September is blessed with one of the best.
You'd remember him if you ever happened to meet;
Aaron is the name of that fine, dandy dude.
I'm building a tower of mirth with my virtuous dude.
We set each brick together - hand in hand always works best.
Today is his birthday, so for a fete, we should meet.
At a park, by a beach, or on a casual street is where we may meet.
Must it be a costly, boastful retreat when frugal is ten times best?
Simple but mellifluous harmonies created by a Pisces with her Virgo dude.
September's best, blessed to meet, and he's my dude, wholeheartedly!

Not the refined ideal version
imagined in the dead of night.
Not the best moments or your carefully crafted persona
but the raw, untamed, slightly bruised
and beautifully imperfect you.
The wind carries the seed of that truth
planting it deep within the soil of my soul.
It might take time to blossom,
to push through the hardened earth of expectation,
but it is there.
And in our shared quiet moments,
the world dissolves and the noise subsides~
I hear it again, a steady, unwavering hum:
You are enough. Just as you are. Now.
We’ve always done for each other what we thought was good and right.
Tucked up in our little corner under the rainy mist of our street light.
Tucked up in our little life where we know that we only have each other when the world chooses us with which to fight.
We found love and peace in one another in this beautiful little life.
All the years that we’ve been together through the laughter, fears, tears, felines and cries. Tucked up here together, well that’s alright.
Because, I’ll never regret a moment, not one single moment of our life, when I see you, my you, my love, our little corner tucked up in your loving blue eyes.
He doesn’t like to socialize, nor does
he laugh at funny shows the way I do.
He suffers chronic pain and frets because
he’s worked so long and hard his whole life through.
We’ve had our ups and downs, and that’s for sure,
but I can overlook the bad. Our love
has grown through many years and will endure
because there’s one thing I am certain of.
My husband’s there for me! Though he may lack
a way with words, much tact or great finesse,
I know deep down – he’ll always have my back.
Each year as we grow greyer, he feels stress.
My birthday wish for him is that he’ll find
contentment and – at last – some peace of mind.

Husband, Did You Bring My Flies?
By Miracle Man
3/2/2021 2:30 AM
Floating down an Arkansas stream
to catch walleye or trout.
The flies she thought she’d brought along,
she found husband had left without.
It really didn’t matter though,
that she could do no fishing.
It’s better to have gone and watched,
than sat at home just wishing.
Now the moral of this birthday story is,
don’t sit at home and wish.
Never trust another to load your flies,
if expecting to catch some fish.
Let me be your wings~
as you reach the sky
and the flight seems so endless.
Let me be your life jacket~
when you're drowning in the sea
and lifeboats aren't in sight.
Let me be your firelight~
to keep you warm
midst windy wintry eve.
Let me be your star~
on moonless lonely nights
and your eyes aglow no more.
Let me be your heartbeats~
now and forever ...
through all eternity.

To my beloved husband on his birthday.
Say a kind word to your husband
That's what he wants most of all
Not a gaggle of gifts for his birthday
You don't have to buy out the mall
Compliment him on his appearance
Or say that you appreciate his perseverance
Tell him it makes you happy he's so tidy and neat
That in the house he puts slippers on his feet
Let him know that he's magic for your son
That he's turned him into a real gentleman
Point out just how much his daughter loves him
That she tells you only God is above him
So forget all the knick-knacks and accoutrements
Hubby thrives on kind words and encouragement
As I sit here with our grandson
and gaze upon your headstone, hon,
I lay a bouquet of white and pink roses
for your birthday, now calm, my heart reposes.
Happy Birthday my dear husband,
father,
and
grandfather.
We love and miss you.
Wish you were still with us.

I've known strong professional women before
their grace under pressure, I'll always adore.
These ladies who are driven by such devotion
are the ones who dare to focus their emotion.
These dames who face boldly issues of gender
tightly hold principle and never surrender.
There weren't many like this who I'd ever seen
till through Tom her husband, I'd met Eileen.
Your birthday, my dear, is more than another year
Marked and filed, a calendar passing, hours mild
Of clasped hands, secret kisses, tickling and
teasing and mocking my tiny sneezing
Your T-shirts and socks and combs I've been stealing
Through, also, the chasm of winter's distance
Through terminations and tight budgets and loose change
Through open arguments and closed doors
Through the torture of twisting back spasms
Through vacant sleep, when tunnel thoughts close in
Through the first anniversary of the loss of your brother
I am blessed for it all, the moods and the worry
Enrich and color the walls of my heart
The sterile white antiseptic years before you
Was someone else's life
So - this day is also the birth
Of your wife.

Another Year Older!
Another Year Older – Another Year Wiser
Happy Birthday to an Older yet Wiser Man.
Stiff Joints and Achy Bones,
Sleepless nights make him grown.
Toss and turn,
Yet never let on.
His sight has its limits,
His hearing is hardly hearing.
Up and moving for there’s plenty that still needs doing!
However, he’s’
Sixty-eight and sleeping late,
A birthday here, A birthday there.
Forget he does
Now and Then!
Another Year Older – Another Year Wiser
For on his Birthday
He’s loved by his
Older yet, Wiser Wife
With her Stiff Joints and Achy Bones,
Limited sight and hard of hearing,
She tosses and turns with her Husband of Years!
Happy Birthday to Years Spent; Well.
Love Your Old and Achy, Wife !
Sewing machine, long idle, gathered dust
next to a uniform lined with medals
She watched him shine them, he'd make such a fuss,
so thankful he'd returned from the battles
Eyes closed, giggling as she's swept in his arms
she knows they'll be happy a good long while
Him not being short on good looks or charms
She knows at her end she'll still wear a smile.....
The war years seemed like only yesterday;
he looks at the coat and tarnished medal
Eyes closed, here she's laid many a birthday;
he could never help her fight this battle
A faint smile pon her lips; he understands
...so many years he's prayed for just a spark
He sat and kissed her quickly cooling hands
The candle sputtered, spent, and all was dark

Generous, Loving, Impeccable sense of humor, soft-hearted
Husband of mine.
Lover of Math, Charts, Computers, Games of Chance
Who feels empathy, joy, and passion
Who needs his family, his work, and laughter.
Who gives whatever he has, to the poor, and to us.
Who fears being alone, being left, losing me.
Who would like to see his grandchildren on his birthday weekend,

Delta Blue
Dear Barbara,
When you were born in the Southern land, God had already devised a beautiful plan. I was born in the land I call Delta Blue, Just North within a hundred miles of you. Delta Blue created songs of pain and sadness. People worked hard there and had little rest. Before you arrived, mother gave birth to me just six months ahead. I never knew that some day you and I would wed. But here we are sweetheart on your birthday, 2000 miles from Delta Blue, still trusting God to lead and show us the way.
By your side is where I stand, With love from your husband. 03102017FB; cj PS
My ex's birthday will be forever etched in my brain,
Memories of celebrating each year with lobster and champagne.
It's a date today in my mind I wish I could erase,
But it's in my heart unbidden, and has claimed a space.
