Line 2: "she reassured me with an unfamiliar line"

she's but an alluring, poisonous spider
that wields her sexiness like a weapon.
   come what may, she gets what she wants;
an opportunist; her target, malleable men

uninterested in relationships, she's all about
grifting. she once tried to lure me into her web.
she reassured me with an unfamiliar line...
  "don't worry, I don't bite!"...but I knew better.

     she's an effortlessly seductive temptress
      with intoxicating charms tough to resist;
she enjoys dangling her feminine wiles
like a carrot for benighted men to nibble.

she's left a trail of broken men in her wake.
be careful, my guy! do not let her suck you
into the vortex of her magnetism, for she'll be
              the author of your destruction.

The Hopeless Case

A mother
left crying
alone in her pew

Begging the Lord
for a miracle
new …

The only thing
he was good at
was being bad

Bus stations
train stations
corn maidens in drag

He came and he went
with the most
discordant rhyme

His sins
left uncounted
but marking the time

In Akron Ohio
his grifting
unwrapped

Those roads
in New Mexico
calling him back

The lights
and the sirens
again on their way

His thumb
in the wind
— Saint Jude in dismay

Gorillas grow growly gruffy grouchy grampas
Giving grateful gremlins grassy growth plates
Glassy glistening glowing glaring glimmers of globes
Groovy grizzly gristleworms gracefully grifting grandmas
Grandiose grimlets grabbing growling gracious grates.

Dark Itinerant

Wafting in the unmistakable scent
of poor choices
Grifting in the prodigal valley
of mistakes
Loitering in the tenement
of false witness
Wandering along the highway
—of forgotten dreams

Premium MemberAbecedarian Alliteration

An abecedarian Australian animal activist
Bagged bodacious big bucks
Caustically criticizing crocodiles,
Driving darling dragons
Essentially extinct. Eschewing
Fact, fabricating fanciful fiction,
Grifting gloriously,
He haughtily held hostage
Important, instructive information,
Juxtaposed jaundiced, junk
Kangaroo kills,
Leveling large lizard libel,
Manufacturing marsupial misinformation malevolently.
On other ominous occasions,
Preferring pernicious propaganda,
Quickly, querulously, quashed
Real, rational reports, rather,
Substituted several substantially
Tarnished technical travesties,
Undermining unified understanding.
Very vociferously, viciously
Wrote works without warrant,
Xenophobic xenotypic
yarns, yammering yellow-bellied yawps,
Zombie-like, zealously.

Premium MemberDream Macabre - a Repost

My imagination ran shamelessly amok last night
While I slumbered in beaded sweat, askance that I would
Be peddling ornate coffins to the absurdly rich, then
Second handing them to poorer souls for paltry profit.
After black-draped mourners departed for sumptuous feasts
I heaved their unboxed tuxedoed beloved into the pit
And shoveled them over head to foot with yellow clay.
No shame ensuing, I wiped down the shiny satin interior
Erasing telltale vestiges of the recently deceased occupant
Loaded the ornamental bronze, a considerably less-weighty box,
Into the back of my somber black Cadillac hearse
And laughing lustily sped away…, then I awakened.

Premium MemberMidsummer Dip

I savor sunshine - its voracious heat
as I drizzle sweet lemonade
on my dehydrated tongue.

I dip my toes into the fondant
of lemon afternoon. You’ll find me
wading in the aquamarine swoon.

My coral-colored swimsuit, one piece
tease of a midsummer’s sea;
saltine-salvation with a tangerine squeeze.

Chartreuse eyes, like a key lime pie,
Ray-Ban protected ~ *
dessert winks at her sublime prize.

Quite crimson, I become, forgetting
to reapply sunscreen, with a rub-a-dub-dub,**
as I sunbathe near my ocean tub.

Clueless after hours on the beach,
my love dives into his watermelon treat,
a breach of spousal ethics to my cause.

With a pouty lip and grifting-tears, I con
his palm to soak me down with aloe vera,
and grant me two-fisted cocktail sips.

The saffron sun dips on the zephyr’d beach.
A welcoming arm rounds my shoulders ~
lavender and lilac speech of twilight.

Mute

mood hits
darken cloths of nous
a thousand needles
pierced
a permeance of destruction
grifting a mindless soul

dagger dragged upon dagger
gifted for glory of death
dearth
a destiny to destroy
semblance of life

be silent
thoughts
churning

fear is without chance

wait and let the winds whisper
and cloud cover cease
and push to the east

it will be then
only then
this dark will come to rest

Clenched Jaw

Growing up in purest innocence
Greeted as a friend
Groomed with a fine tooth comb
Grabbed unexpectedly
Groped involuntarily
Grouping parts of self
Gripping deeper fears
Grinding self image
Gritting teeth
Gryping of opportunity lost
Grifting gratification
Grappling with truth
Grieving childhood missed
Gripping reality loosely
Grousing silently
Graduating in faith
Grinning of small hopes
Granting mercy
Graced with love
Jaw Relaxes

Sentient Embrace of My Chaste Lover

If desire crests from craven heart
On my duplicitous eyes won't chart
With clever guise will deliver Cupid's dart
From ducts, drain silt that lust does cart
Only sentient strain from dilated pupils impart
Through mind's eye, residual glare will kick start

If grifting ears strain only lurid rhythms to hear
To sift only the tawdry jingles that decorum jeer
With modular shift will Jove's hypnotic cadence sear
Melodic parlance with romantic vibes will ring clear
With only rational discourse your sterile drums cheer

If drooling lips seek with Venus's frothy dew endear
And impulsive lips cannot from sumptuous strips veer
A chapping balm on the puckering seams I'll smear
With arresting bitters saliva from taste buds shear
Onto comely face a dry, innocuous kiss will steer
