making you smile is the highlight of my day
i feel so at ease and anything is possible
i am in another world anytime i am with you
you taking me away is like a warm winter morning at a quiet, secluded ocean
i love you like a gentle wind caressing the center of life's realm
SHENIKA SIMS
making you smile is the highlight of my day
i feel so wonderfully lost in all elements of you
i am in another world everytime i am with you
becoming lost in love with and being loved by you i like a perfectly cool autumn afternoon with an indecisive, bashful sun
i love you like the thoroughly flowing waters carefully calming the center of life's realm

The doubter's eye yelled, "show me, god."
Go for stroll in quiet cloud laud.
Look where he might track down calmness.
Who can see black bug fold their nod?
Who sees our veins in the darkness.
And wowed the bloodstream in process,
And views embryo's feed in the womb,
Though hears and sees what is voiceless,
Love is clearly starting to bloom.
And knows what he claims in the gloom,
On the vast seas, warm ships of chance,
Wind, blowing past your flower's tomb.
Rising one's rate of mindfulness.
Looking backward to your justness.
We've been imbued with a pulse feast.
Bringing the soul's grace to brightness
Bliss, wholeness In a calm exist.
Keep god's still voice in the spirit.
Grace strike when our ego is shorn.
Praise, the soul's promise, mends the beast.

morning has broken broken dreams in the cold light of day

POET'S NOTES
With her monoku, Marlene 'Mountain' Morelock Wills (1939–2018), challenged the idea that haiku must consist of two juxtaposed images. I explore parallelism as a possible poetic device in this monoku, as well as a form of internal rhyme.
Besides the obvious meaning of "broken" (to break), "morning is broken" is an example of a contronym:
Now, as an adult, I realize that the use of “broken” in the expression “Morning has broken” is most closely related to breaking through a barrier, out of a throng, or through a surface. In fact, Merriam-Webster clusters it there: “to come into being by…bursting forth.”

Traveling with mom throughout Paris
was an amazing and rewarding experience,
As she truly was the highlight
Of this trip.
It is only natural that I dedicate
an entire post to her
and thank her for being
my companion and accomplice
On this great adventure.
A mother is more like a journey
then a memory.
She is a living presence,
she's the whisper of the leaves
As you walk down the street.
She's the cool hand on your brow
When you're not feeling well.
She's your breath in the air
on a cold winter's day;
she's the sound of the rain
that lulls you to sleep,
the colors of a rainbow.
She lives inside your laughter
and she's crystallized
In every tear drop.
She's the place you came from,
your first home, she's the map
you follow
With every step you take.
Nothing on earth can separate you.
Not time, not space...not even death!
I thank God for blessing me
With a mother like her.
She is the beating of my heart
and I cannot now imagine
a life without her.
Thank you mom for these
wonderful and treasured
memories.

"Highlight Pen"
Through your road of life, as you travel through,
Don't forget your Highlight Pen to bring along with you.
For in your many journeys, paths that you shall take,
You will encounter many books of life, also in the make.
As books of life of others that you'll come to read,
You'll have MANY opportunities in which you'll find the need,
To use your Highlight Pen to point out all the good,
You will see and appreciate to make it understood.
Sometimes the souls we encounter, come across,
May not see their value within themselves they toss.
But with your trusty Highlight Pen filled with ink of Love,
You can help them see the Light inside they are made of.
Be generous with your strokes, never do decline
Nor be stingy with your ink, make very wide your line.
Now here, take your Highlight Pen, keep it on your person.
You'll have it handy then, so you can start rehearsin'!
