Looking For the Why's
She sat in the seat in front
lipstick slightly smeared
Threw a smile
as she stumbled to her seat
Looking round
the light flirted with her eyes
welcoming
the attention
Reflected glass of mobile
makeshift mirror
as covered shine
for umpteenth time
eye lids journeyed down
and face frozen
whispered of something lost
or escaped
Moment shook from head
the beauty of sadness gone
As we journey further
her conversation
overhead
annoyed gargoyle at her side
with pitted face
threw his indignance her way
then returned his chiselled gaze
to the crossword of today
Conversation done
She evolved in the reflection
of amber headlights
trying to outrun
pretend suns
Her mist mirror self
seem to nod
in acceptance
of the pain
it never knows
I Turn to the window
Can not meet my eyes
the person i despise
The one who lies
Never tries
Hidden cries
unresolved sighs
me in my disguise
looking for the why's
