the first time i felt it
was not a word but a hush
between leaves and the bluest sky—
a breath of you
inside the trembling air
(oh how small i was
with the world rushing by
and softer than reason)
your hand—
or was it light itself—
touched my chest
and opened a door
where no walls had ever been
the first time i felt it
i learned silence could sing
and forever could fit
in a single heartbeat.

I know a funeral when I walk into one
I can tell between a funeral and a burial
They are two entirely different artworks
One is done on grand canvas, with drunken strokes
Of sashaying brush and bleeding paints;
The other is done on mere sand, with foot and hand,
Forming sandcastles built by toddlers.
I know too well because I have my senses
Intact after the last funeral I attended on a gambolling coast.
I should know because I participated in the burial of a
Village lout, a wretched lord, so grand with contumely.
Funeral lasts for days and contains the sounds of cannons
And other elements of ceremonies, so loud, so eloquent,
So ceremonious —full of man and illiterate beasts.
A burial, on the other penurious hand,
Reeks of haste, attended by a teething crowd —
And at times comes with thunder that speaks in jest
And a lightning whose light flickers on all things subpar.

SENIOR MOMENTS. FOOTLE
Here I am at a very great old age with same chat
for these days I can only recall old tales, off pat
Toothless now and decayed so no, long kiss
for that's certainly something best, to miss
Reading with a magnifying glass in , large print
with very strong glasses for close-up, or squint
In my chair most afternoons having, no sap
having to pace myself or without doubt , need nap

God (Elohim)
created
made all
for humans to enjoy
God
rested
made a day for man
to rest
How often
do we consider
just those two
items about Him
Elohim-Hebrew for God and it is plural in Genesis 1. You have to read a long way on down before you find out that it is actually God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost or God the Father, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit

(A reflective voice whispers)
In the Dawn of a new feeling of Life,
Maybe even at high school
Did you embrace one of its golden rules
To hold hands with someone you deemed so special
Encouraged by first love's, sweet kiss
For it to then carry you through, to meet the super cool, Twilight of your Life
With the only true one, whose love has never cooled:
And if you're still incredibly lucky, brings you such bliss
Or did the Shadows of Life appear
Smiling like a Nazgûl
Like a dark thief at night
To take back God's divine gift, and leave you scrambling and grieving
Daydreaming of the Dawn and Twilight of your Life
Before something cruel, caused you, to separate and drift
When everything seemed so perfect and nice
Before the deep cut, of The Shadows of Life's
Sharp, ceremonial knife

My daily routine.
Every day, as always,
Wake up at four.
Start the chores.
Go to the gardens,
Do some maintenance.
Visit the M Central
Play the piano.
One hour goes past,
Enjoy some breakfast.
Go to the library,
Take up space,
Use the computer/internet,
Lunch with meal set.
In the arvo,
Play more and more piano.
Otherwise, visit "Maker Space".
Do some embroideries
For the rest of the day.
What a wonderful day with appointment free.
Tomorrow is another day,
With hectic classes and clinics.
Appointments and treatments
Do not know how to describe,
How the rest of the week was like?
Few words maybe.
Busy and very busy.
Life moves on,
Regardless how you want it.

olive branch in one hand
weapon in the other
hoping for peace with his brother
eager to open his heart
stepping with caution
lest a new war he start
ancestors who precede him
sons who succeed him
raised midst outbursts of fire
triggered by scoundrels and liars...
visions nightly torment his wife
~ grasp tight the olive branch of life

If you wanted three things, laughter, imagination, and wonder,
but could only ask for one,
you could ask for something wild.
You could ask for a child.
Or, say you had three New Year's Resolutions,
but could on make one.
If you were me
(which I happen to be)
I would promise to first take care of me.
My other goals follow, making three.
Then, I could better enjoy each friend,
and I would be kind to them in the end.
Those two are my other goals.
Together three make up one whole.
What needs most attention is my back,
so, I must sort through skilled practitioners and quacks.

i feel for yesterday's blooms
already withering
already past their prime
their innocence consumed
their beauty fading in the night
depleted with the passage of time
their message scattered to the breeze
how i resonate and feel for them
here for a moment then gone

There once was a Rabbi lived in Big Sur
Who could drive a golf ball straight, far, and sure
When he got a hole-in-one
He sighed, “Why, this is no fun”
Who could he tell? ~ it was on Yom Kippur*

for playing golf, esp. if you are a Rabbi!!

the ominous gray and black skies have moved away
three cars have crashed on this torrential rainy day
there is consternation and drama on this highway
ambulances are trying but semis are in the way
down by the creek an elderly lady is up to her neck in water
her red Lincoln is flooded, so she calls her oldest daughter
seven inches of rain in an hour has taken a toll
the grass is a swamp, survival is truly the goal
wet furry animals make way in the grass for a snake
I love this! He tells them, as they shiver and shake.
the rain has stopped, but the damage has been done.
This is an April Nebraska day when we will not see any sun.

When someone puts
Love and hate
In one pot.
I doubt
the result.
As it
can make some healthy
folks vomiting mostly.

would have a great thought
when in both arms overwrought
so same one was shot
Just had our combined
FLU/COVID shot, I had
both of mine in left arm.
Wife had one in each
arm. Only my left arm
is sore while both of
her arms are sore.
