When I heard that the first would be last,
I was so completely aghast
that I slammed on my brake
and let those behind me overtake
my future, as I slipped into their past.
"Stupid is as stupid does,"
Isn't that what people say?
How hard it must be for many,
Just to make it through the day.
"Wake up and smell the coffee,"
Or so the saying goes.
To improve your situation,
You've got to follow your nose.
How about "Catch as catch can,"
I've heard that one before.
Do the best that you can do,
Or you might wind up on the floor.
"My eyes are bigger than my stomach,"
That practice will never last.
By the look of that swollen waistline,
Maybe it's time that you should fast.
here is what we heard
up much trouble Trump had stired
to hell was transferred
Spooky rustling in the night
In the corner on my right
Could be this or could be that
Not certain it’s the cat
Awake for so many hours
Diving under bed sheet cowers
Last night woke with a start
Watched light speck about me dart
“Strange goings on, you are sad,
imaginings” said my dad
Sudden awake, hear name call
See-through ghost against the wall
Shaking, “who are you” I said
“I’m from the house of the dead”

Word We Had Heard That Occurred
completely absurd
every word that had occurred
that by us was heard
Jim Horn
I can no longer zip up my kilt.
Is there something to eat without guilt?
They say salad's a must
but I think it's a bust
because gravy makes the Lettus wilt!
Absurd Word Ever Heard That Has Occurred
Trump was worst absurd
Word which has ever occurred
And by us is heard.
Sometimes has been slurred.
While being a nerd.
Were not rest assured
While pot he has stirred.
That we had endured.
Can never be cured.
Looks like lofty bird.
My side has been burred.
Ruffled feathers furred.
Mercy not steward.
Take your pick for the last line.

Heard That, Saw That & I’m Going To Tell
By Elton Camp
So no evil did that other monkey hear
Then something is stopping up his ear
And not a thing bad did he come to see
A problem with his eyes there must be
And not a single wicked thing did he say
Only because he was unwilling to betray
But for my part, I took every bit of it in
I’m going to spread it around with a grin
