The time was a quarter past half past to twelve
on the second from last day at the beginning of the month
in the year twenty-twenty-soon, and all was quietly loud.
The dancing had only just stopped after a night of sitting still
and food piled up on the empty tables.
Jugglers had danced telling their jokes and magicians sung
their impersonations. People mingled on their own while
loners chatted in small groups of large numbers.
The party was starting just how it had ended
and the guests were now arriving after clearing out slowly;
hangers-on and lingerers had been the first to leave
with late-comers having turned up too early
and many of the uninvited empty-handedly bearing gifts.
It had certainly been a night that day, a party like no other!

Follow The Steel
Protect the sanctity of the steel
The loins of the towers rumbled
At their bases leaving a traumatic loss
The world will never forget this day
When the twins fell and flight 93
Sacrificed themselves to save the
Untold thousands on the ground
Staining our soil with their blood
The earth cried out “Keep the
Sanctity of the Steel Reverent”
A piece of the steel girder travels
Our highways to firefighters and police
Across our roads keeping their memory alive
This piece of Steel carries a heartbeat
And a pulse of Honor and Respect from
Ground Zero that touches every heart
Those who try to abuse this memory
Must be stopped in their get rich
Schemes of impersonations and learn to
Protect the Sanctity of the Steel

ECHOES FRO THE STREET
VOICES OF DECEIT
FLAMES OF FURY FREELY LIT
DANCE STEPS AND RHYTHMS OF A DRUMLESS BEAT
SICKENING THOUGHTS IN SICKENED MINDS
IMPENDING MELEE WITHOUT SIGN
FORWARD AND ONWARD MOVEMENT OF TIME
IMPERSONATIONS AND DELIBeRATIONS ON THE FRONTLINE
SHRILLING SHOUTS OF JOY AND PAIN
AND FREELY MOVES THOSE ONES INSANE
PARADOX UNLEASHED IN QUEST OF GAIN
ETHICAL PALSY OUTWITS THE CAIN
ECHOES FROM THE STREET
WHISPERS OF LOVE AND HATE
ERRORS THAT CANT DELETE
PORTMANTEAU CONDITION THAT REITERATE

It feels like you are right here with me
Seeming like it’s way more than reality
It just makes me laugh, giggle and smile
Even dance all around and sing for awhile
I’m not referring to being tightly squeezed
When you’re making me feel oh so pleased
Or your sweet lips gently touching mine
Those are the things I do feel all the time
But I can actually see your smiling face
And I really do feel your warm embrace
I can hear your voice with your notions
And making the cute little impersonations
All those little things you do as I recollect
It’s like I have more than anyone can get
My heart stays completely filled with joy
The thoughts are the best place to employ
It matters not whoever else with you may be
No one can have this part of you I hold in me
Every tiny moment that we do share together
Feels like the happiest times of my life ever
So I thank our heavenly Father continually
As this feels like a gift lifting me spiritually
By myself I’m not alone, as a matter of fact
Now please tell me just - How Cool Is That?

My step dad, Eldon, long since passed away,
was known for some expressions he would say.
like when he was in traffic and in back
of some bad drivers. Then he’d call them “ Jack.”
Sarcastically, to make us laugh, he’d spout:
“I don’t have all day, Jack; just back it out!”
Of course, those “Jacks” would never hear him say
those snide remarks. We girls laughed anyway.
Those few rare times my sisters and I got
together with our husbands, we could not
refrain from talking in our stepdad's way.
One spouse can mimic well things Dad would say.
My youngest sister has a husband, Kyle,
and his impersonations make us smile.
His “Eldon” style and tone are really keen,
especially when he says real slow. . . “Nowwww, Jean.”
“Now, Jean” was Eldon’s catch-phrase for our mom
when trying to console her. It caught on!
When I’m a bit upset, my husband might
say to me “Now Jean” to keep it light.
It’s pretty cool to think when you’ve passed on,
your funny phrases aren’t completely gone.
I hope my dad is looking down to see
amusing words stayed in our memory!
