Conversation done
She evolved in the reflection
of amber headlights
trying to outrun
pretend suns
Her mist mirror self
seem to nod
in acceptance
of the pain
it never knows
I Turn to the window
Can not meet my eyes
the person i despise
The one who lies
Never tries
Hidden cries
unresolved sighs
me in my disguise
looking for the why's

This hi-tech table set unfolds unfair
For words inscribed to turn romances ripe,
Since just by finger-click can loves compare
Verse penned for they against their archetype.
Alexandria’s tomes are phone condensed
The same as Congress holds its truths we scroll;
And though indignance now is evidenced,
I do confess at times I online stroll.
But seriously - What cruel circumstance!
If mine was paint - sad Lisa’s moans you’d hear!
da Vinci’s grin exclaims I’ve got no chance
To stir feminine swoons, near well as Shakespeare.
   Instead, self-conscious rhymes self-pity lurch,
From fear my muse knows how to Google search.

Goddess of War

Furious scowls reveal marked displeasure
Void of joy, she pointed her finger
Muddling through a decayed existance
Cloaked in hostility she sputtered and hissed
While keeping her life clenched tight in a fist
The goddess of war reigns pained indignance
Afraid of losing control, she tightens her grip
Unable to unlock the secret of this spiritual disease
The angry spirit of menacing flesh has thrown away the key

Wily

Sneaky Pecore the Weasel
plays political games
until shadow puppets
dance on fabric walls
for petty amusement.

When wrangling for more
he can't ignore the power
of crisis to vault him up
as savior once through
diminishing his rivals.

If news runs slow,
fear must be promulgated
by self-inflicted wounds
to galvanize matters
along a spectral line.

Once contemplated as
manipulation, he'll parade
his family to garner
sympathetic sighs
seeking humanity.

Only when confronted
does his luster tarnish
behind arrogant grunts
hoping to motivate
retreat or surrender.

The day runs short
for Sneaky Pecore's ways
as people demand
more than dramatic
posturing for points.

So he calls upon
fellow rodents of the globe
to clamp a suffocating lid
on the wills of those
deemed inferior.

Until such machinations
drift on currents of indignance,
I shall always remember
that once credibility gets tainted
all words from liars disappear.
